I came to Australia in 1985 with my family. Our first family car was a Holden station wagon, I think you know the one. Built like a tank it was. My mum was driving it and hit a tree. The was badly damaged, however the car had a small dent lol.

Was a great time, but my cousin progressed from a slr 5000 to a club sport commodore in early 90’s and was killed in it. Too young, inexperienced and pissed. Into a rock wall at heathcote. Family were destroyed. Also a time when a females breast cancer diagnosis was often a death sentence. Not today. Medicine has improved heaps since then.

The days when just a few hundred dollars got you a nice car. I still think my Holden Sandman - The iconic 70s panel vans were hot. My mate loved his Ford Escort Panel Vans. Australia went down the toilet with the Americans in the 1970s. Before that, it went down the toilet with Britain. Let's just hope China going to be nice.
