Hi there Zant, great job so far! Melanie of A Hoarders Heart would recommend a No Spend Challenge. She is a very keen crafter too, and always wanted to make beautiful things out of stuff to keep it out of landfill. But had so much stuff she realised she didn't need to keep. Jami and Zeb, of Jami Ray Vintage have Waste not Wednesday videos, where they bit by bit use up their stored stash of things across various categories of stuff. I may well be wrong, but having so much fabric with labels still on seems to show you're bringing in more than you're using up.

Hi Zant, Cas from Clutterbug would say organising is the step you do after the declutter step. She has a quiz that helps you determine what your organising style is. No point organising stuff you're not keeping. But the traditional organising styles dont work for everyone. You determine how you organise by 1) do you like to see your stuff or hide it, and 2) do you have big categories or sort by micro categories. I like to see my stuff (mostly) and sort in big categories, but if I cant see it, I forget I have it, so clear shallow bins with no lids but clear labels for big categories would work for me. So I have my florals in large vacuum seal type bags(but not vacuumed), based on foliage/ warm/ cool colour flowers/ Christmas, hung off ikea extendable towel rails, to keep dust off, stop them getting squashed, but I can see thru each side of the bag when I want something and so easy to put away extra after, not on the floor or surfaces.

Hi Zant, Dana K White has some videos on the advantages of just donating, rather than complicating the process of stuff leaving your house eg Etsy shop kits you said you might do. If it's for Etsy, it's still not out of your house, you'll just be stuff shifting. Save the kit idea, for when you have a much more manageable level of inventory. Or make the kits, say for Christmas crafts for oldies at nursing homes, and donate them to their occupational therapists. Or for end of school crafts for primary aged kids. Her premise is that once you decide it needs to leave, it leaves.

Good Luck! I was like you, collecting everything in sight. I have to say that Dana K. White's 'No Mess Method' of decluttering has really helped me over the last couple of years.

Amazing progress!! I keep all my seasonal items together including fabric. I've started doing this also with specifically themed supplies such as cats, dogs, Paris, Asian, children, wedding, birthday, etc. My fabric I've stored mostly by type (cotton, upholstery, satin/tulle, quilt pieces) and then within each type sorted by color. I watched some videos on how to fold fabric on boards and then cut up a bunch of food boxes and used those to wrap my fabric on and now it's so much easier to store them and see what I have. Thank you so much for sharing your progress. It's very motivating!! 💕

Rather than getting bigger tables, might it be beneficial to get some of those plastic drawer units from Walmart? Maybe some small ones on top and bigger ones underneath the table? Then your items you use all the time would be close but better organized and still within reach.

Wow you've made some huge progress. I see a clear table space. Going through the bins for me is the hardest. After the unwanted items are set aside, I then fit the left over in a plastic bin 9 by 11. Then if it don't fit I go through it again. I usually donate to the local schools after school program, children library or send out in happy mail. It's so sad for me to realize I can't keep everything. I have a few good days to craft. I'm glad you're making space to enjoy your supply. Keep us updated.Have a blessed day.

I can sympathize with you as far as clutter goes. My basement it a mess. I walk down there to organize and run right back up. I’m in need of an organizer definitely. Many Blessings to You!

I am so glad you shared this. As well as this collab. My room is smaller than yours, but my space looks just like yours. I couldn't even get into my room. I am not moving fast, but have made progress. I can get into my craft room and my work table is clear. I quit crafting because I was to overwhelmed. I so feel you and know you can do it!! Just go slow and follow Dana's process, it works and I know we will get there in time.

Don’t worry about the negative comments. It’s a lot of fun to reorganize you space a redefine how you use it! Looking forward to see how you reimagine your space.

I don’t know that calling a spade a spade is a negative thing. Looks like a hoard to me.

People who can't help saying judgmental things were bullied into believing that's the only way to get things done. I feel sorry for them. Creative people have so many ideas and uses for things that it can be challenging to keep on top of them, I thing us creatives totally understand It's great you are getting into Dana K White's system because it really does work and even better it works at your own pace. There is no RUSH unless you want it done sooner and have the time to make that happen. I think your space right now shows how creative you are and how much you can see the opportunities in all of the things you have collected. How you took care of those mailing items was a great way to demonstrate Dana's container concept. You have a space now to hold the ones you can and you are recycling the rest. As you use items you can replace them IF they fit into that space you have made. LOVE how you did that ❣ Anne🦘au

How I hate that "H" word. Creative people see possibilities in everything. That's why we have so much stuff. At 76 years old, I think the question to ask myself is "Will I ever get around to making this, or do I have other projects that I would rather spend my time and energy on". It is looking great. Keep putting up videos of your progress. Part of our hobbies are cleaning and reorganizing!!! 😅 I can spend hrs folding fabric and have so much fun. Can't wait to see it all done!
