This is a good video, and let me add a couple things - the Food Specials like 9.99 for a Steak dinner have disappeared, and the grocery stores have really gotten expensive. I've read that Vegas has one of the highest food prices in America. There is work here, but not high paying jobs.
Healthcare. Low quality hospitals and doctors. You would think it would improve as the population grows but that's not the case. Fortunately, top notch medical facilities, surgeons, specialists are a 1 hour flight away in Los Angeles. Obviously if it's a medical emergency or you are too ill to travel you to avail yourself of what's in Las Vegas.
Name of the park in mountains edge I love and the name of the subdivision beside mountains edge
Its probably exploration peak park. It may be mountains edge regional park as well.
@ any pictures of the homes in mountains edge thank you
It’s too damn hot and no rain ever. Are we on earth because the national news refuses to talk about Las Vegas except sports and entertainment. The disconnect from the rest of the country is horrible. And I’m only talking about weather not even about the crime and crazy driving. And why do so many people always get sick with the flu? It’s like a hospital as people coughing and sneezing
Vegas New Construction is going to have soooooo many SCORPIONS
That has happened before in certain developments, but I don’t hear about that very often. That is usually when you see them though. Once you start moving dirt around. That is a concern I’d want to investigate if I were buying a new home. Thank you for watching!!
@nicholascherry5962 NOOOOOO😮!!!!
Crime and schools. Crime is bad. Really bad. The best areas are like inner city metro areas in Los Angeles, the worst - imagine 20 square miles of Compton or Houston's 3rd ward similar. To those moving from Los Angeles, you have been warned. Your car will get vandalized. You will be assaulted by homeless people, and the police do nothing at all about it as they are hopelessly outnumbered and don't care if a dead body isn't involved. This month: Fight between homeless people in front of my apartment complex. Two cars broken into. Gate broken as the homeless find ways to enforce their ability to freely roam the complex. When the gate is fixed, they break the parking area gate. When the parking is fixed, they break the main gate. Half the lights in the neighborhood are out due to wire thefts, and my mail has been stolen twice. Just an average month. The schools - dropped to 49th for large urban areas ( essentially tied with Detroit ) Bad. Really fall off the edge of the world, home school or private schools only, might as well be Argentina bad public schools. 76% of the district are title 1 schools. Most of the rest are magnet schools or outside of Vegas. Those are decent enough, but not world class. Discipline is enforced mostly by the sheer terror of being booted out of the magnet program and suffering under the main school in the area. It's simply not a great city to raise children in.
Buy from a trusted builder or go custom
That is great advice!! Thank you for watching!!
Phoenix is more family-oriented which makes it a great place to raise a family. Las Vegas is for everybody including the unmarried crowd.
@@JazeelBenIsrael how so? Maybe a little better but worse than the national average
Las Vegas is a great place to live but DO lower your expectations. The level of education/intelligence/common sense is sorely lacking here. If you are speaking in that many here in Las Vegas are "rough", that is a daily accurate statement. Lots of tattoo ink freaks and the like. Every time I go to my vacation condo in Coronado, the lack of inky freaky people there is a nice change.
Good, fair comparison.
I appreciate your positive feedback!! Thank you for watching!!
Vegas is trash 🗑️ . It's a disgusting dirty hot overcrowded overpriced homeless riddled hell.
No way I am leaving. I really love living here.
I’m glad to hear it!! Me too! The video was not meant to knock Las Vegas in any way. I did the video, because most of my videos focus on the positive and I wanted to make one that has a different perspective. Thank you for watching!!
Looking to move in May, work in service industry. Know if any realtors/rentals that will work with me. I can pay up to 4-5 months rent in advance. Budget about $1500
I typically don’t do rentals, but I can put you on a search. I’ll just need some details of what you are looking for. If you wanna give me a call Monday or sometime later in the week I’m happy to chat and share any info I have. 702-773-9007. Thank you for watching!!
I visit LV several times a year, dont gamble much and i dont drink, just love the vibe. My cousin lives there for many years in henderson. Stay off the strip its relaxing. Where i live outside Seattle, there is 270 days of rain a year. I hate it. All good points you mention. I am retired so debating move. Good video.
I moved from CA. I love CA, but moving to Las Vegas was the best decision my wife and I ever made. If you have any questions feel free to reach out. 702-773-9007. Thank you for watching!!
Vegas is awesome, I live in the Southwest area of the city and it is growing like wildfire.
For sure!! There are more coming than going still. The purpose of the video was to explain that vegas is not a perfect city. No city is. I love living here. But I wanted to make a video that touched on the reasons people are leaving. 3 years ago not many people were leaving and everybody was coming. More people have left the last two years. However you are correct Las Vegas is still a growing city. I live in the SW too and absolutely love it. Thank you for watching!!
I guess I could mountain bike on my trek throughout mountains edge and the red rock trail how close is the nearest chic fil a or taco restaurant near the Comunnity
I think you will find the closest Chick-fil-A about 15 minutes away, near the 215 freeway. 215 and flamingo.
How many trails are there for mountain biking and hiking in the red rock
For mountains edge and Summerlin there are a lot of places. Mountains edge is about 15 minutes south of Summerlin. There are some nice parks though. In Summerlin there are parks and trails all over. Particularly in Summerlin south and west.
Adam I’m looking for new 2,500 sqft 4 bedroom 2/3 bath two car with brown stucco exterior on culdesac in summerlin or mountain edge or the providence with lots of hiking and biking trails
Absolutely!! I’ll send a couple videos. Here is my number to discuss further. 702-773-9007

I moved here 9 yes ago (lived here 3 yrs in the 90s, which is why I chose this city to return to). I used to go to the strip 3x a week to just walk up and back 5.3 miles for exercise and to enjoy th scenery. Havent been back to strip since Covid because of parking fees and other prices. Also havent been to Fremont since Covid dueto cost and high prices and parking. I miss thisr being a 24-hr town when i could go to wal-mart when i got off work at 11pm. I feel that I just stay in my house anymore. I would move if it didnt cost too much for the actual move. I miss being able to afford to go out.
I’m sorry to hear that. Covid changed a lot about this city. I think it changed a lot about everywhere. Thank you for watching!!
Ease up on the cheesy sound effcts, champ. It's annying and distracting.
I appreciate the feedback. Thank you for watching!!
Yes, the wages in Las Vegas is a joke. My pay as a nurse at UMC was ridiculously low compared to my pay in California. On top of that, my rent was high, almost like my rent in Los Angeles. Practically 60% of my check went to pay my rent. I lived in Las Vegas for only three years and I hightail it back to California. Las Vegas healthcare industry is disastrous as well. I saw more and more doctors leaving Las Vegas to practice in California because the pay is just better.
Great insight. I have heard that as well. I appreciate you commenting. Thank you for watching!!
Hello. Any tips on a couple moving from Hawaii, late 20’s, no kids, currently each of us works 6 days a week and double shifts in Hawaii, looking to give Vegas a go maybe a year or 2 at the most. My bf works at 2 resorts and I’m an assistant mgr at an arcade and work for a drug testing lab. Not looking to buy a car in hopes of living near work in Vegas.
Congrats!! It’ll be a great move!! They call Las Vegas the ninth island because so many Hawaiians come here. If you are looking to rent and walk, the downtown arts district area is the best in the city other than the strip. The strip is also good, but very expensive. I actually have a video coming out in the next month or so about the most walkable neighborhoods in Las Vegas. I would say overall vegas is not very walkable. But there are neighborhoods you can get by. I hope that helps. Thank you for watching!!
Sista I give you some advice. Bradda to sista.. 1) have your BF check with his HR to see if any of his resorts has sister properties in Vegas, and utilize that option first. 2)stay away from strip casinos, yeah get the name and glamour, of the name, but fighting traffic and squeezing your okole to avoid layoffs and reduced hours (seasonally) is not worth it. Probably make the same amount of Kala anyway. 3) local casino/resorts are better ( Boyd properties, station casinos, red rock hotel/casino, South Pointe resort/casino should be the number ONE targets. 4)if there is a new hotel/casino opening at or around the time of your move, go for it, because they going over hire. So that's a good way to get your feet in the door. BUT, BUT ,BUT. When one overhires you better damm know in a year or two, they going do major layoffs. So unless your on top 30% on the seniority list, I wouldn't Bank on job security. 5) go through the pre employment process while your still at home. Apply online, schedule the interview on your days off if can, if not. Take a vacation days or call in sick. But keep your jobs through the process. No just go Gung ho. 7) the year you guys going come if nothing fell through with jobs yet. Come vacation maybe 3 times and network with fellow kanaks.. look when get the hawaiian festivals and stuff like that. I said three times so you really experience the weather type. The cold in December/january. The oven heat in august/September 8) I would rent at least the first 6 months. I know our goal is to buy house. But you no like be tied down with a major purchase in a city where nothing is guaranz.. Last but not least. Be patient,, run the hawaiian time method. Trust ke akua. If plans not working, wasn't ke akua's plans
lived there many years ago, glad i left that crime ridden shi hole
Good video. I like Vegas for a fun weekend but to live I'll take Phoenix. Personally I don't want to see slot machines everywhere I go and I like the warmer winters and the more lush Sonoran desert with large saguaro cactuses. I do wish Phoenix was closer to the California beaches though.
I live near Queen Creek. I notice 10 degrees cooler here than phoenix 30 miles away.
Great points. Phoenix is a great city. My dad lives there and absolutely loves it. Winters are definitely nicer. Less wind too. I do love the entertainment possibilities here though. I appreciate your perspective. Thank you for watching!!
Only hot looking girls are strippers and hot bartenders.... Vegas local girls are wack.
Looks like you and I moved to Vegas in the same year in 2016 from LA and have seen these shifts. This is the most in-depth and honest list of why people have moved. I will share this with people that are thinking of moving here.
I appreciate your positive feedback!! What Part of LA are you from? Thank you for watching!!
Las Vegas is great if you bring your own money and don’t need a job .
#11 once you move to Las Vegas and then leave, I would say The percentage of people that always come back is higher than anywhere else.
I've recently ran in to a few people that left for greener pastures and ended up coming back. Great Perspective. Thank you for watching!!
There not much to do in las vegas It's all gambling and loosing money.
I'm sorry that has been your experience. I don't drink or gamble and I love it here. I found an amazing group of friends though. So I am very lucky. I wish you luck wherever you ended up. Thank you for watching!!
Moved here from Pa in April. So far I’m loving it. Already got run over by a car!
Oh no!! I’m sorry you got hit by a car. Are you ok?
@ I’ve been better. Trying to get healthier and fix myself as much as I can
Did you call the heavy hitter?
@ yes I did!
What is the appeal of Phoenix? Worse summers, worse traffic, worse pollution, less to do, higher taxes. Just warmer winters.
For my parents it was warmer winters and spring training baseball for entertainment. I agree with you though. I prefer vegas.
@ Right but being without cooling unexpectedly truly matters
@@adamhockenbery8819 I live in Phoenix and don't want to move, but if I were to move anywhere it would be Las Vegas. I'm a Raiders fan lol
@@derekevans8294that’s awesome!! My parents love Phoenix too. I can’t even lure them here with grand kids lol. I’ve said the same thing to my wife. If I moved anywhere Phoenix would be at the top of my list.
@@adamhockenbery8819 Just curiois is Sumerlin a neighborhood in the city of Las Vegas? Or is it its city, a suburb of Las Vegas like Scottsdale is to Phoenix?
Phoenix lost their hockey team
When did that happen? It has to have been recent. I haven’t followed hockey in a few years. They had a decent team and Wayne Gretzky was part of it. Crazy! Thank you for letting me know. Thank you for watching!!
@adamhockenbery8819 This season is the first year they're not in Phoenix, they moved to Salt Lake City. I don't watch hockey either, but I knew about it since I live in Phoenix

@@adamhockenbery8819 They went bankrupt a few years ago and NHL took over management. When they sold it to the current owners, they coudn't make it work in Phoenix so moved to SLC last season. Hardly anybody knew they were gone.
whats NOT to like about las vegas?? 1. the culture here is california/so cal/west coast ego, narcissism, gaslighting, entitlement mentality, lack of humanity which gives a massive lack of community, and some of the worst, rudest, nastiest, nasty people ive ever encountered anywhere and i travel for work all over the country and every time i come home its just instant trashy attitudes from people. and I grew up in NY near the city and these west coast people are the WORST. these people literally just dont give a rats arse about anything but themselves and their own property. i recently worked in NYC and people were nicer there than they are here. 2. people here are not polite. hold the door open for someone and they cant even say thank you for example. sometimes their entitlement shows and they wait at the door for you to open it and when you open it for yourself they just walk in and literally will walk right thru you. people have no patience here, they will cut you in line. people here are very combative, and very egotistic and if gaslighting was an olympic sport, las vegas would get the silver (LA/Socal would get the gold) 3. the drivers here are the worst, and 75% of my drive cam footage of these trash pandas driving are california plates, or theres some reference on their car that they are from california (car was bought in cali, or has raiders plates, or LA stickers on it etc) (see 1 and 2 above as part of this issue) 4. crime, and our overly and disgustingly corrupt and lazy and really pointless police department (metro) who treats law abiding citizens and victims of a car accident or a crime like complete trash (not in every case, but more often than it should). i was being assaulted in front of a cop and he told me to call 911. no joke, these cops out here are utter worthless. 5. weather.....its garbage. 320 days a year of sunshine just plain sucks, the heat is getting worse with all the building. however, there are machosists that love the heat so all the power to them i guess. 6. schools, our corrupt school district, the leaders, and the west coast mentality all mixed in create a hostile environment for parents to deal with and a really crappy care or concern for the kids. 7. the lack of greenery is disgusting. the desert really sucks. it was nice when i first got here, but now its so boring, and brown monotone. 8. there is NO real quality public transportation here, however that depends on you preferences. personally i cannot stand public transportation 9. our economy and amenities for locals are pretty much limited. the strip, fremont, and bars on nearly every corner in this city, and local casinos control everything. wanna take your kids to the movies, or a bowling alley, gotta go thru a noisy smoky casino for almost all of them. everything else is generally over crowded, over priced, and over noisy. 10. getting a job. its amazing how much of a pain it is to get a job out here, even for places that are hiring for many places. its like you have to know someone to get a job. 11. reefer....well, thats either good, or bad depending on your outlook of it. 12. expense....its meh...theres worse places, and there are better places. 13. geography and criminals. theres nowhere for criminals to go....we are a wasteland in the middle of nowhere and everything is basically hours away to another major area. so our criminals just end up everywhere and anywhere within the county. 14. california....so many policies from cali affect our cost of living here. gas for one example is high because of california 15. entertainment. wanna see a hockey game, football game, concert, etc we sure do have that stuff, but its so grossly expensive its not even worth it. 16. disrespect in neighborhoods. people have zero care for their neighbors. people here love their loud exhaust, obnoxious car stereos, etc. and will blast their trash in residential areas. while there are people like this elsewhere, i noticed it far more here. 17. F1...nuff said there. 18. our airport is the most expensive airport for concessions after security, a bottle of water for example is more expensive here than even in LA, SF, NYC. everything is marked up more in our airport than anywhere else in the nation. 19. the lies and the scamming....the LVCVA, metro, county commissioners, etc etc etc are nothing but a bunch of people that love to lie, cheat, scam the public....no oversight, no accountability, and no concern for the public at all. ive lived here nearly 18 years, and at this point im far far over this place and the biggest slide downhill for this place was about 6 years ago I started noticing the changes here. 3 more years before I can leave, and I cannot wait to leave. the good about this place.... 1. many roads are not too bad in terms of quality, generally we have either really bad ones, or decent to above decent not much in the middle. 2. navigating around this city is actually decent, when traffic isnt screwed up by one of the 903240 construction projects going on all at the same time 3. our airport...its easy to get to overall, navigate around, get thru it etc. 4. village pub....great food.
I hope liberals leave.
Vegas is a good place to take a vacation for 3 days and get out of here after that there is nothing in Vegas to do other than gamble for middle-aged or senior people Vegas has a lot to offer vacationers but not much to the residents this is the worst move I made in my life moving out here life is not normal out in Las Vegas
The gangster and thugs from California. are making it even worse.
Oh, actually the biggest scammers in las vegas are the mechanics, oil change.
I’m sorry to hear that. I found a great mechanic through a friend. But it took me a few years living out here.
My auto insurance doubled this past 4 years. I’ve never experienced such scamming in my entire life. AC, plumbers, electricians, appliance repair, all scammers, especially AC and plumbers. Incredible. Scam city.
I’ve heard that from a lot of people. I tell my clients and friends if anything breaks to call me. Now days a lot of plumbers ect… work on commission. If you need a good vendor feel free to reach out.
The biggest problem with Las Vegas since I moved here, 1974, has been its infinitely regulated, ignorant, stupid, real estate appraisers. Next we have no education. Vegas is the Kmart of America with a collection of the dumbest people in the country. What do you expect from a state of black jack dealers. Next, yes, way too hot. It’s over. Schools? Eh, I covered that. Any parent that sends their child to public school in Vegas is, well, a black jack dealer. I have to agree, Vegas is over.
looking to move there (again) soon. 55 yr old and ready to stay!
Thats Awesome!! Feel free to reach out with any questions. 702-773-9007
Dirty City, Homelleessss and crime all over the city.👎👎👎👎👎🤮🤮🤮🤮
Too many Californians moving to Las Vegas with their liberal ideologies. Please stay in California.
Ots overpriced their ain't a whole.lot of jobs..outside the casino and area 51
After 13 years, I'm leaving LV going in the opposite direction, back down the 15 to SoCal (possibly NorCal) Wages haven't kept up with inflation, I work in the hospitality industry (restaurant manager) Take a look at the salaries $55k, that's a joke in today's world. I made more than this in 2015!! At least if I'm gonna suffer with inflation, I can at the very least earn $87.5k at the same company, doing the very same job and with much better labor laws!!
Congrats on the job in CA!! I know a girl that is an mri tech that made $50 per hour here in Las Vegas and just moved to Orange County because they offered her $100 per hour. I totally get it. I’m sorry it didn’t work out here, but I’m glad you are getting a great opportunity in CA. I appreciate you sharing!! Thank you for watching!!
Moved here from San Diego after living in northern Cali, the year before and it’s quite a transition. All the rules for the streets, cars, parking lots, never been so scared to lose my only thing I actually owned left. And the people here are different, kinda just rough, even the kids. But I’m not homeless like I was in cali so I’ve been enjoying it.
I’m glad you are enjoying it here! Thank you for watching!!
Bizarre. If “everyone “ leaving, why is the population growing?
There are definitely people still moving here. Infact more than are coming here, but the migration here has slowed and more people have moved away the last two years than the previous several years. I appreciate your insight. Thank you for watching!!
Thanks....
Thank you for watching!!
