    To collect the rocks, maybe cap off the far end, and add a second position to increase the slope, open the capped end and collect rocks in a wheelbarrow. Nice design!

    Is that engine at idle already or throttled up?

      Hi Igor I hope you and your friends and family are keeping well in these trying (Covid 19) times. I thank you for your comment... the RPM is increased or decreased using the throttle on the engine wich is a 2 stroke engine..

    Just add a sheet metal extension tube so the unsifted materials can be collected.

    Great trommel! Like others, I have looked at dozens of DIY trommel designs and agree that yours is the best.

      Thankyou Gaberiel for that comment. A lot of thought went into its design. Like you I also looked at all the youtube builds, thought about what they had done wrong, and then how i could make a better one. Turned out it worked well first time we tried it.

    I had a sifter built but it doesn't have the right motor so I was wondering what kind of motor you have.

    Awesome build man, ive done alot of tube research on these and this is up there with the best... side note, ive have been on a quest for a source for that scaffold tube and connectors for use in building aquaponics tank stands, where in the world do you find that stuff, nothing even comes up when I do google searches for it, except videos of people using it to build any manner of awesomeness...

    Great vid. I also thought about using a gas motor when I was getting trouble finding a electric motor that I could adjust the speed. But I got lucky and got a treadmill from someone with everything working. Doing my final touches now. Really excited for the final results.

    It looks good and well made. How about slowing that drum down to 30 rpm and teach your lady to tie back her hair around rotating machinery. Basic safety.

      She's dressed up for the video and nowhere near the belt so probably okay. Good general advice though - I've known several women who got a chunk of hair pulled out by machines.

    Please don't move the trommel whilst it is rotating. I thought Nicky's hair was going to get caught and ripped out of her head when I saw this.

    I can use a lawnmower motor to make that or any other small engine for that matter, but I prefer an electric motor, because of the noise, I think the design is great, even if it is expensive, is worth the money, I love it, regards from a fan, you've got my support.

    what is this belt that rotates the drum itself? How is it vcalled? WHere can I buy it? Cannot find belt anywhere. What length it is

    • @garrettmckellar269
      @garrettmckellar269 4 роки тому

      You may have to make a belt. I'm currently making one and in the final stages. Gna use an old treadmill belt. Cutting and joining it for my required length and coating it with a anti-skid spray paint. Hope this helps.
