The titmice around here go nuts for meal worms, which I toss out on occasion. I use suet for the coldest days & black sunflower seeds throughout the winter & spring.

Great information video! I used to buy your seed alot before covid, and just looked now and saw prices of seeds have sky rocketed up. Sadly i have to go cheap seed till they come back down. Used to buy 20 pound seed backs for 50 bucks, now 5 pounds is 22 :(
A 50$ bag would be a bag of seed with no shells, which is actually equivalent to a 40lb bag WITH shells. Plus you’re not paying for fillers that the birds don’t eat. Typically the cheap bag is 70% inedible and 15% she’ll leaving only 15% of the bag edible food. You would need to buy six 20 pound bags to equal the same amount of edible food in a 20lb bag of shelled food making the long term expense actually quite a bit more for the cheap bag. You spend more at the till for the no-mess bag but spend far less in the long term with a benefit of more desirable birds, less waste on the ground, and a lower overall harm to the environment. Unfortunately with inflation, a complicated supply chain, and various world events, seed price will not drop - even the “cheap” bags will eventually rise. We stay as competitive as possible while still being able to run our business.
