My golden child sister trashed my apartment to teach me a lesson after a fight, so I pressed charges, and now she's homeless. And if I ever complained, it was brushed off as sibling rivalry. So I left home as soon as I could, determined to prove I could make it on my own. I thought that being out on my own meant I could leave their twisted idea of family loyalty behind me. But somehow, Dee managed to find a way to keep inserting herself in my life, and not in a good way. Two weeks ago, Dee called me.
It was one of her routine pleas for money, saying she was going through a rough time. She didn't ask how I was doing; she never does. She only calls when she needs something. I'd helped her out before, but this time, I'd had enough. I told her flat out, no, enough.
