ANTIQUE HOME DECOR HAUL | Spring Inspired | Tauna Megan
With an abundance of secondhand goods out there in the world, I try to lower my impact on the environment by buying secondhand, which is why I made a goal this year to only buy secondhand, antique or thrifted decor items. Perfect reason or excuse? All I know is I always find the best items when I'm not really even looking for them specifically. That being said I try to go as often as possible so that I have more opportunities to find great things! Renovating our 1900's cottage has always given me a ton of inspiration for what I want our home design to be. Trying to stay true to the home era and also the location in which our home is at has also played a big part. Now that we are 8 months into our renovation, the time has finally arrived to start shopping for all the pretty things!

When I heard the name "Walmart" I just stopped the video right there. What an incredibly horrible shopping experience there. Sorry.
This was good no talking

Love your frames and prints! Ive never used frames before that didnt have a back to it. What did you use to put the print on and where do you get the clips? TIA
Love this thank you for the idea I always wondered where you can print art.
You have the exact same design style as I have. I’m glad I found your channel. I’m doing a whole house remodel. I painted entire house in White Dove. Kitchen cabinets in Simple White (uppers). Clary Sage (island and hood). Now time to pick a palette and start decorating. I’ll be watching you for inspiration.
Did you thrift these frames? I am very surprised! Maybe you found them at antique or a vintage shop? Right? Anyways thanks I enjoyed how you explained everything.
All frames were thrifted but from various places! OfferUp, Facebook marketplace, and one was found at goodwill ( I never have much luck there ) hope this DIY gave you some inspiration 😄
It looks nice but didn’t see much of it after you were done
Xo McKenna is beautiful
Great video Tauna with nice finds. Your Heutschenreuther candlestick is actually porcelain…I have a huge set of these dishes that are antique and many of them are quite pricey. I also have the same marble mortar that you bought, but I have the matching pestle. I purchased it about 20 yrs ago so it is vintage, but not antique. How lovely that you will have a blank canvas in your new home which you can spend many yrs collecting and decorating. A good person to follow who has a superb decorating sense is Elizabeth on Elizabeth’s Old Maple Home. Also Danielle on Home Made Vintage. I also have thrifting videos on my channel and just an FYI … some feedback I received from older viewers is to please make the font with the prices larger so it is easier for them to read. Good luck with your channel, looking forward to more videos. I have subscribed! 💝
The wooden “masher” is used in a funnel shaped sieve. You roll it around the sieve and push the cooked item inside through it. Imagine cooking tomatoes and pushing them through the sieve to make tomato juice. The pulp inside the sieve gets discarded.
Oh I’m so glad someone knew the purpose of that item, I was so curious! While I won’t ever use it as intended, it was one of my favorite finds 😁

Thanks for filming and posting this! I wasn't able to make it there and its so good to hear the sound of that big radial engine. How long did she fly?
u Are NOT tehona meagan who do u think u are!!!!!
Congratulations on your home purchase. If you did not pay for a house inspection before closing, I recommend you get one now so you can know where the hidden problems are -- every older house has some problems. I recommend you open all the walls and ceilings so you or your house inspector can look for rot, mildew, insect infestations and structural problems. You will want to correct such issues right away. Opening walls and ceilings also makes it easier for your home inspector to see if you need to update plumbing, electric wiring and HVAC to modern standards and discover any hidden safety issues caused by untrained handymen sometime during the house's history. Your house may need a new set of smoke alarms all linked together. An undiscovered plumbing issue could result in a major leak that causes a ceiling to fall and ruins a hardwood floor. An electrical short from an over-loaded old circuit could cause a lot of expensive fire and smoke damage. Do correct any foundation and roofing issues right away before spending money on optional renovations and cosmetic upgrades because problems with roofs and foundations can impact the structural integrity of the building and ultimately its resale value. Replacing old windows with energy efficient ones will save you lots of money over the years on heating and cooling the house and will improve the house's resale value. Ditto for adding insulation in exterior walls and the attic. If you have shingles on the roof, eventually replacing them with longer lasting metal roof panels can save money over time and may lower your insurance cost. A shingle roof is good for 10 to 20 years if it does not get hail damaged first. A high-quality metal roof properly installed can last a lifetime. Beware of doing too much to the kitchen and bathrooms to make them more stylish because these are very, very expensive areas to renovate. Paint is cheap, but custom granite countertops, Jacuzzi tubs, travertine tiles and Viking ranges are very expensive. Style trends in kitchens and bathrooms come into and go out of fashion quickly -- if you must renovate these two areas because of genuine issues with functionality, do stick with the classic plain choices so any renovations will not quickly look out of date. Stick with standard cabinets, standard porcelain fixtures, standard white subway tiles and standard appliances to keep costs lower. Beware of expensive, stylish upgrades. If you spend a fortune on stylish kitchen and bathroom upgrades, when you later try to sell your home, you may discover that homebuyers may not like your taste-specific and expensive style choices and will not be willing to pay more for your house. Buyers may see the added expense of removing a style they do not like. Do build an emergency fund for unexpected repairs. With old houses, remember that every time you open a wall or ceiling that has not been recently opened, with the intention of doing what you expect will be a small amount of work, you risk discovering an expensive hidden problem that needs repair. So, open the walls and ceilings soon to inspect for hidden problems and fix those problems before spending money on stylish improvements to the home's interior appearance. Best wishes on your new-to-you home.
Looking forward to seeing your new home come to life! So much potential there!
I couldn’t agree more!
That vase is perfect for the table & mirror, too!
I couldn’t agree more! 😁
Just love your gallery wall and the pictures that you chose. What kind of printer do you have to print out the digital prints? Thanks for how well you explained each step. So glad that we found you.
I actually had my digital prints printed from Walmart! You can see how I did that starting at the 3:36 minute mark on my video, I hope this helps 🥰

Wow just found your channel! This is super helpful & great job!
I'm new too & glad I found your channel as well. Really appreciate the tutorial on getting the pics made from home. I've actually never done that before, but then again, I've never ordered prints like that before either. U made it look so easy! Love, love your frames! I never find/thrift a great frame. I have the worst luck w those. lol Anyway, love your gallery wall & the prints u chose. It looks fantastic!
Thank you so much for being here! Like I mentioned to someone else in the comments, I did find a few frames on apps like OfferUp and Facebook marketplace. I understand how hit or miss it can be finding vintage style frames but sometimes you just get lucky, so make sure to keep your eye out! ☺️ happy holidays to you and I hope to hear from you again in 2023 when I get back to filming! Stay safe 🎄
@@TaunaMegan Thank you so much! I hope you're enjoying the holiday season. And yes, finding something u like a lot & want/need 2nd hand is always a challenge. I personally think it depends on which way the wind's blowing that day & the "thrift gods"! lol 😉 Besides, it wouldn't be any fun if u found everything u wanted every time
Gorgeous! Thank you.
I sm from India🇮🇳 love it👍💫
Outstanding tutorial!
Thank you for the kind words! ☺️ happy holidays! 💕
Thanks for all the tips. I noticed on one of the pictures you placed it on a sticky poster board looking surface. Can u tell me what that is please.
Hello, thanks for stopping by! 🥰The board is a adhesive foam board, it is perfect for digital prints because it gives them a sturdy surface to stick onto. I found mine at hobby lobby for very inexpensive and they come in a few sizes. You most likely will need to cut depending on your frame size. There is a link in my description box and the links are not affiliated just a quick way for you to find the items easy. 😊
Love the color of the frames. Looks expensive
I love this video, thanks for the motivation to organize my closet! ❤️

So glad you liked the video! Make sure to check out local websites like Facebook marketplace and OfferUp, that is where I found a few of mine. Happy hunting! ☺️
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the kind words 😊
Hi just found your channel ☺️ I absolutely love how you explained everything. I am an artist and I'm a very visual person. I like to take my time checking what layout I like the most or what frame to choose for what painting. I love that doing a gallery wall doesn't have to be perfect..you can just make it your own. I'm actually working on gallery wall on a teal blue wall in my living room. Love all the frames btw 😍
I am so happy to hear that you enjoyed the video and you found some useful tips! Best of luck on your gallery wall, I bet it will be absolutely beautiful 🥰
