Incredibly helpful - enriched is truly the word I would use to describe how you help me understand your experience. Thank you, and please do more of these short videos so more neurotypical people can start to understand and be helpful to nonspeakers everywhere.

Consumers of therapeutic services, please be aware that facilitated communication is NOT evidence based. Meaning there's no scientific proof showing this method does what it says the intention is for. There are so many studies showing facilitated communication are the thoughts of the prompter, not the individual. Not only is FC ineffective, but harmful to those around them. Please do some research of scientific, peer reviewed articles and not biased, word of mouth reports.

I'd sooner trust the testimony of one single non-speaker who says S2C transformed their lives, giving them a voice they would not have otherwise, than trust legions of scientists who have who knows what secret conflicts of interest.

@@matthewstevens4155 No. It isn't ridiculous. There is a long and well documented issue of authorship with all forms of assisted communication involving a human helper.

It is irresponsible to use this technique without solid research that finds it effective. Worse, it is unethical and even abusive to the mentally impaired to ignore the decades of research that has found these methods of communication to only convey the thoughts of the facilitator. Does the child want a tuna sandwich for lunch via S2C? No, the idea of a tuna sandwich comes from the facilitator. S2C doesn't reveal the true identity of an autistic child - it buries it.
