MCS offers no assurance to Consumers in reality when things go wrong. If a company should cease trading and you contact them for help, they are not interested and send you on a merry -go round. Eventually you'll be asked if you paid by credit card and suggest you contact them. Seriously, they are not fit for purpose.

At 29.35 on the video you said to check the SPD by pressing the RCD test button. What has the RCD to do with the SPD? Then at 30.20 you state that it is OK to use plastic SPD enclosures in domestic premises. Firstly, some of them, like the Wylex have a main switch. Secondly, the regs state "and similar enclosures". I would have thought that this is similar. A Wiring Matters article on the subject stated that the cause of the fires investigated where due mainly to high resistive connections, loose connection, trapped insulation etc, rather than a failed swichgear itself. This same situation can occur in an SPD enclosure.

I personally have found the last NAPIT Code Breaker Publication really helpful. For he most part I agree or at least see a sensible perspective behind the opinions given. I hope to review this new publication and share my findings with others no matter what CPS they belong to.
