To comment below "Can't get handle to release"..Figured it out. CAUTION! When you reinstall the handle, be careful you do NOT accidentally flip "down" the black lever the lock arm sits over. The horizontal lever should be in the most "up" position. After staring at the old one long enough - the lightbulb went on. Not obvious but, that simple think kept the new latch from working. Don't know how to post two pictures Correct and Incorrect setup. Send comment and I'll email.

I just replaced this mechanism, 2nd one in 16 years BUT, I can't get the handle to release the pull rods that go to the side of the tailgate. Ideas?
