🏴 Love engineering in general but cars, car restoration and car modifying are definitely what peaks my interests along with my day job as an Additive Manufacturing Engineer or 3D Print Engineer as its more commonly known, and lucky enough to work within the F1 industry, which i hope to integrate into some projects, from 3d scanning to actual 3d printing.
I'm Stuart, petrol head since a kid, blame my dad who is a retired car mechanic. Live in a wee town outside Glasgow in Scotland.
Decided to give this UA-cam malarkey a go with the help of my dear old dad and try to build, restore and modify cars. Can't promise great video editing and footage....but i can promise an honest attempt at having a bash which might even inspire others to try it.
Just a bit of fun, feel free to like and subscribe, don't take life to seriously we're here for a very short time!

where can i get a few of the 225 stickers?
They're actually 3d printed badges which I made 👍🏻
Any chance of you making me one? I am happy to pay.
Well actually 3 I need lol
Still useful in 2025
Happy New Year 🎊
Did your coilovers fit the hub socket ok?
Yeah fronts no problem, rears were a slightly trickier and had to take off the rubber dampener that sits on the bottom of the spring and make a custom one , so instead of the adjuster sitting at the top of the spring we had it sitting at the bottom of the spring, works just fine 👍🏻
Nice to see my old car getting the treatment it deserves!!! 👍
Really ? How long ago did you own it ??
I bought it from Jason at Deutsche Tech in Ayr in 2022 as a stop gap when waiting on a new car. His son owned it before him and before that a lady in Ayr had it. You will see his stamps in the service book. Jason took the car on from his son and put the new clutch in it and gave it a service doing all the belts etc. I had it until March 2023 when I sold it to Craig who tidied it a bit who then sold it to Kevin who you know. We all work together. Was a great car! I loved it and should probably have done more with it.
Just let me know when I can buy it back 😊
Yeah once the winters over I'll look into a new project and possibly selling, already had an offer , but I'd still like to do the interior, plus I absolutely adore this wee 225 it's a special wee car 😜
Hi, this is my old car that I sold to Kevin. I actually passed you on the day you collected it. I was In the sapphire cosworth as you entered the roundabout in Irvine. The wee car has had a ton of maintenance done to it including a new clutch and haldex service. Keep up the good work!
Ahhhhh no way .....I remember the cosworth passing thinking , yeah I'd have one of them ! Yeah well had a ton more work done now , she's in phenomenal condition now a wee belter , and Glazier Blue has to be one of the best colours ! Just done the Haldex again, about to customise the interior 😜
@ me and my son bought it and done quite a bit, however too many projects and sold it to Kevin. I have loads of photos that I can send you. Good to see it getting the attention it deserves.
@@scottishbeavershire that would be awesome .....if you see Kevin he'll give you my number , or message on Instagram @ravenrestoprojects .....don't fancy giving my details out here in public 🤣🤣! Yeah she had quite a bad oil leak , but those engines are prone at the back right , so got a new rocker cover gasket , did a while silicone hose upgrade, brand new OEM wings and sills from Audi, Coilovers, new alloys , yeah great handling wee car 😜
No sport inside blue square at bottom bud
I'll have a go at reworking the cad , just let me know where to send the STL file to
@RavenRestoProjects did you paint them also bud
@@richardscott5898 yeah dude did the whole lot , happy to make the cad file up for you and email it , but I'm just rammed busy to make and paint etc otherwise I would have 👍🏻
@RavenRestoProjects no worries man that's awsome thanks cars looking awsome
@@richardscott5898 just ping me an email address and I'll get it to you once I've done the cad
We're did you get badges mate
I made them 👍🏻
@@RavenRestoProjects would you make some 240 ones at all mate
Have you got a file for this mate at all
@@richardscott5898 sorry was out, so you want it with 240 instead of 225 with quattro ?
@RavenRestoProjects and maybe sport in bottom of blue square what are prices bud
Looks great Stu. Well done.
Very nice work! Where did you get the 225 badges? Cheers from Canada
Much appreciated, I made them myself 😜
Really nice job
Looking good! First thoughts on the wheels were "too modern" looking, but they actually suit it really well.
Yeah wheels are most definitely like clothes on a car , personal taste 😁, but that anthracite diamond cut just goes really well and breaks up the curves .......though I guess you could argue that the other way to , thanks for the feedback though always welcome and appreciated 👍🏻
Looking good Stuart, personally I would take off the side badges, keep the rears and get set of spacers? Had some on my TT and thought it just helps wheels fill out the arches. Looking forward to the next update!
Ahhhh I love the side badges 🤣 but appreciate the feedback , have thought about spacers might look into it 👍🏻
great stuff...
Yeah she's a wee belter now 😜
Gorgeous looking TT nice work looking forward to the next one
Appreciated 👍🏻
DO YOU HAVE THE FILE? AND OTHER TO TT? TY
incroyable ce matériel !
Did you sand the insides of the lens? Im currently restoring mine and removed the lens itself and noticed this thick paste on the inside that is nearly impossible to sand off
I didn't have to on these ones , but yes I have on a previous set, though they didn't have a paste on them , should have been on with an automotive gum strip which you heat and pull off , not really sure what the paste is ?
Nice overhaul 👌 Iv just bought a TT 225 as a daily logging it over on my channel 👍
Great wee engines if you look after them 😜
I want to keep the same brushed silver is there anyway to match it with the vinyl
Hey Gary, how'd you mean , as in use a silver vinyl ? You can definitely buy brushed and Matt silver vinyls 👍🏻
Hi, Came across this this morning Believe it or not this is my old car ,I owned it in 2001 - 2004 Car looks in reasonable condition I sold it to Scottish motor services in Charing Cross Glasgow ,I changed the oil every three months in that engine ,and polished it regularly Regards Kenny
Ahhhhhh no way 🤣🤣!! Well , I bought it from someone in Ayr, lived in a castle believe it or not
Apologies Lewis , a bit more time to reply this time , was out! So yeah I bought this from a young guy whose grandparents lived in a castle in Ayrshire , stunning building, he was in the process of selling it and contents etc as sadly they had passed on, the Z3 had been dry stored and parked up in like an old bakery / garage building to the house / castle , it had a seized alternator , and nedded a few bits and bobs, sensors done to get it back on the road, was on about 52k miles i think which was very low seeimg as how ot hadn't driven in about 15 years or so , ended up looking great again , lovely cars
Those 3d printed switches are sweet stu nice one 👍
Appreciated, they turned out not to shabby 😉
Nice one ...sticking with your original colour or completely changing it ? I kept with Glacier Blue , had to get an analysis done on the colour as there were 7 variations of it , probably easier to blend the whole car but as I was doing it myself didn't have that option, hopefully in the daylight and new wheels it'll be subtle
I bought my wings and sills from Audi Hamilton a couple of months back. We plan to get the complete car resprayed so holding out until then before fitting.
Good video, personally I would have cleaned all the lower suspension and used lanoguard at the same time.
Hey Rodger, much appreciated, yeah I might still do the arms for all it's worth , not really a fan of the Lanoguard might stick with Dinotrol and Waxoyl , but I've seen some really nice work with people using Lanoguard 👍🏻👍🏻
I thought the rear adjusters not go on top? Also, not sure if you re-used the top mount bolt at the front but the ones that come on the coilovers are just for transport so not deep enough which will cause knocking if you use them. Enjoying the content, cheers!
Hey rich, appreciate the input , I'm not sure about the rear adjusters, they didn't fit on top so made the assumption they sat on the bottom, I could be wrong, never used them before , figured it made more sense on the bottom for adjusting , and yeah I reused the rubber mount and bolt along with new bearings for the front ........I'm now hoping I have the rears on properly 🤣, soon find out when the new wheels arrive !! Much appreciated thank you 😜
Cracking video and job mate, can’t wait to see the final one 👌
love those colours!
Nice! I'm getting ready to fit coilovers as well looks like it could have problems ha ha
Ahhhh just take your time and be prepared to heat, cut a few rusty bolts 😂, fingers crossed yours will be easy to do , good luck 🤞🏻
Another great video Stu. Loved it.👏👏👏
Ahhhh you're too kind, much appreciated 👍🏻
Do coilovers lower the ride height or is that optional? Been trying to get new sill covers as well but no Lucknow yet. Really enjoying your videos
Appreciated , Audi have loads in stock if you're wanting brand new ones. Yeah these particular Coilovers are lower than standard even at there highest setting as the drop links supplied are about 30/50mm shorter straight out the box, once I've got the new wheels on ......I might get a shock 🤣🤦🏻
Hi Terrific job to date , I’m also replacing sills on my 225 , did you replace grommets or re use old ones on your new sills
If you mean the small plastic drain water away parts , yeah I managed to use the existing ones and had one missing anyway , so I'll need to replace one 😜
Great installment. thanks
Appreciated 👍🏻
The vinyl colour is lovely, but why wrap a car when paint work is good ?
Hey @bigthewig9624 always thought silver looks dated , personal preference I guess , just felt the grey lifted the car to look a bit more modern espically with the internal carbon vinyl etc, just something I'd always wanted to do !
Great job. Would be interesting to know what you spent on all the new parts and approx how many man hours of labour. That would give us a realistic idea of the cost of such a project. I have a BMW 2.8 roadster, 1997, with 38,000 miles and it hasn't been moved for 5 years. Thanks
Hey John , yeah agree and fair point , I just started doing these projects as a bit of fun so didn't quite appreciate that level of detail. All in including fixing , buying and wrapping the car was around £3k , bearing in mind it was the 1.9i engine.
Just watched your youtube video on this ...awesome , going to have a bash at this !!
Genuinely easy enough to do, patience and prep 😜, good luck
Great video...on my list of to do's!
Hi,Do you do product reviews? We produce LEDs for auto. Can we invite you to do a review for our product? If so,How can we connect with you
Based in Scotland I'm afraid , not USA
Great channel and interesting build will be following it. I would like to do the same as you with replacing all the hoses. Any chance you could link to the hose sets that you purchased from MTC? Thanks
mtcmotorsport.co.uk/products/mtc-motorsport-audi-tt-210-225-bam-apy-amk-apx-silicone-coolant-hose-kit-blue That's the main coolant hose set, on top of that you'll need intercooler, turbo intake / outlet , servo and crank breather, just depends how much you want to do, all in was just shy of £500
Great work that, Id never get away with doing them inside the house thats for sure 😅
😂 I have an upstairs loft conversion....indoor studio for doing wee bits and bobs 😉
Looking good 👌, I used the Cerakote restoration kit that comes with wipes and a ceramic finish, worked really well on last headlights I did, if they are quite scratched it would need the method you have used tho
I would definitely buy these
Please dich the Perl and Dean music, then perhaps I will have another go at watching, Sorry.
🤣🤣 can't please everyone I'm afraid , appreciate the feedback though , I'm just doing it for fun and spending time with my dear old dad for as long as we have left , thanks again though and apologies
put a forge fmdv008 metal housed recirculating valve on it to replace the bosh plastic one you won't regret it
Hey morning......I'm going to Google that right now 🤣 appreciated 👍🏻
I have 3 of those mtc motorsport pipes left over. The one in the middle double bend goes on the right hand side of the engine. Comes off one of the plastic parts. I will have a look on mine. The other 3 pipes I have over as well.
@@v6hot ahhhhh top man , thanks for that , so much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻and makes me feel a bit better, must be engine variations across other platforms then
@@RavenRestoProjects mine is one of the first cars with the apx engine on a 2000 plate
I had a leak in my rocker cover gasket too. Did you notice any oil in the spark plug well?
Luckily sparks well all good, leaky number 1 injector though, new seals 👍🏻
@@RavenRestoProjects Happy days! I got the injector seals from Cloud 9. They send you the top and bottom seals as a kit.
@@Joe_Larkin ahhhhh I only got the bottoms was hoping they would supply tops with them .....curses ! I look into that much appreciated 👍🏻
@@RavenRestoProjects No problem, I actually started watching your Z3 video a while back so I was very happy to find that you got the TT BAM to work on!
@@Joe_Larkin yeah she's a wee belter, got Coilovers going on , brand new wings and sills, new alloys, new interior , got alot planned 😜
Good video mate. Nice easy to follow look forward to part 3 :)
Might have to have a bash at this , nice work 😛
Very interesting video as always Stu. Love to see your dad working with you.
Good video. Regarding the injectors it is definitely worth to change also upper seals.
Yeah definitely going back to do those ....I thought they would have came in the kit 👍🏻👍🏻
Great garage, makes such a difference. Enjoyed that.😊
