テクスチャーの解像度は低いけど明らか1994年のゲーム機のグラフィックじゃないんだよなあ、
1. ITS HER YOU FOOLS! Little late to correct you but SHIPS ARE ALWAY'S FEMALE! 2. Her guns turned slower but the rest was plain SUPPERIOR to the US safe the Radar maybe, but then again... USN radar untill the end of 1940's had a problem : ONLY ONE SURFACE TARGET PER RADAR could be tracked. Wich is also the reason Atago was literarely unchallanged during her final hour's against Washington and Sodak. 3. Dont EVER compare Yamato with the slow ass bad constructed rushed Sodaks and NC's. Iowa class was the ONLY competitor against her and even she has so many flaw's as she was RUSHED that Yamato would basicaly rip them all appart. So yea Missouri would have lost big time even thou damaging yamato in the process. 4. IJN AA, when you look at the sheer data, was supperior to that of the USN. The ONLY difference is that Japan SADLY did only include long to medium range guns. No small calibre of any kind on any ship after 1941, wich was the big plus for the USN. They had small fast tracking guns as well as larger ones. Also electronic systems have NOTHING to do with it, yamato when she set first sail had the most modern autotracker ON EARTH for her AA guns. And yes... those things existed... was supprised too that the 25mm of the IJN far outperforms the 40mm Bofor's (also takes the IJN less shells per gun to kill a plane statisticaly, around 20% less)
As great as this looks, Dreamcast and Shenmue were a perfect match
0:51
it seems somehow IJN got bofors reverse engineered....the USN planes r falling like flies
Damn! It looks impressive for a 32bit game.
Imagine if this came out on the Saturn in 1998. It could've been as big as Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy VII, but of course Sega of America wouldn't have localized it anyway.
I've been recently replaying a bunch of Saturn games, and I got to say, no way in hell is this running on the actual hardware. Not even talking about the 4MB expansion cart here. This got to be either running on a beefy (for the time) PC, or it's an FMV "target render". Just look at Sega AM2's own late Saturn titles like Fighters Megamix or Fighting Vipers - those only need to render two characters on screen and a flat arena floor.
according to this interview (www.phantomriverstone.com/2019/11/part-1-shenmue-discussion-with-yu.html), it is stated: "The team had already remade it once in order to run on a Saturn that had been specially expanded with an acceleration board." The interview is an interesting read; I highly suggest it for Shenmue fans.
leave it to AM2 to make hardware do things it 1000% shouldnt be doing
Play Station fanboys don't like this because they discovered why its console was so much underpowered vs Saturn. This is wonderful, Sega AM2 was the best developer of Saturn and a example to follow.
This is incredible! I would love to play this version on my Saturn. It's crazy how good this looks!!
This would have sold me on the Saturn if this would have came out, at least we have Shenmue 1 and 2 on the Dreamcast and the upcoming Shenmue 3!
I really want the Rom for this
I wish Sega made consoles still existed. The company was always for the true gamers.
This music would be so good for a Shenmue 3 trailer!
I still am stunned whenever I look at this ......the very idea it could have looked that good on Saturn
Finally, the true power of the sega saturn...
Great vid! Will this adapter work with any other old printer or just this?
See what they did thar on the last clip. It's like he's walking around a globe to avoid popping in because of the insanely short draw distance.
Dare I say this, but this looks very close to a PS2 game, although this was released on the Dreamcast later on! May sound exaggerating, but looking at the majority of the PS2 games I've played, and comparing that with this, the polygons look similar enough, with the facial expressions and all. The Saturn had quite a bit of power. My two cents.
A ton of PS2 games began as PS1 games and just beefed up the polygon count. It wasn't until 3 or so years into the life of the PS2 that developers even started using the vector units.
Sega should had Sonic extreme or sonic world the whole game with Shenmue on Sega Saturn at least their last few games. they could had Shenmue on both Saturn and Dreamcast. Dreamcast should played Sega Saturn games on it.
If Shenmue and VF3 appear in SS, SS may win because their techni still not fully develop
this looks better then ps1 and n64 games! The Sega Saturn was a powerful machine! Panzer dragoon Sage is the perfect example!
Well, if you get a bit technical, the N64 is a way better machine than the saturn, faster, more ram, etc. The Psx tho, well, it was pretty on par with the Sat.
JohnSams PSX had very underpowered hardware for its day, but the people didn't knew that Saturn was really more powerful than Playstation.
how hard are these to mod?
I would LOVE this music to be used for the Shenmue 3 trailer!
This is amazing how sega could even get this game to near completion on the sega saturn during the mid 90s.
Love the music here. That didn't end up in the final game, did it?
They intended this game for it because it was suppose to show and see if a sandbox Game Would work, so they can show the true Saturn Potential Trust me, Saturn had the potential to be better than the ps1 in terms of running in a higher frame rate with out sacrificing the polygons, Texture, not Fucking up lighting, weathering and alot the Dreamcast had but Saturn Did great Sega was mindblown when it actually tested the Saturn Full Potential and was known that... Wait for it.... The game was supposed to be released for the system as it was great and all Shadowing wasn't like PS1 but it got way better than the PS1! Shenmue for the Saturn would of Push the limit of Saturn with 4/5 Disc to play the game! I think they made a good choice for the dreamcast for the game but it would of been great for Saturn! ICO Was also shown for the PS1, Showing the Full potential of PS1 also ! It looked great for the PS1 as the lighting and shadowing looked great and everything The game was Delayed and was, instead, made for the ps2
lol they find the fleet 1:23 xD
oh gawd :c
Wow! This is far beyond anything the PSX was capable of.
Mitjitsu Meh PS1 was still better
Demon Rantz I think Saturn owners got the last laugh now.
Demon Rantz PS1 was better of lighting and stuff But Sega Used something that No Developers ever heard of for the system If they had a change, they would of teach them how to understand it Damn if they ever made a Dreamcast 2, this system would of been better than PS4 And Xbox One
Anthony Jr. Rodriguez Sega doesn't have enough money to make consoles again.
I know but still
Holy crap. That looks like a masterpiece.
my god for a Saturn game this looks amazing if it was released back then I bet it would of come on about 6 discs lol.
Sega Saturn AND Dreamcast were underrated by far and ahead of their time. If Sega hadn't stopped making consoles, imagine what the current generation Sega would be like. Unfortunately we'll never know.
Infinite Spectrum They were great at making consoles but they sucked in financial ways
very impressive for the sega saturn. I actually like the look of low tech games.
Wait, is that Lip Sync for this System???? My gawd, this game is better than the PS1 System
@@CaptainNight Popful Mail for Sega CD had lip sync too.
Looks better than any playstation or n64 game that I've seen.I would like to see them release this one if only a playable demo oh yeah give us shemue 3 already!!!
From what I'm seeing it seems they had both Shenmue 1 & 2 planned for the Saturn. My question is, how many discs would this have taken?
a lot of them
probably still the 4 disk that it originally takes. or probably make a separate disk format for it.
i suppose that would be take between 6 to 8 discs
We can do a rough calculation. The Dreamcast GD-CD formats could hold 1GIG each per disc. The Saturn could hold 680 MB. Shenmue 1 comes on 3 disc (not including the bonus content just the game) that is 3000 MB. The Saturn would have needed 5 discs to cover that. However if the last disc of Shenmue uses all of the space I don't know. Also with the graphics engine being different it would probably take different amount of space. But a rough calculation puts it at about 4-5 discs I would say.
While it is amazing to see the Sega Saturn's full potential, the game looks pretty laggy and the pixels… wow, the pixels… Glad it came out on Dreamcast instead.
WaCoMo I would argue we saw the Saturn's full potential with Panzer Dragoon Saga.
I kind of prefer the jacket-less, arm band wearing look of Ryo in this version.
Man this is impressive....
This is definitely beyond sega saturn. The poly count on the face is between ps1 and ps2 (look at ffx: high poly head/face and lower poly count for the body).
the sega saturn could push between 500000 and 700000 polygons per second whie ps1 could only push 360000 your all stupid for buying one THERE I SAID IT!
It's the games that count, and Sega of America refused to localize a ton of top Saturn games that ended up coming to America as PlayStation exclusives like Dead or Alive, Grandia, Lunar, etc.
I see so many Sony/Micro$oft haters now planning to get a PS4 just to play the sequel...and it fuckin amaze me, i want the Shitboxone user, just to buy the whole PS4 JUST! to play Shenmue Give em the fucking money and let them do a game never seen on 15 years LOL HAIL THE ALL MIGHTY SEGA , YU SUZUKI AND AM2 Enterprises! ALWAYS ON OUR GAMER HEARTS, DREAMCAST NEVER FAILED TO US, I BURNED OFF 4 SHITBOX 360, AND DREAMCAST WORKS STILL TODAY LIKE THE FIRST TIME I SWITCH IT ON ! HAIL TO DC
Wow, someones a giant fanboy...
fanboy? no . i just speak the truth. next?
And they said... 'The Saturn can't handle Polygons...' This is SO IMPRESSIVE for a 32Bit System from 1994!!
xXxCrYuSxXx sorry i dont know if its right, the new tube is weird, btw, i'm of your same idea, maybe the story follow a virtua fighter rpg style and it was much more short, 1 game only, and after they moved to DC Yu write the story of Ryo...who knows, maybe he will explain all in the conf. in 2014 about Shenmue, regards, Rydo.
I know, right? I've been thinking that maybe the whole Shenmue series has been finished for a long time and just never been released.
Weird seeing scenes from both Shenmue and Shenmue II in the Saturn version.
"blahblahblah"-you you're a nerd, I can't believe you got offended by that little thing he said and then you wrote all that. fanbois are such virgins lool
I know this is 8months old, but why exactly are you defending the Saturn? Sega isn't even that great of a company, at least the PS1 didn't have a buttload of useless attachments. Sega ruined themselves, Sony came in as a new competitor and over enough said. If someone new can instantly take over the market that's saying something about the previous competition/.
It sorta Looks Like OLD Manga back in the day...
