I can't remember how it was when I recorded the video, but for how it sounds I am guessing the pad was on and the boost off. But all settings work really, they deliver different sounds though (more overdriven when not using the input pad).

You can deactivate the stereo output on the rev2 settings, effectively making it to work as mono, and just use one of the outputs (L or R).

A pickup truck for $100? That is quite a bargain! 😂 About cello pickups -in my experience most pickups sound quite crappy, I unfortunately wouldn't expect enough sound quality for $100, I'd rather stick to the mic. But of course YMMV!

Long time ago so I don't really remember, but probably just the left side's delay. I don't have any favourite presets, as I use mood for improvisation and I change its settings often.

Only a delay pedal with a very long delay time (around 10 seconds if I remember correctly).

@@PabloOrtegaMusic I am wondering how you got the 10 second delay to work and I haven't seen in the manual or any videos how it's done. I know it is by using the tap tempo input, but I can't find any more information regarding how it works. I do alot of long delay work using my Moog and Guitars into my DD-7 by the A-input and B-output (obviously mono) and just maxing the time knob. Is it as simple as hooking an expression pedal into the tap/exp input and maxing the pedal? Also does it work in both digital and analog or just the digital setting? Thanks in advance if you have time to respond.

@@tweeked267 the best way to achieve this kind of long delay looping is just as you described, using the dd7 on the long delay setting and plugin the B output in mono. That should give you a bit longer than 6 second delay which is also nice. The dd8 can do 10 second by using a tap tempo and output b. This method is more fiddly than just using the dd7 though.

i got similar problems with other pedals, its about the cables. ( i think u need to use balanced ones)

@@purefyabeats3474 its very likely not the jacks. Its either the power source, or power noise leak from another connected unit.

I didn't, the noise was always there and this is the reason I eventually got rid of the pedal. I tried everything, but the noise is just inherent to the pedal, partly caused by the extreme compression that is always active.

BUT, I will add, running the pedal alone helps, and using an isolated power supply is also important.

@@happytosh2965 It is a guitar pedal, so it is not really designed to be used with balanced cables. The power source is indeed very important and you are right, if used with other pedals the noise can get worse, as the compression will rise up the noise floor of all the pedals placed before it.

Honestly I made the video too long ago, so I don't really know anymore. Right now I use it just like you do, buffer off, pad on. With an analog synth I think it is possible to deactivate the pad as well, only in that case the synth will overdrive the input much more and the sound will be more saturated, which is also nice, so I guess it is a matter of taste.

No conozco ningún pedal que intente imitar casset, vhs y vinilo per se. Quizá te interese el Chase Bliss Warped Vinyl o el Cooper FX Generation Loss. El Mooer Lofi Machine es un pedal de reducción del sample rate, otro efecto completamente distinto.
