And YES I could quit. I hate quiting. I'm TIRED of trying to find a coach/instructor who isn't egotistical! He yelled at me the other day for slamming the ball back to my opponent, yet it's apparently ok for him to do it! But call him out on it...and he always argues it or has an excuse!!! Said to me the other day..."it's apparent that you've never done any sports!" I yelled back at him 11yrs of gymnastics & 6yrs bootcamp dude! He didn't like being called "dude" either 😅
Can someone PLEASE tell me what to look for in a great Pickleball coach? Like one that doesn't yell at me for doing what I'm only seeing & learning from watching him, as he is DOING what he is telling me NOT to do?¿? 🤔 I'm not stupid, but this sure makes a person feel it!!! Yet he wouldn't let me video how he is telling what to do & NOT to do!!! Frustrating! Embarrassing yet no one else has the TITS ENOUGH to stand up to him!!!
Typically coaches that have some establishments and accomplishments in the pickleball competitive scene!
Looks so boring without me
I miss you boo thang 🥺
Actually clean hands, looks similar to pros on tour, just obviously not as clean as there’s. haven’t seen that from any amateur before. Keep on grinding I’m sure you’ll get insane
Appreciate that! Agreed, we aren’t as clean as pros 😂 a lot to improve on! We’ll grind our way there!
@@fabianjacobopickleball@fabianjacobopickleball Honestly, out of everyone you play with, only you seem to have a similar form and technique to the pros. Your ability to reset your ready position along with your compact swings/calm body movements in hand battles is very clean and similar to Ben Johns/Jw Johnson, especially the way you track the ball with your paddle (for instance, when your partner is in a hands battle, you are still moving your paddle with the direction of the ball, very similar to ben!) I hope this wasn't rude; your friends are amazing players and would smack 98% of rec players. However, I only recognized the similarity in your form. Great potential and good work.
Love the compliments, no offense was taken! Funny enough I built my game off of Ben Johns (although he is 1000x better than me lol) that’s why I hit a lot of backhand flicks/rolls, 1 handed resets and a slice dink and slice drop! That’s why I also try to reset a lot because the game style I play is getting to the kitchen and winnings from there.
hell yeah, lets get that bread. good stuff Fabian. Thanks for the upload, keep em coming.
Thank you for the support! You know it!
Do you edit your clips between points from your phone or are you editing from your computer?
I use a software through my computer. I use Davinci Resolve. I recommend Davinci or Adobe Premier Rush, they are very user friendly!
hell yea! a new upload. love the smack talk. my guys were paying that net bigly. You going to the APP newport in Oct?
Hey! Yes I will be there! Currently looking for a partner for that tournament! Will you also be there?
Love competitiveness 😅
yo finally! keep the uploads coming. Met you in newport. You going to APP Newport in October?
Will do! I plan on uploading more often! There is an APP in October? I don’t see it on pickleball brackets website.

Time for pro division.

Fantastic play Fabian! 👏
I appreciate the kind words Calvin 💯
Good games. Try to post some more. Its fun to watch.
Thank you for the comment, it’s encourages me to post more! Hard to organize at time but I will push more videos out soon 🫡
Washed up tennis players
Never played tennis before…
I was there
I’m better
Nice recovery. He had you all over the court.
Thanks, I was in survival mode 😂!
As a tennis player, I usually hate on PB, but sir, this is one of the most athletic points I’ve ever seen in PB! Good job!
Thanks!
This is literally just a bigger version of ping pong
I very much agree so. It’s ping pong but the players are essentially on the table!
good job
Sick games - super high level! Next time the people need higher FPS!
That’s some high quality PB!
Great rallies! Great playing! Everyone is really, really good
Thank you! Appreciate the kind words!
@@fabianjacobopickleball thanks for the content bro! This whole time I thought your name was pronounced "Fah-bee-ahn" but listening to the video it's "fey-beeahn"
@@ninoamengual539 ahhh, either way is fine, some of my friends even call me Fabi (Fah Bee)! And thank for watching, I appreciate it!
nice
The guy in the red has to be using the gearbox power pro, the sound it makes when he hits gives it away 🤣
He is using the pro power gearbox paddle! Luckily his paddle doesn’t hit crazy hard!
Is the flick shot more powerful than a traditional punch volley?
I would argue that it would vary based on the situation. A flick shot is more powerful when you're creating your own power. A traditional punch volley is more powerful when you're returning the power.
That court is so cool
Holy crap, you guys are so good. That’s 5.5+ PB where I am from 😂 Well done!!
Thanks! 😃
Really fun to watch.. some creative shot making.
Thanks!
Great games! Great play! Any of you (or these guys) play in the CAPA events here in SoCal?
Thanks! Some of us have tried it before, I want to play the CAPA in SD but we are going to AZ for the PPA that weekend!
What's this venue?
This venue is the lifetime fitness center in San Clemente, CA!
@@fabianjacobopickleball Thanks. Didn't recognize the mural. Just subed your channel. I'm local up here in San Marcos.
Thank you for subbing, it is very much appreciated 🙏! I actually grew up in San Marcos, I went the SMHS! Play soccer there and then play college soccer at CSUSM!
Did you call that ball at 14:25 out??
We joke we each other calling the ball out when it is in by a long shot 😂 we didn’t take the point and they knew I was joking 😂. Rec or tournament, I always call fair and if I couldn’t see it I give the point. I even told my opponent my ball was out when he called it good during a singles match in a tournament 😅
Played 1 game against Isaac at Barnes and can confirm he’s a beast 😂
Isaac is a straight stud!
What’s an Ernie?
The Erne is a shot where you hit the pickleball either (1) in the air as you are jumping around the Non-Volley Zone (also known as the Kitchen); or (2) after you run around or through the Kitchen and re-establish your feet out of bounds, just to the side of the Kitchen.
we have a group for you here at RBSTC
I reside in RB, that’s down the road 👍
what is the level in the other courts at this club?
That’s a good question, I can’t confidently say as I didn’t watch any of their games. It’s also hard to judge a players level on film, apologies!
Pretty crazy that these guys also have day jobs
2 of them have 2 jobs 😳
@@fabianjacobopickleball 🤯
Really nice match. Lots of great shots all around. Might be a little better than 5.0 level... at least it would be in my region of the country (Boston area).
Thanks!
I'm finding the audio really low on your videos. I'm interested to know how low do you grip the paddle. Does the butt stick out of your hand or does your hand extend below the butt? Thanks!
I bought a DJI Wireless Microphone, I will now have higher quality audio going forward! That is a great question, I will address this is a future video!
Thanks for the flick-shot videos. Good info! Please show your dumbbell alternative. Thanks!
Nice, Fabi...congrats on the new channel
Thank you!!
POST THE WORKOUT!!
I’ll work on something soon!
Alien shirt boy not lookin so hot out there...needs to drill that backhand more 👽
IMO, strengthening your forearm won't help. It's all form/timing and the acceleration of your wrist snap.
That’s valid, however, here is where I disagree. The same can be said about other sports such as soccer. Power in a kick comes from form/timing and the acceleration of the leg when kicking. If two player have equals technique/ and timing, the player who has a stronger leg will kick the ball harder respective to the other player. I believe the same applies to pickleball. If a two players have equal skill in timing/technique, the player with a stronger muscle group will have a stronger flick. Thoughts?
@@fabianjacobopickleball what creates force is mass x acceleration. Strengthening your arm will allow you to handle a slightly heavier paddle. That creates slightly more mass. If your acceleration remains the same, you'll get slightly more force in your shot. However, it's much easier to increase overall acceleration by using your trunk, shoulder, arm and wrist using the kinetic chain. Work on your form and timing using the kinetic chain. Find a video of a player with an excellent flick and slow it down. Even though the shot is very compact, you'll see each part of the body contributing to the shot production.
@@fabianjacobopickleball Just something to point out. Strong muscle does not equal higher acceleration. In fact it can hinder acceleration if it's overworked and tight. Look at the best tennis players in the world. All of them are relatively thin, not muscle bound. ua-cam.com/video/foHKkiw2qR8/v-deo.htmlsi=udEkOvuCycWD0KA2 Check out the above video of slow motion flicks and rolls and notice the kinetic chain starting with the trunk rotation, then shoulder, arm and finally wrist. That's what will give you the acceleration. Try this progression. Have someone feed you balls about 12-18 inches above the net. Don't worry about form at first. Just hit the ball as hard as you can, clearing the net, focusing on the kinetic chain. Don't worry if the ball hits the back fence. That's the amount of acceleration you want to ultimately use. Then, work on controlling it with better form and good topspin.
@@sbinsdca love the perspective you bring with physics as the reasoning! Is your standpoint that it won’t help or that it slightly helps produce more power/force? My response was addressing the standpoint of “it won’t help” but the last message you mention it helps slightly! What combination of workout do you believe will bring better results? I would love to give it a try and experiment for myself!
@@fabianjacobopickleball stretching your arms, shoulders and wrists for flexibility and the progression I mentioned for improving and getting comfortable with much higher acceleration when hitting the ball.
Great video! How long have you been playing? Any tips for breaking from 4.0 range to 4.5 and beyond besides drilling and tournament play?
I’ve been playing for a little over 2 years now! It depends on your game. For example, I didn’t come from tennis and due to a shorter stature I don’t win by over powering my opponents and ripping drives. My game is to drop, reset from mid-court, and out dink my opponents for a speed up and rely on fast hands. Because of my game style, to reach a higher level (4.0-4.5) I need to improve my transitioning from the baseline to the kitchen. I want to be at the kitchen as much as possible because that is where I am able to play to my strengths! You can really learn a lot about your game and how to improve it by recording yourself. Down to specific details, for example, I noticed that although I transferred good footwork from soccer to pickleball I need to improve my positioning on the court when making contact with the ball to make it a higher percentage shot. Try recording some of your games and take notes on what to work on when you go into your drill sessions!
@@fabianjacobopickleball dude thank you so much for taking the time to answer my comment. I also don’t come from a tennis or racket background. I’m struggling with foot work at the moment and hence why I feel I’m stuck at 4.0. I’ve been playing for a year or so. How often do you drill to make sure you can come up to the kitchen as much as possible??
It is my pleasure, I always try to help where I can! I try to drill 3 times a week but sometimes that can prove to be difficult! It is way more important to drill than to play rec if your goal is to progress your game (especially the better you get as you start to plateau). on that note, I also believe that it is more important to drill correctly rather than just drilling to clock in hours. When I look back at my videos, I look for the mistakes. For example, one of my mistakes is I lean back when resetting the ball from mid-court and that causes a lot of errors. Now I know that when I am drilling mid-court, I focus on creating it a habit to lean forward and not back. Little nuances like this can really build a player, specifically in the competitive scene!
Post your workout for sure…! Glad I found your update..!
Looking good bro 💪
Appreciate it!
👏. I've add this flick shot to my kitchen game. Definitely helps. Have you played at MacKenzie Creek Park(East Chula Vista)? If you haven't i recommend coming through sometimes. 8 Courts and best free courts in San Diego I have been told. If you do come down let me know!! And good luck in your pickleball journey. Will be rooting for you and looking forward to you future videos.
I’m glad to hear that! It’s a great shot that allows you you speed up the ball out of the air on the backhand! I have not played at Mackenzie but I know a few good players that have Suzy as Dale and Kazuya! If I do end up going I will reach out! I appreciate the support, l love hearing player improving their game!
@fabianjacobopickleball cool! Yes I know Dale aswell. You'll feel right at home if you ever come by MCP. Reach when you decide to🙏😁
The biggest issue at MCP is the wait on the advanced courts. 3-5 games in 3 hours is not good. Also, too many playing above their level on those courts.
@sbinsdca really depends what time you go. I'm there around 10:30am and I play consistently play for hours. 3-4 hours a day. Longest I'll wait is literally 1 game. If you go between 6pm-10pm then ya you'll wait for a long time. I haven't been there in the evenings for like 4 months because of that. I only go late mornings to afternoon with no issues.
@@philamguambomb the few times I've gone it's been 6-10
