can have so much money at your disposal and still make such garbage its unbelievable to me when i first heard of this without knowing of the design my first thought was if there's not gasoline floating on the surface they're probably fine if there is probably just stranded on the bottom in the pressure chamber how wrong i was on all assumptions because i assumed they made it like a deep exploration vessel spent most of my life hoping to get funding for what could be the coolest submersible just to watch my dreams wither and this a deathtrap of a design makes if far enough to have a body count smh

Let's pretend there even is a possibility of a mystery, what would these rich people know? Ffs rich people don't even have a reasonable grasp on life, they're going to solve a tragedy like this? Leave it to the rich to turn a grave site into some manner of personal enjoyment for themselves. Swine

I have a feeling it isn't. I think it would have been officially dismissed by now. Notice that the submersible community have been real quiet over it. They know, they knew it had imploded days before it was found. The transcript I think was part of how they knew.

In theory their sub worked but only for one dive safely. With all the engineers they had they did not take into account the matrix of carbon fiber microscopically cracks with every dive they took after it got weaker and weaker. Until finally. Poof. Why didn’t they use metal like other subs? Cost? RIP

We already know what the U.S. Navy discovered around the time of the incident. They had sonar & sound readings of an implosion @ the time, depth & general location of the Ocean Gate sub Titan. The real tragedy of this is the people he deceived into thinking its safe. So they would give him money & sign their lives over. If he was the only one in that sub when it imploded, i would have more respect for him. People would say " at least he went out doing what he loved". He would of still been called a dummy, irresponsible etc but people wouldnt hate him & call him a scammer.

Trieste was designed by Swiss engineer Auguste Piccard and built by Italian Acciaierie Terni. It was BOUGHT by United States Navy. Notice the distinctive lack of involvement in designing or building. You Americans really tend to gobble up the credits. Even its name the "TRIESTE" - you know just a major city in Italy - should hint at that. But no - it's a US Navyyy vessel built by some imagined company.
