Great playing, Ben.
Desperate battle of the birds is one my favorite piobreached . You played it super fantastic . Nice job cheers
"Tulloch Castle" is usually listed as "traditional" but Jim McGillivray has its composer as Roddy Campbell.
Superb playing and beautifully balanced pipe 😊what pipe chanter Ben please
G1
Ben Duncan that was really good. And your drones sound perfectly tuned. Over looking & sounding razor sharp.
❤❤❤❤😢😢😢😢😢😢💐💐💐💐💐🍻🍻🍻🍻
As a proud American of Scottish decent it always brings a tear and pride to me to hear the bagpipes. Every tune is filled with pride and sorrow
and the strathspeys, hornpipes jigs and reels?
That was lovely to listen to.👌
Fantastic piping, Sir!! You're a true inspiration to me!
This is some quality piping. Great tune selection and great tone of instrument 👍
Fantastic stuff Ben! Pipes booming.
Brilliant MSR playing and very musical tune selection. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
it's definitely between this guy angus macoll and gillies
Rip voor allemaal die gedood zijn in oorlogstijd en voor families die hun dierbaren moeten missen ❤😢
Lovely sound. What is your current setup out of curiosity?
Well played young man. That was very entertaining and technically beautiful. Am definitely going to listen and watch this video many times as should all budding Piobaireachd players.
Great stuff Ben 👍👍
cool
❤❤❤❤
Proud to have Scottish ancestry. From Clan McKenzie. The bagpipes have always touched my soul like no other musical instrument.
flawless
It is good to find another performance of this little-known masterpiece on UA-cam.
Love the pipes and this music
Superb! Love Bob O’ Fet!! Thankyou for posting!
Amazing tribute!
Amazing stuff!
beautiful birl
is it just me, or is this bagpipe tuned incredibley high?
My great grandfathers war flag is over his right shoulder, i know he loved this, i never met him he died in WW1
I enjoyed your playing. You set a good mood with your tartan table coverings.

All of Scotland in one hallowed space. The feeling in there is palpable. Once you have been in there you will never forget it 😢🏴
Beautiful, Remember the Fallen 🙏🏼☦️🙏🏼
Beautiful.
Why doesn’t this video have more views, you have to ask yourself… In my opinion as a piper, most pipers are scared to even look at Piobaireachd (even though it preceded everything they know on the pipes). Lament for the Children is an exquisite tune and this is an excellently played version. Long live Piobaireachd.
I have only been playing the pipes for a year (and I am around 60). Piobaireachd is what I most want to play, and I am currently learning my first one.
Fantastic
Really great, but I don't understand why the 1st variation singling is played as even couplets when they are written as dot-cut....? Maybe it's just me, but I think the dot-cut setting sounds more interesting.
This is the way that Andrew Wright was taught the tune by the Bobs of Balmoral and how he delivered it to me. The printed score is a mere guide in Piobaireachd, which doesn’t encompass the different styles and musical nuances that have taken hold throughout the centuries. I too also like the other setting but for me this approach balances nicely with the variation that follows. Not the most common approach though 👍🏻. Cheers
Pibroc’h is the soul of Great Highland Bagpipes…the Big Music, Ceòl mor.
My favourite bagpipe song ... i'm french , but my heart is in Scotland .. wonderful country ... 😌
Thank you, I really enjoyed that
Sounding great! Beautiful music.
(New?) Pipes sounding great, and a very fitting tribute!
Thanks Jack, he was a huge inspiration to me. Reference the pipe, it’s a new David Glen by Peter Weidig at Kintail. Really enjoying them 👍🏻
Lovely job!
I'd be very content if I could play even half as well, sir.
Well done Pipe Major. I very much admired your D doublings in the march!
As an englisman the scottish bagpipes seem to stir some ancient emotion embedded in my genes when certain music is played. This is one of them.
A very moving tribute
Wow, what a sound. And a really good MSR.
