Much noise
Radio in Air nand
Radio in Air band Fecility
I have one from 2008.
The telescopic antenna on my set is broken. Can anyone please tell me what is the impedance needed for a new one. Thanks
I bought the 7600GR and was good until it died four years later because of a faulty volume knob..
Hello, I bought a new one in 1995 and I was very happy with this radio. One day I sold it after having it for more than 15 years and today I bought another one in very good aesthetic and operating condition and I am very happy to use it again on all because of the magnificent sound it has and the great quality of reception of the radio stations and above all because of the red and green synchronization tuning leds that nobody was able to replicate in other brands, I use it with the external Sony antenna an- 1 which is the best active antenna ever made by Sony and which I had kept since that year 1995, greetings and thanks for the video.
To make sure that this radio does not make sense to be bought, you need to watch this video. If there are a lot of very many words and not a single real radio station is received, this is just the case.
Thanks for taking the time to make 5his video. Just picked up this at a garage sale for $10 bucks in original box with $145.00 Sears price tag. Only missing an external antenna.
You didnt tune to any SSB HF stations.I was hopeing you would. Also world time on 5mg,10mgs and 15mgs.I live down in New Zealand and have owned this radio for more than 20 years.Still performs like new !
Excellent review j just bought 1 will hav it nxt week look forward to using it .thanks again
Major difference between sw7600, sw7600g, sw7600gr
Everyone wants a knob 😆 I personally prefer the tuning mechanism that's on this for mobile use less things to get damaged, I have the 7600 before this one great reception with the PLL and SSB just has the capacitor issue a little hiss still use it regularly though tough old thing 👍
The SW7600G uses a pretty aggressive low-pass filter to reduce the AF bandwidth even in the MUSIC tone switch position, which makes for noticeably better channel separation at the cost of fidelity. (A 3 kHz lowpass is already built into the CXA1376 IC used.) Compare to a modern DSP radio and you will see the difference. I compared the Digitech AR-1780 and SW 7600G side by side and Digitech beat it hands down. The LW/MW sound on the Digitech is comparable to FM while the Sony is muffled and ear straining. What you would expect for a BW of 3KHZ.
Thank you for sharing about the Tone switch, I've always thought that the News/Music settings were just Sony's fancy terms for "bass" and "treble". Had no idea that the tone switch circuitry also worked in conjunction with the audio filter bandwidth. My own SW7600G is sadly non functional (won't power on), probably due to corrosion from leaked AA alkaline batteries. Evidently I had stored the radio for a long time but had totally forgotten to remove the batteries first. ☹️
The universe comes from the inner wall of a picture tube through gravity that projects mass. Big bang turns it on. Electrons are controlled by gravity: the only force. Antimatter is fake. It is a reflection of projective gravity. Antimatter is the same as SWR in radio! We are in a computer.
Will this work after a EMP?
I own one of these from way back... but for the life of me I cannot now see the point with the advent of the internet, UA-cam and Digital Radio.... but thanks for the review. I will keep mine for who know's what is ahead!
with the current affairs of the world, it may come handy. don’t take the internet access for granted.
I must gave an older version...no colored buttons...do I need to do some kind of firmware update?
I just bought one at an estate sale for $20. Excellent condition with manual. Now I just need to learn how to use it. Great Video.
Wow what a bargain price you get! I bought one when it came out around $200+
Brian..excellent review. Thank you.
I have one. It's a great little radio. I like that I can use it on SSB as well as CW since I am a ham. Barry
Hoje does it compare to the sw 7600g?
Great review my friend :) Thanks for sharing 73!
Only a red led light comes on when you are right on a station,no strenght meter. This radio lacks a Tuning dial and signal strenght meter, otherwise Sony did a fine job produceing this radio,Great entry radio for the first time SW listener.
Very crisp audio on SSB.Excellent sensitivity on all AM & SW stations compared to alot of newer SW portable receivers,Only thing thats missing is the Tuning dial,of which would be alot better to use than the up & down tuning buttons.
افضل نسخة من نسخ 7600
CC Skywave SSB AM, FM, Shortwave, Weather, VHF, Aviation and SSB Bands Portable Travel Radio is better
I would like a tuning wheel🤔
Nice job!!! Thanks for the 3916 promo!!!
I bought one of these exact units in 1989 for a sailboat trip to the uk. used it for time checks to synchronise my watch for time check from Hawaii to navigate using a sextant..... still have this unit and it performed well. Older than U think Shortwave. Me

Thank you for this. I recently bought one for around £22. I t was described as "having problems". These happened to be that there was no FM when you pressed the FM select. The other was numbers 4, 5 and 6 on the keypad do not work. I work around this by using the SW band selector and presets. Its a really good on SW, MW and LW. 73s
Nine minutes into the video and he hasn't even taken the radio out of the box. Thumbs down for wasting our time.
Just picked up one and has the pouch, looks brand new, nice heavy feel. The speaker sounds great to me considering the size of it. It's going to be my travel radio also.
Shortwave me - you can Purchase the TECSUN PL-365 from Aliecpress for less than $65.
Shortwave Me - CountyComm does NOT manufacture the GP-5 SSB . it is made by TECSUN and is similar to its PL-360 shortwave radio, it lacks SSB however. Interestingly, TECSUN America does NOT sell the PL-365 SSB (GP-5 SSB) on its website. you can buy the TECSUN PL-365 SSB from Tecsun Australia however. and from Multiple China retailer on Aliexpress.
Nice review !! Looks better than GR model. Can you do some SW tuning and post ?
Sincronous Tuning is one thing........Single Side Band is Another !!! This Radio has Both Features but one feature does one thing and the other does something different
Great presentation well done most informative as I owe a GP-5 / SSB
Benny Benitez just ordered one, how are you liking it?
The GP-5 is a TecSun PL-365 branded for CountryCom
*Countycomm
Very nice
Thx for the review and opinion. It was interesting to watch especially because I've got the same model and I am also totally satisfied with its sound and quality.
I take my TECSUN PL-365 (same as the GP-5/SSB) to Cuba regularly. I can hear my ham buddies on SSB from Toronto Canada when I'm sitting on the beach. The Cuban border guards are not giving you a hard time, because it is a receiver only. I would recommend to get a CELL SAFE DX4 water resistant hard case for this radio to protect it from rain and sand. The case is made for phones and GPS receivers, but your radio fits in it perfectly.
Thanks for the tip!
@@ShortwaveMe what happened to your videos? We missed them.
Ah, so it's the latest Gen 3 model that has the red and green face buttons. Very nice, I just bought one from County Comm
Correct! Love this radio!
The only thing I wish manufacturers would include with radios like these is the aviation am vhf band.
Agreed. That would be wonderful!
Blitz K - the ICOM R-30 Wideband Communications Receiver can do LW, SW, HF, MW, FM radio, all the VHF and UHF and SHF frequencies. it even has Built in GPS and Bluetooth audio.
We don't get much long wave activity in the U.S., but I wish County Comm would consider a version with long wave as an option like Tecsun radios; with 1 kHz tuning on long wave. Those models don't require 9 kHz tuning to enable long wave; a very minor thing; but why not enable it if it doesn't hurt?
I haven't tried this radio yet, but it would a good idea if it used an optical rotary encoder, since the "knob" gets a lot of use. Perhaps it was only bad luck, but I had trouble with rotary encoders on newer radios.
Nice review on a really nice radio. Look forward to seeing more videos from you.
Thank you! My life has been pretty busy. I plan on adding others soon!
is nice to see it turns off and on faster than my PL-360 --- takes amost 45 seconds holding the off button before it shuts down...
