The wings get real lousy at making lift while rolled sideways. That little landmine is the #1 killer of planes though it's usually on the base/final turn for a landing (low + slow + elevator turn). Spend a bunch of time crashing virtual planes in Real Flight etc. and you'll get a feel for it. The other thing I find helpful is programming a throttle curve in to my TX to give increased control over the throttle at the low end of it. Don't be afraid to fly a beat up plane that's half duct tape and construction glue, it'll keep you humble and suppress the urge to fly balsa until you can do it with only minimal time/money spent repairing it. Keep flying!

That super timber looks like it has some really bad stall characteristics. Check out the other super timber crash videos, they look just like yours. It drops the leftwing and goes into a quick spin. Almost looks like its a heavy plane so keeping speed up is probably important. I wouldnt be buying another one. Its not worth the bad characteristics

At about 5:30 you made a statement about using less throttle when going down wind and just letting the wind push the plane. Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. It's all about ground speed vs air speed. The plane reacts only to air speed, which is how fast it's moving relative to the surrounding air. Going downwind, the speed you see (ground speed) is airspeed plus wind speed. Going upwind, what you see is air speed minus the wind speed. For example, if the plane flies at 30 mph and the wind is 10 mph, the ground speed will be only 20 mph when going upwind, but will be a whopping 40 mph when going downwind. It is tempting to reduce the throttle when going downwind, but it is not wise to do so. Sorry about your crash. We've all been there.

all RC has an expiration date, some come earlier than others, boats sink, cars crash, and airplanes fall out of the sky, if this was your first it won't be your last, so grab the glue, put it back together and go have fun.....Thats what it's all about.

It could have been a stall but I'd bet your elevator broke or came disconnected. Timbers in general won't just stall and spin like that.

AS3X won't save you from a stall-spin. It can make it worse by trying harder to compensate further deepening the stall. Neutralize the inputs and pray you have enough altitude.

Happens to me every time I try to do something too damned low. Sorry for your loss there.

This happened on my super timber too found out that battery tray lock don’t stay secured it’s on top of esc when you do a simple loop and land push up the lock, battery tray will be loose. Beware

Did you do any stall tests prior to this stall? It looks like it had an elevator stall. or the elevator gave ot on one side. I've had my elevator break in half with a high G pull out from a dive. The plastic coupler broke. I was able to save it flying with full left rudder and left aileron to land it. I got super lucky. It was the plastic coupler that couples the two halves together. It slipped out of mine due to being cracked.

I've done the same thing with my buddy's timber. It flies so well that you get too comfortable until you are too low too slow and turn too sharp and you're in a spin. A harder plane to fly won't have me doing that because I'll actually be more focused ironically.

I have had many stalls with the super duper timber , I have saved every one , mostly luck , mostly doing stupid stuff in moderate to heavy winds

Yep.. Done that too.. It doesn't fly like the lighter TT 1.5 or Evo... She will stall... Fun plane, but has a bad habit that will bite.... Sorry....
