We recently went up in tire size on the Bronco so in this video we regear to 5.38’s and install a shave kit from Ballistic Fabrication on the rear Sterling axle. We did this work in preparation for our 2023 Rubicon trip.
Wheelin’ Hurricane Creek Trail in the F-350.
Переглядів 1,3 тис.2 роки тому
This week we finally take the F-350 offroad as we headed to Hurricane Creek Trail near the TN/NC border. This trail isn’t very high on difficulty but it is a tight trail for a full-size. We’re hitting it at the beginning of summer so water levels weren’t too high, most true 4x4 vehicles will be capable of completing the trail. Thanks for watching!
Superduty Flatbed Build Part 2.

In this week’s video I finish up the work on the flatbed for my F-350. Let me know if you have any questions on the build. Stay tuned because we will be taking this thing offroad in the next video.

Day 2 in Harlan KY for OscarX! We started the day out at Mason Jar and ended up spending a lot of time climbing up the first obstacle now that the tree is gone. We had an awesome time out at Black Mountain, this is one of our favorite trips of the year. Thanks for watching!

Looks good! I have been looking at doing similar but I want to have receivers mounted in the bumper to reduce hang ups on my Jeep.
Nice I like channel and angle iron, can’t rust on the inside of tubing. I also enjoy seeing different ideas.
Wow
Thanks
What was the thickness of your aluminum floor? How's it holding up?
My local metal supply only had 1/8” on hand so that’s what I used. Thicker would definitely be better as it’s gotten a few dents from hauling stumps but nothing too serious. I can always remove the pieces and hammer them back straight if I need to.

I hope you polled out the ecpu computer , and battery on this , ? because welding on the truck with the ecpu / control modal still in the truck will damage the computer components in it , it is even notated in the owners manual not to weld on these truck do to this , these truck has so many electric components on them that can be effected or destroyed by the electric welding current ,
Yessir I took care of it. No issues.
your truck is a chasse cab frame ,
Yes it is.
Like the power Ranger Filming! Love the Bronco!
Haha thanks!
That was a nice crossing
Keep the videos coming!
I appreciate it!
How does it go....? Something about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?
Very nice videos. Enjoyed them. Been a bucket list item for far too long. Did you drive the Bronco from South Carolina?
Thanks I appreciate it! This time I did drive it all the way out, about a 2 week trip in total. I definitely recommend getting out there.
Great video. Love the Bronco. I used to live not far from there. We had to evacuate Killifornia's Marxist control. But I do miss that stuff. Not enough to come back thow... 😁
Yeah I live on the east coast myself but it’s nice to get out west when I can.
That front dig is sweet!!
Love the look and performance of your Bronco. And that you wheel it like you do.
Oh yeah! I appreciate it.
😂😂😂
Please let us know where you were in the snow. It looks like it’s within five minutes of my cousins house who lives on Highway 11 in PICKENS county South Carolina. We drive all over those mountains when it snows Love the bronco
Yep it was right around there. We went up highway 11 and did a loop up 276 to Brevard then around to Hendersonville and back down 176.
Nice bronco
As Ive mentioned before, awesome LOW stance, again thanks for keeping it mainly Ford!
Always!
As a 45 year Master Electrician, I can say you did a great job on your segment pipe bending. That was my favorite part of my job along with other fabrication. Very nice design and fabrication/build, even though I don't know squat about diagonal bracing for strength. The multiple point fair-lead capability is an awesome idea, but how do you get your hook (or other form of attachment) through the rollers?
Thanks! The hook is removal with just a hitch pin, so it just takes a second to pull it off and pull it through the fairlead. The winch has been more useful than I thought.
Nice pickup, interesting how it does sound like a V10 though.
Nice Bobtail! Owned a couple myself in the 70's and early 80's. Very nice build and I really like the low stance. One question I had was with the engine, why does it sound like you're running solid lifters? I noticed it especially in the earlier Rubicon video. Been there a couple times myself, lots of fun. Went down to the Springs and back out the next day on a Honda 3 wheeler with some Jeepin' friends in 1980. Cutting and fitting the shave kit would not be something I'd care to do. Nice job...as is the entire rig. Thanks for keeping it mainly Ford. Are you running two transfer cases?
Thanks man! I’m not really sure why it has so much valvetrain noise, they are normal hydraulic roller lifters but it’s not a new engine build. I got it used and just refreshed it. I think the noise is probably in the roller rockers, the lifters are new. And it has an atlas 4 speed transfercase. That’s the only drivetrain part that isn’t from a ford.
So cleeeeeaaaaan
Beautiful rig man!!!
Thank you!
Curious if you thought about frame flex when driving off road. I'm thinking of fabbing a flatbed for my Superduty and mounting it like a tanker. Rigid in the rear and springs up front. I'm worried if it's rigid mounted all the way around then you'd stress the frame as it tries to flex.
Ideally you want all of the flex to be in the suspension instead of the frame Offroad so I tied the bed in directly with the frame. If I take it a step further with rocksliders and a roll cage I would design those to add as much stiffness to the frame as I could as well. That’s my opinion.
How much would somebody charge you for just the fabrication and welding
Any update? How has it been in a 1 ton?
It’s been great so far but I don’t do anything too hardcore with this truck.
I injoyed ! Thks
Good looking welds.
Love it
OSHA approved
Good job...... From down under..
Thank you! I appreciate it.
Is that a v10 in that f350?
It just has the 5.4!
It's too bad it doesn't, I've had both and the V10 was awesome. Contrary to what others say, I got great mileage with my V10 unless I was towing, then it was the usual 8-8.5 @@iamtaylorcorbett
And that's the way I Bronco should be
I am not a bronco fan at all but I really love the stance of your rig. My JK is on 40’s and tons sitting as low as I can get it.
Thanks man! I appreciate it, I’m planning on going to 40’s in the future.
Love the truck man. It’s cool seeing a creative mind at work!
Thanks man! I appreciate that.
Nice 👍
what thickness of material did you use?
Most of it is just .120” wall to keep the weight down but the C-channel is 0.25” thick.
that came out great!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I love the bronco ! I have a 69 1/2 cab that I am trying to figure out what direction to go on my build.. do you have any videos explain more of what you have done to the bronco ?
Thanks man! I don’t have a walk around video yet but it’s something I’m planning to do.
Great build man, great quality video! Good job man!
Thank you!
How do you only have 357 subs??? awesome video man!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
How long was your tubing I’m trying to figure out how much metal I need to get for mine
I think I used about 40’ of square tube and about 32’ of round tube for the hoop and everything behind the cab. The bed is about 9’x7’.
Great vid bro
Thanks man!
Thats a coooool truck!
Thank you!
Dude you are a tube bending magician!
Haha thanks man! It definitely took some time to make two of them the same.
How did you get to sit low like that
It takes a lot of small changes but the big ones were widening the frame for more up travel and cutting alot of sheet metal.
@@iamtaylorcorbett awesome! That set up looks so good
Very nice job, what did you put as flooring?
Thanks! I’m working on the floor right now. I’ll be using 1/8” aluminum sheet. I’ll have a video about that soon!
Honestly I think I like the new entrance more than the old one!
It was definitely fun! And you don’t have to worry about being off camber anymore.
