I totally get why they picked Blaze. his deep voice is great emotionally accurate to the songs he sings and it has a good tone to it. Listen to x factor and virtual xi and the cover of doctor doctor they did. he's great sounding to me and the instrumentals are super!! The real problem is that he couldn't sing Bruce's songs which is why people hate that era. He can't get into the songs and he looks stiff and moves odd because he's literally straining his voice the whole time. Who's to blame? Iron maiden themselves. There is a number of things that could have been done to make the live experience much better. They had him singing songs like number of the beast and clairvoyant and they refused his request to tune down. If they wanted to stay in standard tuning so bad they should have atleast pick different songs like Paul dianno era stuff. Like wrathchild and killers and shit like that. Not saying it would have sounded perfect but way better than having him strain on Bruce's stuff.

This is how true pain feels. It is just heartbreaking to see Maiden turn into laughing stock! It is not just he can't sing, he moves like an ape. I met the guy and he was quite nice but the live performance was dreadful.
