A channel where I can showcase my builds and my racing, hopefully we both learn something along the way
WHAT’S IT WORTH?
I fix the problems that popped up at the last race event by getting the driveshaft balanced and a new diff installed and I also find out what the car is worth. Obviously, it's only worth what somebody is willing to pay but I'm not putting it up for sale so the value is just a topic of discussion.

I had a very good local autocross event where I tried different shock settings and the car really responded. I won my class but I also broke the car on my last run

Problems and Solutions

I took the car for a test drive and some problems popped up that had to be addressed. One of these problems made for an embarrassing introduction at its first car show.

what. was your 1/4 mile time?
I did it while the driveshaft was still shaking like crazy so I lifted early, the time was 12.2 seconds @ 119 mph
@@SKIDMARKperformance Thanks for the reply. Was just curious
Congratulations! 👏👏👏
That’s awesome! My guess at 150k is insulting, so did you just lock tight the throw out bearing adjuster ?
I think your guess is probably more realistic and likely outcome if I were to sell it but it just takes a couple of people who really want it to push the price up. Either way, the appraisal only matters to the insurance company
Great video, thanks for sharing. Highly recommend you swap the TO Bearing to the Tilton. I have heard of this problem from a few different people with that bearing. Tilton uses a post to hold the adjustable base from rotating.
I bought the trans, bellhousing, clutch and to bearing as a kit and it was very reasonably priced. I'm not upset about it but am debating replacing it over the winter
congratulations Mark. That is a great reflection on your efforts. Thank you for brining us along!
The most reliable thing about a hydraulic throw-out bearing is that they will reliably fail. They are a great idea on paper and a lot of OEM applications, but never heard of a good outcome with a hot rod.
Awesome!
Can I email you. I am restoring a 67 camero with electric hide away lights but I'm having issues with the relays and motors. If I could pick your brain, is really appreciate. My name is Adrian by the way

Was fortunate enough to get a ride in this car at the event and holy shit. I’ve never been in a car like it. The power, The driving skills and the attention to detail in the build. Absolutely insane. Can’t wait to see it again
I hope it's even better next time I race it and I need to learn how to drive a car like this better. Glad you enjoyed it, do you think I need to add a handle for passengers to hold onto?
@@SKIDMARKperformancea grab handle would be perfect😂 I could barely stay in the damn seat through the turns😂
$150000 No laps at Gimli yet?
In good time I’ll make it to the road course
125000 US dollars, low. Also I live down the road in Scottsdale from where you got you windows.
You only use a lap belt ?
I also have 4 point harnesses installed but only use the lap belts for daily use and local autocross because the harnesses are so cumbersome to use.. I am trying to find some custom belts that will be easier to use

Great to see someone build a great and beautiful car and go out every chance they get and beat the hell out of it!!! Giv’um Hell !!! Congratulations on the 🥇
Maybe u should get a Toyota Hilux diff
yeh, they are indestructible
How awesome is your life !
I’m having a great year

I follow TCS on insta, looking forward to working with them on my own project someday.
TMI obviously does not stand for Too Much Information when it comes to their carpet kits.
Not much advice on carpet or door panel installation
I was just waiting for that string to yank you back lol. I was surprised you yanked it out, I was fearing for the paint.
Exponential growth is a thing. Body work is an artform that takes years to master. Keep practicing 😊
Yeh, I need my bodywork skills to match up with my fabrication skills
Was that Chip or Dale reading the colour list?
Chip of course
Thanks for sharing your video, I am confused as to why you cut out only a small amount of metal? That amount of weight saving will do nothing. And did you cut out the bashed in bit that someone did for a hei?
The firewall is one of the things I wish I could re-do. I would cut the whole thing out and make a new one from one piece of sheet metal
Thanks for the overwhelm tip! I can get like that as well. PS. How was dinner? 😄
💯☀🏁
Music way too loud !😣
Sorry, I’m more conscious of background music now
“The rear tires have done significantly more than 1000 miles” lol. You don’t say! Looking great Mark!
Oh boy modified cars are fun! I've recently upgraded my MGB's SBC to some inexpensive aluminum heads, guess you get what you pay for, have 3 now and all have nad rocker stud locations, bit the bullet and bought ProFiler heads this week, sending the 3 offshore heads back. While down decided to add a MSD box, after days of no spark turns out my MSD (year old) coil was insufficient for the box. The fun continues (am loving your beautiful Camaro)
All said,I think you got off easy. Think of what your life would be like if you built these projects for other people who paid a lot of money and expect it to be perfect out the door!
Yeh, these things were pretty minor. The driveshaft is irritating and I'll get it properly balanced once I take the exhaust off to seal up the joints. I have a part time job restoring old British cars for customers and sometimes, no matter how maticulous we are or how many test drives we take, customers come back with strange little problems. We did a really nice Triumph TR6 and the customer called to complain that we hadn't installed seat belts, and he wouldn't bring the car back unless we paid for a flat deck truck. My boss drove over there to see what's up and there was the seat belt, just draped over the transmission tunnel-the customer didn't even apologize for all our wasted time.
great video - very good camera work - very much appreciated. I was curious about where you routed your engine harness - I'm about to cut a hole through my 1969 Camaro firewall for my PSI LS3 harness - I plan to use vintage air but haven't purchased it yet, but I certainly don't want interference between the harness and the vintage air system - would appreciate any advice you could give. I am also wondering which version vintage air system you used - maybe you mentioned it in the videos and I missed it.
I used Vintage Air part number 561190 and the center of the hole for my engine harness is 6 inches from center on passenger side and 4.5 inches down from top of cowl. It does not interfere with Vintage Air kit but any further to passenger side and it would.
@@MarkSawatsky Thank you very much for the information Mark - very much appreciated!! I think I understand your response clearly but just to be sure - I'm reading this as 6 inches from center ( I'm thinking center of tunnel - not sure how best to identify center - any suggestions other than a reasonable estimate?) and 4.5 inches from top of firewall where cowl/vent grille sits. I'm reading your vintage air to be a gen IV and I'm thinking I'll end up with a gen V which according to what I read yesterday should have the same dimensions at the firewall, and so I'm thinking your information helps me to clearly ID my hole location and allow me to drill. Appreciate the quick response too! Todd
You allowed a corolla to beat u! C’mon man! 😮😢
I don't know if I can survive this shame
Good Looking! - Not just the car...
Camaro looks great, I can’t wait to get mine back on the road.
(From GRM). The fender camera showed the rear axle was really moving around. Was that a really rough course or was it just before you cranked up the dampers?
It's a very rough site, that camera location always shows the wheels moving around a lot. The race car was the same
Casper is really nice and all, but of the two white cars, I am jealous of Brigette's. 😜
Awesome sauce 👍🔨
Looking Good!
👏👏👏
Hey dude. It was awesome meeting you there today! You've got a sweet camaro there. Good luck with the driveshaft
Thanks, I hope to get it sorted soon
Use a pice of 1/8” or 3/16 cold roll steel to weld in for panel gap. U probably already know just trying to help
The emotional ending says it all. I felt that from personal experience
Great videos. Thanks! May I ask where you source that smaller aux 3-gauge pod?
Speedway Motors
10:35 for your first outing at the ring is an awesome laptime!
That was my 2nd lap, the 3rd lap was a 9:58, which I'm happy about
Thats my dream
The smile says it all. 😎
I have no skills. If I ever do this, 1st step will be ring taxi. Congrats on the laps and the trip.

So cool 😎
Cannot wait to see this thing on the road!
Hi Mark, aren't one off street cars fun (I'm 10+years in on my MUCH simpler SBC MGB) and everytime time I do another upgrade they seem to affect everything around them (recently changed the upper end of current engine, aluminum head/intake/carb.), and been finessing it for a couple weeks to get it right (close). My chassis is WAY basic, manual brakes/steering so they've been trouble free for years. I like the exotic nature of your Camaro comparatively though. And yep, I love it.
Yes, they are exciting but sometimes the research and development can be a bitch. Doing a bunch of R can save you D but ultimately you gotta do the D, lots and lots of D
@@SKIDMARKperformance Just bolts on, lol
Love it 😍
