why do you need notepad?
Hi Andrea, we need notepad ++ to open SUMO files and modify. Alternatively, you can open them using default notepad in Windows too.
Hello, may I know how do u get the clear photos without any icon/road names in the map? Cause if using the google map, it will have
Hi 👋, Sumo currently does not have good quality background map. The only option is to get aerial image from GIS software (QGIS Open Source) and not to simply copy and paste from google map. I will create a short video on it. Stay tuned.
Thnx bro
Exactly what I was looking for and the issue is solved. Huge thumbs up!
I was wondering how it works if you want to build the project into an executable. Are there specific things you have to do to get that to work?
You can build it. I dont think there would be a problem. as long as you run the exe, it should start working. If not let me know.
@@RoadwayVR That was a very non-specific question from me indeed. :) I can build it, however the SUMO-GUI does not start and without the console I don't get any direct feedback on why that happens. I thought perhaps I am building in a wrong folder or have to include the SUMO network somewhere specific or include it in the builds folder.
@@groenopautoroute I think you need to build it in the same unity project folder. Please feel free to join the community discord channel I recently created: discord.gg/REyhZhszAU
Wow, Well done daskhosh vaghean :-))
is there any way to customize for example from OSMWebWizard we customize specific region for sumo, but is there any way to directly customise from OSMWebWizard to unity simply?
Not now, but, thats something we can think of in future.
Thanks Buddy😊
what does VR have to do with it?
Hi, you see 3D object as digital lines with one image on top of it. So lets say, consider a 3D model of a chair, it consists of digital lines (meshes) and images (texture). Now, the more digital lines, the more GPU and CPU. LOD tried to reduce this by giving less meshes to the far object. Once you get away from the chair, the number of meshes get lower. Unlike normal pc which has one screen, VR has two separate screen (two eyes). Everything needs to be rendered two times. So, VR starts about learning about optimization.
you saved me.... thank you!!!!!!!!!
I have 51 events in mine 😢 Edit: its 10k tris and vertices when I look at the walls(cause there's nothing outside the walls, but when I look somewhere in my scene with rooms and objects and stuffs, lights. It shoots all the way to 500K tris, nd 328 vertices
Please help me
Hi Have you figured it out? I mean frame debugger is the key. Please update me if you found the solution
@@RoadwayVR Oh my bad sorry, yes I did, I checked my frame debugger and I saw what was increasing my events, my doors each had over 100k vertices, and i didnt even know, so i went to blender made it more optimized to like 2k vertices, and i also did this stuff called static batching. and my lights wher also another culprit, I made it baked instead of realtime, except my flashlight since it's always dynamic.
@@dprazo In my case, I am disabling everything as it is VR and needs to be super optimized :). I am forgetting about shadow, complex shader, even transparent materials :) Good luck with the developement
@@RoadwayVR Thank you zame to you
I've just had a little trouble opening the SUMO2Unity.sumocfg by clicking play in Unity. Error: Invalid Number Format (double) 0,02 Quitting (on error). Do you have any suggestions to solve it?
Hi can you use a dot . instead of a comma , as a decimal separator, 0.02?
@@RoadwayVR first of all thank you a lot for you quick reply. Yes I've already tried this way, but it doesn't work
@@edoardopignatelli5128 Can you please follow step by step tutorials including set up SUMO environment home variables etc and let me know if the issue is solved
I followed the tutorials properly, but it still doesn't work, and the same goes for one of my colleagues. I noticed that in the tutorial for setting the environment variables, one variable, SUMO_LIBRARIES, was not set. Could this be the key point where the error lies?
@@edoardopignatelli5128 The only way is, to delete your library and make the whole project as zip file and share with me so I can take a look at it. Otherwise, it is very difficult to reproduce the same error.
i have a question, how do i load my own sumocfg file to unity to load my map sir can u explain?
Hi, Sure, for Unity, you need to create 3D scene of your current SUMO network, for that, currently, there is no way to generate the 3D roads of your existing sumo network, you need to create your road network in blender (see the other video) or mathwork roadrunner. Then, export as opendrive for SUMo and as fbx for unity :)
@@RoadwayVR thanks sir i will see the video and try

this might have been a fix but I have no idea what this guy is saying, it sounds like english but I can't understand his accent
You are right, I am sorry because of my accent. I will try to improve my accent in future vidoes🌹
@@RoadwayVR I hope I didn't make you feel insulted, I fully understand the effect an accent has, I'm a born and bread Cornishman, I moved to the Midlands in the 80's for work and no one had a fekin clue what I was saying. I had to force myself into a neutral accent fairly sharpish, the effect of that was then being accused of talking very posh. FFS mate you can't win. But please keep up the content creation. Cheers.

Hi, Thank you for sharing your awesome work. I have a question on the smoothness of vehicle sync from vissim to unity. From my understanding the update frequency of vissim is 0.05s, which is insufficient to show smooth vehicle moving in Unity. However, the vissim vehicle in Unity from your video move very smoothly. Can you share how you make the vissim vehicle move smoothly in Unity scene?
Hi @taehooh, thanks for your kind words, you need to add a rigidbody to each car and set the rigidbody state to "Interpolate". Then, update the vehicle state based on velocity (vx,vy,vz). This will results in a smooth movement of cars.
@@RoadwayVR Thank you so much, let me try that following your comments
Thank you! This was a simple and easy fix that I needed!

I am happy it helped you :)
For any one using a shader using appdate_tan, you can create your own struct to replace it. struct MyCustomVertex { float4 vertex : POSITION; float4 tangent : TANGENT; float3 normal : NORMAL; float2 texcoord : TEXCOORD0; UNITY_VERTEX_INPUT_INSTANCE_ID //Insert }; Replace the v2f vert(appdata_tan v) with v2f vert(MyCustomVertex v) I had a cel shader and this worked for me as I didn't have a struct to edit and know nothing at all about shaders. Greatly appreciate the video. I was going insane.
Useful Video :) Thanks
Thanks Glad it helped 🙏🏻
Thank you! I added some clouds from the asset store and it was working only on one eye. This fixed it!
Glad it helped
Its also more obvious on shiny metallic surfaces, so you can turn down the smoothness in the material slider, or if you are using a single texture for a mesh instead of a repeat you can edit the texture directly - lower the metallic and roughness scale on the troublesome faces and that can sort it out. Its usually barely noticeable because the troublesome faces on your mesh are so thin.
Thanks for adding this tip, it will help other people.
As a gamer I’m experiencing this problem with all the unity vr games. Including steam vr home. I’m not a programmer, what do you suggest?
I played few VR games in steam; if the game is VR compatible, there should not be any issue like this. Since the programmer is responsible to fix this issue at the programming stage with doing something like this video process. Is those game VR compatible? or their main use cases are PC?
Thank you!
is it work for cardboard vr also
Good question, Cardboard VR has significantly lower number of pixels compared to Meta Quest 2 or 3. So, while these techniques might still help however keep this into your mind.
Noted.thank you for your response@@RoadwayVR
@@lmvsram3477 your welcome :)
objects are blured on distance in my cardboard game .its normal on game view..but in vr i can only see sharpen objects near by camera@@RoadwayVR
@@lmvsram3477 Your problem is hardware issue not software. I propose you to do one exercise. So, play a video in youtube in your PC and move your eye very close to the monitor (sticking your eye to the monitor). You will see pixels (rectangular shapes). Now, if we have the technology to add lots of pixels in monitor in this exercise, then you wont see pixels and everything would be good. Now jump into cardboard, Cardboard has few number of pixels and you are wearing the headset and seeing the display from very close correct? So, the only solution is to increase pixels of carboards which you cannot instead you need to buy a new good device. i am sorry but, These techniques in this video do not help your issues.
Solved my issue when I was using URP Pipeline, thank you!!!

This is great but how does this apply to shadergraph?
Thanks for your comment. Sorry, at the moment, I do not have any deep knowledge about shadergraph. I will consider your comment once I learn it.

@@VRWarLab did you find the solution?
@@leonidorekhva6987 nope. Any shader that doesn't work by default will need to be adapted
Hi, I am a student studying VR. I've been trying to find a way to link vissim to unity for weeks now, but it fails every time. Can you give me some ideas on how to do it? It will be of great help to my research.
Hi, sure, I will create a tutorial on it soon.
@@RoadwayVR I have a few questions for you. Do I need to pay for vissim to use the driving simulator function? Is there a place where I can get a basic idea or code to connect with Unity? I keep trying a few ways, but I fail often.
@@나도한번-x1h Yes, you need to buy additional module which is driver simulator costs around 800USD.
thanks,life saver
The problem was not solved for me with just render scale and antialiasing. When I activated the Post Processing section in the camera settings and selected antialiasing there, the problem was greatly reduced. Of course, other techniques will need to be added for a complete solution. Thanks for the tips.
As I said, Render scale is not recommended as it is resource intensive(last solution). Your input regarding activating antialiasing in post processing definitely something I will take a look at it as well.
I know nothing about shader coding. This information is really valuable. I had such a problem a long time ago and I had to find an alternative shader as a solution. Thank you very much for this information. Sincerely regards.
Thanks for the valuable comment. I also do not know anything about shader coding. I made this video from beginner standpoint like myself. I am happy it helped you.
it is possible in UE?
Yes, it would be a perfect integration 👏👍
is it possible to make a video? thanks@@RoadwayVR
@@RBPlannerPlatform I do not have time for now to do that. I will consider this. However, if you know Carla, it has also Vissim Plugin for UE. But, it does not work without Carla.
yeah , thanks , i know it,@@RoadwayVR
what is the maximum size of the terrain in Roadrunner?
1. Activate one tile (deactivate other tiles) 2. Create your road 3. Deactivate the tile and activate the neighbouring tile. I tried up to 10 tiles (8k) resolution, it worked without any issue. I believe we can try even more tiles. If you experience crashes, then try small and medium resolution image. I hope this helps.
Thank you very much for great tutorial
Glad you liked it
Hi i tried the above render scale and alaising techinique. But still i am getting the wavy jagged edges in most of my game objcts. But i saw their demo apk it not have any jagged edges. I am using their unity package only but my build is having that Could you help me on this?
which package you are referring to? Try other solutions like baking light by changing directional light or disabling point lights
@@RoadwayVR I am using ARchiviz PRO Vol 8 unity package I tried the VR Demo apk. it doesnt have any aliasing. But My unity build after so many iterations having this
if I Increased the render scale it didnt fix that, only increases resolution. tried almost all of the settings.
@@praveenb-xr I am sorry that these could not help you. If you find out the solutions, then I would be happy to know it as well. Please reply it back when you find out the solution.
