Переглядів 9002 роки тому
Much has changed since the nft now founding team last held a fireside chat back in December 2021 on the state of NFTs. Eight months into 2022, we’ve seen seismic changes in the NFT ecosystem as initial growth, promise, and schisms in the space contend with the reality of the bear market. However, despite this new reality, there’s plenty to be hopeful about. The founders review some of their fav...
Should AI Scare Artists?
Переглядів 1,4 тис.2 роки тому
Claire Silver is a crypto artist who gives expression to her creative vision using the power of AI. Instead of creating new art by hand, Silver’s crypto art is the output of generative adversarial networks (GANs), which explore themes of “vulnerability, trauma, disability, social hierarchy, innocence, and divinity”. In doing so, her work questions “the role they will play in our transhumanist f...

Well, to begin with, that is not art, just as drawing, painting, music, dancing, etc. is not art. They are means of artistic expression, art is a superior aspect of culture and its particular, not general.

How many clicks did you have to make to put your avatar in the video? 5 or 6? exactly, none, compared to what you would have had to learn to animate it yourself. This is the generation of lazy and useless people who can't learn to draw for 10 years to get it right.

wait until every hardware device (iphones, tvs, game consoles, cars, etc.) are all built with NFT features... so every digital media content can't be played anymore without NFT access...that's when the value of NFTs will skyrocket overnight. Watch...tick tock...

So if you use an email address to create your profile you are given a delegate wallet address which is unchangeable once you start your artist profile, then upon trying to upload, at the very end when it requires you to connect wallet to complete the upload, since the addresses do not match, it gives you an error despite your metamask being connected. there is no way to cancel your profile to begin again /recreate using your wallet address. Non-starter as an artist and a wast of my time. Great idea if it would have worked...

You can import your delegate address to your MetaMask. That’s what I had to do

Every thing she says about women being "kept out of the legacy market" can be said about Hollywood gatekeepers. Why should millionaire celebs channel liquidity out of normies that haven't grown up in the industry? Me thinks she and Nicole Kidman have enough cash. Let people that haven't been on 100+ private fights have their time to shine. This interview seems like she wants to centralize the WEB 3 community around herself, her pals and her chosen allies. Moreover, I'm guessing the whales in this space didn't need, seek or ask for special dispensation in generating their wealth. They had talent, or foresight which led them to the front of the line. Assuming they arent scammers, they (irrespective if the sit or stand to pee) took a risk and received a reward. I'm all for inclusivity, but throwing out usless data points about men. v women in the space is inane. This space is a decade old, at most. In the last decade women have been disproportionately outnumbering men in grad school programs...especially law and medicine. Please dont tell me that, somehow, there are artificial barriers preventing women from being computer nerds. I'm not buying it.

It resonated with me so much when they spoke about not leading with jargon when it comes to creating understandable marketing messages for large scale adoption. But I guess it's part of novelty and early adoption that when the car is recently invented we call it an "auto-mobile", when Hip-Hop is new we name a song "It's the Hip-Hop!" and so on... .

Does one not also consume visual art in the same way… it’s only there when you look at it just like it’s only there when you listen to it. I don’t see the difference in ephemerality between visual art and music. How ephemeral is James Brown… say his name to most people and they will know. I don’t know if the same ease in recall would exist with Van Gogh, for example. People may know the name but will they visualize the work in the same way that they may sonically and visually recall the ubiquitous JB scream and sudden splits that they may be compelled to emulate? All of the possibilities are possible, in my humble opinion. Great talk, I really enjoyed this interview. I do really appreciate the reframing of the tech. People do get bewildered as soon as you say NFT or a smirk arises and the express their opinions about why it’s stupid without actually knowing why. The simplicity of saying, you get to own a piece of this music without saying NFT… is a game changer in terms of getting people on board.

Who said effort equals art. I’ve never seen that, quite the opposite. I seen people draw lines on a canvas, and because they’re well known, they sell it for millions. Fucking lines on a peice of paper for millions. Because it’s “symbolic or some shit. Art doesn’t take effort. The only effort you put into it is the fake “hippie” personality you put on to make you seem “woke”
