What an honest, painful, yet hopeful interview! This left me gasping for air…my heart is so weary for the suffering black people and people of color have experienced. This conversation brought me to a level of sadness and anger I have not quite experienced. God forgive me for my ignorance and piety in thinking I understood. I must do something. It is on me. I am the problem as Dr Drew said two Sundays ago. Not we…me.

A prophetic Word!

Jesus paid it all song was amazing on today's cozy November weather day.

Amen. Jesus is the only one who can save us. Let's put all our hope, trust, and belief on Him. Let's go all in on Him.

Let's define what we mean by "God." As a member of Bel Air Church's Session has told me and I share, , as a Christian, "God" is the underlying energy behind all we see and experience." That is what we mean when we talk about an underlying divine presence, the divine presence within all things or common humanity.

All glorious riches are yours Lord

Was sent this by a loved one who doesn't believe in Christ. We both teared up when David did. This conversation is a breathe of fresh air in a time where I have felt, in instances, so uncared for by the church and fellow believers. So many still don't believe that racial inequalities affect the black community to the extend that it does. We pray for human ego to fall and humility to rain in the global Church on the matter of race relations. Praying for all of the children of Christ to recognise how to truly love all of their spiritual kin (especially those who are, and have historically been unafforded love and equitable treatment).

There must always be a catalytic moment... but the Lord will move if we humble themselves, repent from our self certainty and pray then God will act.

Thank you both. We will be sharing this with our Ugandan son who is now a citizen of the United States and really struggling with his thoughts and emotions. David, it was a privilege and joy to host your family while you were filming in Uganda a few years ago. Praying for you all in this season.

Saying thank you to you both does not quite feel adequate, but I will say thank you until I can figure out a deeper or more meaningful response to tour conversation. I paused the recording after you shared about the salesman at your door, found a particular friend’s contact info, and reached out to her; I felt I owed her an apology for not speaking up on her behalf years ago, when I felt that she was treated badly because of her skin color. I’m not sure if this will help the greater fight for justice in a big way, but it felt like something I needed to do: to lift her up in some way, to acknowledge a wrong done to her that I did not stand up against.
