This is absolutely not the same thing. You cannot want to look black, wear our hairstyle, be a caricature of what you think being black is, and then be quiet on the problems every black peoples faces everyday because of there skin color. You know what I mean. Black people are treated like nothing in a lot of country because of this and girls like her are taking advantage of what is socially « pretty » for black people but do not stand up for us when there’s issues. When I was a kid I used to do braids (still do) and at school the other kids were always laughing at me saying that didn’t have hair underneath, that I was bald that every black girls don’t have hair and that’s why we do this. But now it became « beautiful » so the same girls that were laughing at me are now doing it. But when it’s them, they don’t get criticized the same. No because they are white and so they have long and beautiful straight hair, not like us. And that’s where the problem is. If it wasn’t for all of this no one would care if jesy likes to be darker.

She braids her hair or puts weave in because it’s her hair and she likes it. And it’s sad that I see more light individuals fighting for Black Lives Matter then I see dark individuals yet you seem to think light people don’t like dark. she likes her skin tanned so what. The way you dress, Act, or look does not belong to a single race. Especially given the Term “Race” was made up by colonizers. You are using a term made up by a bunch of White supremest a few centuries ago. And she was tanning long before fame. Get over yourself. She is in a predominantly white country (United Kingdom) that has beauty standards that align with Pale, Blue eyed, Blond, Slim, Petite. She isn’t being deemed beautiful or pretty half the time and is bullied for being considered “fat”. I wish you western would see past Color of Skin and Grow. Black people making a parody of the race that enslaved them is entirely different to when the enslaving race (white people) makes caricatures/profits off of the ones they enslaved. The US history is a gruesome one whether you like it or not and it makes people uncomfortable to acknowledge it because it gives each of us a sense of responsibility. We can't undo the past but what we can do is to stop doing things that harm Black people, even if it's as simple as not blackfishing. Black people get fired from jobs for wearing their hair in protective styles, but when white people do it it becomes a trend. Black people get discriminated against for being dark skinned, they literally get profiled by the police just on skin color and can get shot for being black, but now it's "cool" when white people tan to be darker than some Black people. People used to make fun of black people's full lips, but now everyone wants lip fillers. Do you see what's wrong here when White people are celebrated for having characteristics Black people are shamed for?
