I've heard the Rubicon 2 which has a lifted low end and top end. Certainly much more of a "fun" sound. However I suspect the dynamics would still suffer under Hegel amps.

Thanks for interesting answer.So in your opinion Hegel is not enough dynamic or Rubicon's are too slow ?Curently I am looking for good amp for my Rubicon's 2 ,I've tried couple of amps(Technics su-g700m2 - totally missmatch,Audiolab 9000a -lacking dynamics,Roksan Atessa -nothing specjal.I want amp that will give me bodied sound with good kick and attack, engagement,emotions and musicality,but not too bright as I listen a lot of rock/metal/electronics music Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I'd say it's sufficient and blends in rather than being forward like an svs.

In all honesty I don't have that broad experience of many other amps to compare it to. However I would say it's more neutral than warm. I really enjoy how clean, quick and rhythmic the sound is. Still enjoying it.

So well that I'm struggling to find any suitable upgrade. Still delivering rich full tones with a wide dispersion. The hybrid tweeter combo in the centre (Vokal) is working magic with vocals in music tracks. Although I would argue that this combo not suitable for low level listening, the 4 ohm speakers require a bit of volume to start shining. Played too loudly (-15db on amp and below) and the high frequencies can start to pierce through.

@@roybrolsbeak don't worry too much about it. That can be dealt with through the denon app or high freq roll of in the Av receiver. For general listening at - 20db there are no problems.

I see you got the 1003 mk2. Im looking into this. Ever made the comparison with svs ? ​@@Rebelship-wx6lz

Yes its the normal Attessa, I'm more than pleased with the combo for my daily use.

I've been using my Opticon Mk2 as a surround setup and they are amazing. The wide dispersion of the tweeters really help to envelope you in the scenes. To add to that the ribbon tweeter of the Vokal is so sweet with the vocals. Whilst the Dali sound remains faithful, I didn't feel it capture my attention as some of its rivals.

Rhythmic, insightful and very neutral. Even at high volumes (80db) it doesn't run out of steam.In a bedroom environment (3.5m x 3.5m) the low frequencies are very well controlled, although a sub could be added. It really depends on your music genre and what you want out of it. If I were to be very critical then I wish it had a bit more dynamics and richer mid-tones.

Audio samples in youtube are very poor when compared to real life. My immediate thoughts when listening to them were that the enclosed woofer felt disconnected from the rest of the sound, which could be better integrated.

This was in relation to the tracks being played with this combination. With the volume at 45 I felt parts of the track were subdued, whereas raising the volume to 55 on the Hegel bought more dynamics and clarity of the percussion instruments. Later investigation revealed that the Epicon 2 require more power and current. I'm sure the Hegel H390 would be capable of driving the Epicon 2's at lower volumes whilst delivering the details in the treble and midrange.
