Sending a pillow is a thoughtful show of support. My blog, Create To Donate (createtodonate.org) also has some posts about chemo care package items that may be something you could send even if it is simply to help with the impact of the cancer.

Sadly my friend died Sept. 23. No treatments worked for her. Cancer is terrible.

@@janomalley I am so so sorry for your loss. There is a reason why we turn to expletives when talking about cancer even if that isn't our normal form of communication. May you find some peace and joy in your memories of her as you work through the grief.

I imagine you worked out whatever was best for you but wanted to chime in nonetheless. With this pattern, I just use a straight stitch for the topstitch since there is enough give in the hat because of the shape. It also adds a nice, finished look. Hi, you can adjust the speed in setting on UA-cam. There is a little icon at the top of the youtube video. I use this all the time. 😀

I started with using just one piece as well way back when... So sorry for the delay. I typically use 3/4" tape but if you have 1" tape in your stash that is fine too.

So sorry for the delay in my response. It isn't the typically "turning inside out" since you're sewing the inside slit first. Then, you turn everything right sides out using the sewn edges as your guide. Thanks for commenting.
