If this is the Goodspeed production that toured (at least to New Orleans), I saw it! Nobody has seen LADY BE GOOD!!!
One of my favorite actresses of all time. Detroit’s very own. ♥️
An absolute masterpiece. I saw it for the first time in October 1982 and went back to see it a number of times after that. Everything about that original cast was PERFECT !!!
cant wait for it to come back here in march!
Any chance of getting the rest of this wonderful production? Pwease???
I'm sorry.. no offense.. but Cagney!
She is amazing. Would have loved to see and hear more from her.
Too close for comfort led me here lol, thanks for sharing this!
Damn! That's an incredible simulation of George Burns. I've never seen Gorshin do Burns before...
This was fascinating and mesmerizing and heartbreaking.
I miss when the lion king famously plays in new Amsterdam theater in New York. I never been there until in 2017 on my 25th birthday, I finally got a chance to see it when they played in Minskoff theater also in New York. I wish to met the original cast as well but rest in heaven from Samuel e wright and of course Jason raize. Beautiful handsome lions on stage. Hope for their next emotional experience when 2027 arrives, it’s gonna be so emotional for them they really meant EVERYTHING to me all my life. It’s like you’re a family to them. I felt so much about them. Cheers to New York. I love y’all so much. 🦁
Jack Benny was actually a very good violin player.
I chatted with Sandy one night on FB....what a lovely lady. So nice.
lamb chops
I saw this show when Loretta Swit was in the cast. It was the most-memorable musical I saw in the 1980s, though I didn't care for the ending gimmick. Sweet Charity was the only other one worth remembering.
where in the world did you find this?
when will the second act upload?
im wondering what that guy in the audience felt watching chip just pelvis lean in front of him
What a lovely post! Carol Lawrence was great in this role. I had no idea that she had played this role. Although she’s no longer the soprano of her youth, the smokiness of her chest voice add luster to the role. I found her version of “if you walked into my life “moving because she also acted the role with the great sincerity.
Justin Peck renewed my faith in ballet as a living art form! Great post!
Thanks so much for posting this. I’ve always been curious about this play Barnard Hughes starting the TV series called “Doc” hit me up, only lasted 1-2 seasons. But I watched it as a kid. So as a Theater star truck teenager I was excited to see him win a Tony Award for this play. Thanks for this post!
One of the best interpretations of the role. I wish I could have seen this show.
absolutely horrible!!!
I can't help but feel that sense of deepened friendship and camaraderie that these characters and actors have particularly after time has gone by and they are the actual ages of the characters at the beginning/end of the show. It's a heartbreaker in the best of ways
Thank you for this. I saw the original over 20 times (standing room was $10, if I remember right) and as much as I love the movie, it's nice to be reminded what the charm was of seeing her do it all alone was like. I've tried over the years to find a way to contact her and thank her, but never got the right connection.
This show is like quantum physics. Thank you for this.
Harold was my teacher. Much respect. Gwynne Burroughs
Imagine peaking at 14.
Did you attend an art show in Lynchburg around 1983? (Opening announcer-Klein?)
🎉❤😊 utube John Bavas Cabaret
A very under-rated musical play, imo.
still unmatched. perfection.
based on the cast, it's probably the third national around 1994
You are correct
There's a certain Irishman, who lives in NY and President of the June Bronhill Society, who is probably very happy to see this production.
Saw this production twice and could NOT get enough, the best I’ve ever seen Krysta Rodriguez on stage
This is still, today, my favorite musical and I can sing all the songs from it because I had the song book and the cassette tape and I used to practice from it as a child. My mother and I saw the show when it came through Albany NY
More phantom
perfection 💗
More Phantom Who The Cast?
More Lion King Stuff
HOW DID HE MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY?!?!
Excellent
Dennis always with the hyperbole.
Sarah Brightman lipsyncing the theme song feels weirder by the day
More Phantom
Love Liza but what the F did they do to "Le Jazz Hot?!!!" It's one of the highlights of the show and it looked like something out a 1970s variety show, not a 1920s French gay club.
Ahhhh! This is amazing! Didn’t think there was any footage of her Broadway days! I’m so excited to watch this - she is my all time fav actress
I saw J&H in 1997, that night it became my favorite B'way show. The ultimate performance and hauntingly beautiul score. Met both Robert & Linder after the show, both were so gracious. I still have my photos of them and the autographed PLAYBILL with their names and Christine Knoll. A cherished memory!
