Found an old 1800's Whiskey Barn while riding around.

The William Barker Whiskey Bonding Barn is a historic site near Molena, Georgia. I was riding around rural Georgia on my Kawasaki Z125 and found an old Whiskey Bonding Barn. Looks like somebody has made it into a Wedding venue so I didn't explore it. I like true Abandoned stuff. Still a pretty good find by Yesterday's Garage. This is a short video but still a pretty good historical find. Discov...

This is my opinion on the cancelling of Barber Small Bore. 2024 was the last year of one of the greatest motorcycle events that I know of. Everybody talks about the grass getting torn up. At first I didn't really see it, but after editing my video and watching it, I noticed some areas I didn't see while there. Mr Barber is very picky about his grass. One more reason I regret not going and seeing you guys, but we had a great family vacation that weekend. Seeing this video I think the lower camping may have been what did it in alot of big vehicles on very wet grass. I thought that Power Wheels downhill was a bad idea when I saw it announced. Then I saw the video of it and how it ran out on the concrete pad at a sharp angle and thought thats a really bad idea. I don't know man I'll miss it. Theres gotta be enough rednecks in the south to find a big venue, not as cool of one, but something. My vote would be Texas, that would get it centrally located for most of the participating states. But, I know the southeast is pretty big for car and bike stuff. Thanks for posting this, we have had a busy year. My oldest daughter you met, Ashlyn is having some health problems and my brain has not been on anything fun. Were in the ER yet again right now as I'm watching your video. It's honestly a relief. Take care.

    Love your videos, currently saving up $ to buy a blue Honda CB550 Four (dream bike). Any advice on what to look out for? Also, I am slightly concerned about the brakes and safety of driving an older bike in aggressive traffic. Thank you for your videos!

    • @yesterdaysgarage
      @yesterdaysgarage 3 місяці тому

      The more original the bike is the better. The more it has been modified over the years the more problems you will have. Most of my cars, trucks and motorcycles were built in the 1980's. The brakes are not as good as a new vehicle. Always leave a little more room for stopping and drive more conservative in heavy traffic. The brakes are not bad but not as good as modern vehicles. Remember in the early 1970's the govt mandated a 55 mph speed limit across the USA. These vehicles were designed around that a little more than now when the speed limit is 70 +

    Nice video. Wish more people would just do a riding explore video like this. Up in PA here we have Centralia. They accidentally set the coal on fire underground and the goverment bought everyone out but 3 or 4 people. Bunch of roads with no houses. A temp. fix for your squeaking brake. Rub a pencil on the rotor. The graphite works for awhile. Large kids pencil or carpenters pencil works best.

    • @yesterdaysgarage
      @yesterdaysgarage 3 місяці тому

      I have heard of Centralia, very cool story. Stick around I have a bunch of explore videos coming up. I will have more info about the towns and history also. Might redo this one since it is so close to the house. I fixed my brakes, got a new rotor, caliper, lines, and pads. works great now, and no more squeaking.

    Nice 550! Ive got a 92 750 Nighthawk I'm running around on. Does hiway fine. Here in PA they're adding a couple rondabouts here and there. They're fine if only one lane. In Wisconsin, they love them 2 lanes entering and exiting, and then 1 every 100 yds. 3 or 4 in a row. Hate them! If you don't know where you're going forget it! If traffic is heavy you just sit. We'd plot on Google to avoid them. Couldn't everywhere so some places we never got to. The newer, shopping, motel areas were polluted with them. Just Google maps Oshkosh, WI.

    • @yesterdaysgarage
      @yesterdaysgarage 3 місяці тому

      They are adding a multi lane roundabout a couple of miles from my house. Honestly it will be an improvement over what they have now. They one now is the size of a donut. The problem is nobody around here knows how to use a roundabout. They think its a four way stop. I love the early 90's nighthawks. Awesome looking bike.

    Although a SOHC 750K four is still on my wish list, I have owned 2 Nighthawk 700S. 3 Nighthawk CB650SC, and 4 Nighthawk CB750! If you're not sure or undecided as to what to get... Get a Nighthawk and you'll never regret it even if you switch to something else later! 92-03 Honda Nighthawk CB750 is the best of the bunch when you include cost and parts availability. Couldn't agree more. I live in Vegas and it's wall to wall people here and every light is red so the time. I'm 56 and I've just started riding a couple years ago. I didn't understand why bikes are so quiet these days. When you add ear protection, you can't hear anything. I didn't like Harley's so I guess I have to pay for aftermarket exhaust on top of the cost of the bike. I don't understand why people listen to music when they ride. The engine makes it's own music which a huge part of riding. Stay safe.

    That's why you never see a motorcycle parked outside a therapist's office, riding IS therapy! I've been riding for 40 years, owned too many motorcycles to count over those years. When I have to ride so defensively that I don't enjoy it anymore, that'll be the time to give it up. Hope that doesn't happen for a few more years though. My current bikes are a 2018 Aprilia Dorsoduro 900, and a 2023 Moto Guzzi V7 Special Edition.

      You got a nice collection of bikes. I live in a semi rural area. If I head North I have to ride so defensively I hate it. If I ride south it’s very relaxing and fun. As people keep moving my way it is not as fun some days. But it’s better than a therapist.

    I just started riding myself a few months ago, also late 40s, and for the exact same reasons and results you describe. Anyone thinking about it should just do it. I agonized over it for several years before taking the plunge, and only wished I had done it sooner. Do take some time and sit on many bikes, and not just for a second or two, really feel them under you and all the way around. Try ones you might not even think you would like or want, that's how I found the one that fit me perfectly yet unexpectedly, and couldn't be happier with my choice.

    My old 360 enduro with the sound of the 2 stroke is great. Just out riding dirt roads. Really rural out my way. Watch out for horse crap from all the Amish. I just moved up to a Buell Ulysses. Need to get more of all terrain tires on it. Roads suck here and have to go down dirt roads for work.

      I need a bigger enduro. Was kind of looking at a 1970's Honda XL350. Love being able to go on and off road.

    Great information! Really helped me out. Beginner rider here. This makes cornering so much easier.

      Every now and then I'll do it. Usually after not riding for a while. You will just notice one day you are more comfortable on the bike and more relaxed. That is when you know you are getting better.

    Bought a 75 Honda CB125S which has a tach. With a red line of 9500 I saw 7500 to go 50MPH so yeah it can do 60 at Red Line but with no more revs. I bought it so that I will have a Fun Small motorcycle to ride off into retirement that can be easily moved around when it needs to be pushed. It weighs 213 pounds with a full tank of gasoline.

      These smaller old bikes are a lot of fun. Easy to maneuver and move around.

      It does pretty good considering it is a 125. Most comfortable around 45 mph but it will get to 60.

    If it doesn't make sense it is doing its job. The algorithm is constantly changing. I have noticed though in the last year is they are going around and promoting small creators or videos with low view counts. The thing that keeps videos getting promoted to new viewers is viewer engagement and view time (how much they watch, if they skip ahead & rewatch the video). Best of luck in your endeavors mate.
