. Xie Lian is a Prince born in a kingdom named Xianle, His parents are the rulers of the kingdom. Because of how talented he was and such, he ascended into heaven as a God at 17. His parents were aware and were proud. Xie Lian wanted to use his powers as a God for good and save everyone, and make sure not a single one dies. One day, in a parade held in his kingdom, where he was in the costume of the honoured lord of the lords, His Majesty JunWu, he had caught a kid who fell off a tall cliff while trying to watch the parade. When Xie Lian was a God in heaven, mortals on earth worshipped him, with statues and temples built for him, People believed in luck and Xie Lian had alot of it, which they believed would bring great fortune to anyone who worshipped him, which did happen. The kid he had caught that day, named Hong Hong-er, Was later praying on his knees at a Xie Lian statue, crying that he doesn't have a reason to live anymore, saying that everyone bullied him for his horrifying face, and that he has no person to care for him. Despite the fact that one of heaven's strictest rule being the gods to not communicate with mortals no matter what, Xie Lian answered his prayers by stating something along the lines of "if you have no reason to live for, live for me." He wasn't sure if the kid would take that advice, it sounded stupid, but that's all he could come up with so that he doesn't feel guilty when or if the child does commit. Xie Lian helped some people, randomly, as a god, one time he had noticed a drought in a village named Yong-An, and proceeded to push water from another Village to that village, which obviously doesn't go smoothly or end smoothly, breaking out in a war. Xie Lian decided to go down to the village see the situation, breaking another important strict rule. When he had reached down to Xianle, he realised that there was a spread of a plague disease in Xianle, and they were in the middle of a big war. The name of the disease was 'Human face disease' It wasn't a deadly disease, but everyone had small faces on their faces. Burning it or cutting it off didn't work. It looked terrifying. Xie Lian felt he had too much on his plate already, when a ghost known as 'White-No face' started to taunt him, telling him everything happening is his fault. Meanwhile when all this was happening, Hong Hong-er had dedicated his life to Xie Lian. He became a soldier at about 15-16 years old and fought in war in Xianle's side. Soon things were starting to look bad for xie Lian, almost all the heavenly officials don't trust him anymore and mortals don't know whether to trust him or not with this war going on. Hong Hong-er doesn't like seeing Xie Lian suffer this bad, since he was once his savior. As a 17 year old kid, Hong Hong-er disguises himself to stand beside Xie Lian in war. He got down on one knee and swore that his life belonged to Xie lian. He wore a mask to hide his face since he was always insecure of his 'hideous' face. Xie Lian had no idea who he was and didn't even know his name so he called him 'Wu Ming' (meaning - No name) and let him stay by his side, Wu ming was the least of his concerns with everything going on. Xie Lian hoped things would get better, but that was useless because things just kept getting worse and worse. People were dying because of the war and the disease was spreading like crazy. And The No-white face guy was driving him insane, taunting him that he was the cause of everything. Basically, Xie Lian went slightly insane. By now, Xie Lian only had a single believer and follower for him. Wu Ming. Once Xie Lian and Wu Ming went on this mission thing inside a cave, but to make sure Wu Ming doesn't get lost, he tied a piece of his hair on Wu Ming's ring finger, which is supposed to somehow magically show him where Wu Ming will be in the cave. Some stuff happens in the cave but they make it out of there alive. Eventually, Wu Ming dies in the war. However, if someone dies with extreme resentment, their soul remains on earth to fulfill their wish before death. So Wu Ming's soul gets to be on earth to fulfill his wish of helping his savior have a peaceful life. He comes back as a ball of blue fire floating around, although he was captured by a lantern seller and caged up for a short while before Xie Lian somehow came across it, scolded the seller for selling resentful souls to people and freed them all without knowing Wu Ming was even there, inspiring him and saving him once again. Thankful, he follows him around as the ball of fire, and Xie Lian let him. Later in Xianle, White-No face had brought together the entire Kingdom of about 500 people, telling them he knows the cure to the disease. They have no way but to believe him, so they hear him out. White-No face says that the only way to cure the disease is to kill someone. But obviously, they can't just go around killing each other. So, White-No face came up with the solution and shared that since Xie Lian, their prince and God was immortal, they could all stab him once and get cured, he wouldn't die either way, and he is their prince so he should sacrifice himself. Xie Lian was tricked into this. He didn't know what was going on when White-No face had stabbed him, pinning him onto the surface with the sword. Slowly, one by one the villagers had stabbed him. Xie Lian couldn't scream even if he wanted to, his throat has already been pierced through. Eventually, everyone finished stabbing him and surprisingly, it worked. They were all cured. They were extremely happy despite the bloody mush of a body in front of them. Wu Ming's soul was still floating there, after witnessing all of this, he couldn't do it anymore and burst (sacrificed) himself into a big flame and killed every villager that had stabbed him. White-No face was no where to be found after this though. After bursting into flames, he had gotten his old form of Wu Ming once again. __ Xie Lian eventually got himself fixed up, immortals heal pretty quickly. Xie Lian couldn't take any of this anymore, he was too traumatized and couldn't even end himself. Things would've been easier if he wasn't immortal, he could die. He has an idea. He still had the sword White-No face used to stab him first. He took the sword and trapped every evil spirit on the mortal world into it. Which made the sword the most powerful sword to exist. He wanted to end it all. He wanted to stab himself. But first he wanted to thank Wu Ming for believing in him when no one else did. And so he went to do so. Wu ming had guessed his plan, he apologized and quickly grabbed the sword from him, stabbing himself and perishing from the mortal world. This hurt xie lian more then anything. He blamed himself for thinking of this plan in the first place. Feeling lost, Xie Lian wandered around the mortal world. He felt evil by now, he wants to end the world. He realised how cruel the world could be to the person trying to save them. He wants to end the world with him. He planned how he would end the world. A day before, it was raining. Since xie Lian couldn't find a shelter, he decided to lay down in the ground while it rained and stare at the sky. Suddenly, a cart runs him over. He curses at himself that he should've ended the world earlier, when the person riding the cart absolutely panics and scolds him for laying there and that he could catch a fever. He gave him a hat made of straws (The stuff cows eat). This made xie Lian have a new perspective of the world, that the world still had good people, which convinces himself to not end the world for good.

Shen Jiu reached into his pockets and brought out a small, slightly hardened yet edible bun. "Xiao Jiu, there's no need, Qi Ge is not hungry. You should feed A-Yuan." In the dark, sluggish streets, were three malnourished kids. Around the age of 15, 11 and 9. The youngest, Shen Yuan was sound asleep on Shen Jiu's lap. Shen Jiu had been bickering with the oldest one, Yue Qi about his habit of giving away his food to other poor kids despite not having much to eat himself. "A-Yuan has already eaten, you haven't yet." Xiao Jiu sounded upset, not wanting to upset him further, Yue Qi took the bun and split it into two unequal halves, taking the smaller one for himself and giving the bigger half to his Xiao Jiu. Shen Jiu took the half without complaining, knowing his Qi Ge well enough already. They had been living on the streets with almost nothing to survive with for years after Shen Jiu's parents had sold both him and Shen Yuan into slavery for money. He had found Yue Qi, another yet older slave there, the only person whom had cared for him and his little brother, A-Yuan. Yue Qi would be described by Shen Jiu as someone that's kind and generous to everyone, naive too. If Shen Jiu could describe him in a single word, it would be 'dumb'. Shen Jiu sees no use in being generous and selfless to those kids who would never give anything in return even if they could. Shen Jiu was selfish, but he considers it necessary to be selfish to survive out in the streets.
