To pull your meds quicker, go on the patient’s MAR and request the med(s) that’s due. When you sign in the omnicell, the list you created will be on the screen. A nurse showed me that. I work in respiratory dept.

UA-cam suggested this video. I just passed the 6-month mark. I'm in the ambulatory space as a Resource RN. Proud of you, as many of us don't make it to that one-year mark, which is saddening: that after the investment of effort, time and money of nursing school and licensure, not to mention the efforts of all the people around us who are also involved in seeing us through, that so much could go wrong that we would find ourselves unable to go on in our chosen profession. Tragic. Anyway, you are here! Wonderful! Love your attitude of continuous learning, your recognition that you are just beginning, that while your confidence is growing you have years of learning ahead. I just had one of those reminder moments last week where I got the "yeah, but you're just starting out" ping in my head where my heart was in the right place but my practice showed my lack of experience. :) What a blessing it is to be a nurse!

Dang respect for vloggin at work lol. Im a NYC RN as well, lets get it! Live away from NYC like me close to south NJ commute do your 3 days a week call it a day. Living in the City will eat your pay.
Thank you for the videos! New subscriber here. Any advice for new grads regarding living in NYC versus travel nursing? I know they are both totally different in many aspects but what’s more worth it to you? Is the cost of living in NYC and pay manageable for new grads ?
Thank you so much for watching ! I definitely recommend starting your career in the hospital and just learning how to be a good nurse before getting into travel nursing. I think most agencies require at least a year or 2 of experience. But living in nyc is definitely expensive. I don’t live in the city city for that reason but it ofc has its pros. I’ll be making a video about this soon so definitely stay tuned ! ❤️

A lot of the minority people working there feel the exact same way, that why I left. Try nyp or mount Sinai . Theres way more diversity.
It’s such a good hospital and job overall tho so it was definitely hard at first but I think things are so much better now !

Love this videoo! I work there & it’s so true they hardly hire black nurses in that hospital for pediatrics. I tried applying for peds NRT even with experience and they chose new grads. A lot of black nurses happen to be placed on med surg like myself 🥺
