So if i just want to create a syphon to syphon debris off the bottom of my completely pool, I can do this right, because ultimately and ideally the hose end still in the pool is "sucking" water, thus directing the hose end to the powdery pollen it will suck it up and out other end into the drain, below pool level...=gravity🎉

This did not work for me. Maybe water is too low? Anyone else?

It didn’t work for me I don’t know if the hose is long or what. When putting in the water is the pushing of the hose is so water is filling? Hold the hose up and cover with palm? We’re gonna try it again. I believe we’re doing something wrong. But ty

Just did this and worked well, after some trial and error. I ended up using a longer filter hose I had that was at least 20’ in length. It worked when I added 2 more weights to it about 7’ apart

This method is good and works much faster than garden hose. Be careful tho IF you have an ICE layer as this layer will move lower in the pool when this rain water that is displacing it is removed. I had wall damage since the ice extended into my skimmer area (had a "gizmo" in there) and the weight of that ice damaged the wall badly in that area .. had to replace the wall (big job). It's better to close off square opening, at least so the ice cannot extend "continuously" into skimmer. Also, I wish there was a way to run water thru a filter and put back into pool under the cover.. so the water level doesn't drop and won't need refilling. I may want to hook that hose to the pool filter intake and pump the now-clean water back into the pool. Anybody do something like that ?

You should use a longer hose to divert water away from the pool so it doesn't erode the dirt around the pool.
