      It never hurts to be prepared. It’ll also benefit him as he advances. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with having enough tools to cover every possible scenario.

    Your special tool is part of a Jack system system for GMUS you would stick it on the end of a longer Pole to lower your tires down from on beneath the truck and the truck and then also attach to your Jack to ratchet it up-and-down

    I am no mechanic. Just a young dad doing light work around the house and cars and I bought my first Icon set from harbor freight metric and SAE pretty excited about my purchase for $19 bucks. Will keep collecting to build up 👍

    *Whats that magnetic drain plug tool called?*

      @fjcarmo0369 2 роки тому

      You can buy one on Amazon if you just type in magnetic drain plug remover tool (sold by dptool store on amazon). I bought mine off Amazon. Amazon also a similar thing for spark plugs. Just type in flexible magnetic spark plug tool (Steelman 08310R).

    Learn as a starter tech in the field and as you work up to master …. If it’s broke or as you said messed up so you used your 18 then lost it …. If it’s not right …. Fix it so it is …. Don’t send send it out if it’s not right and if you can’t make it right don’t work on it … that motto will save you more money then you know …. If the customer doesn’t want it that way … then send them down the road or to the next guy … you might not realize it but your working on your reputation…. And a good reputation might not mean much now to you but down the road it pays dividends … oh and that one tool is for dropping the spare tire on Chevy

      You're talking to a wall bud I hate to say it but these days nobody takes any pride in the quality of their work anymore and don't give a damn that someone's life and safety of them and their family is in their hands

      @@childofodin1069 We're now in a society of mediocrity and subpar performance, every industry from fast food to engineering it can be seen daily. Not only will these young guys send out a vehicle with 6 bolts left over but they won't even take a bolt out without a power tool now.. they're using battery impacts on bolts and nuts directly attached to engines and transmissions.. that are aluminum.. I've seen dozens of intakes and heads get destroyed.. spark plugs, wheel studs.. you name it. I was sometimes cocky at that age but people today are flat out arrogant..

    “That tool” I have the same thing but GM. It’s a lug nut ratchet/breaker bar. Common back in the day. You’d have a special stamped steel socket that went with your vehicle.

      Its ratchet for removing the spare tire and operating the jack, the "Sockets" are bars that you connect like extensions ... Basically throw it in the trash because nobody will need that
