I saw this show... in the mammoth Gershwin theatre... and when the front curtain transitioned thru the scrim to reveal the mammoth victorian houses... it took my breath away. The production had some troubles, but overall, it was enchanting. thanks for uploading and prompting a revisit to a happy theatre memory.

Gosh, the acting in this clip is as bad as the book. "No Other Love" is a beautiful song, but of course, the melody was previously written (for VICTORY AT SEA). And that "Big Black Giant" is a real clunker. As a friend of mine said years ago, "When R&H were bad, they were BAD."

Is it known why this scene was recorded? I assume they were plugging the show on a television program. Why no mention of The Big Black Giant in the heading? M&J is a fave R&H of mine. Would that there was McCracken footage.
