Its less hard when actually riding. Still, locking in with the outside leg is important so you have only little weight on the inside leg- and thats actually the hard part that makes the difference

I had Dunstall norton that fairly easily to knee drag. Took an easy ride on angeles crest ca. Took a slow 60 mph sweeper knee dragging and hit a rock with my knee midway. What God did I believe in? Molokan, krisna, Christian, and others I never practiced!

This sort of lean with knee down position is ONLY for looking cool. Otherwise you can lean with your knees clamped to the tank also.

Your leg isn't what is holding you on. The centrifical force going around the turn is pushing you into the bike since you would be going straight if the bike wasn't forcing you to turn.

Centrifugal force is also holding you on the bike in a turn. Using this device would require a lot a more strength.

Agree with @jstagzsr; I used to race bikes in the late 70s and when you have speed in the corners, the only way you are going to negotiate that curve at high speed, is to lean the bike right over, but in order to do that effectively, you have to hang off the bike and touch the curb with your inside knee. You get the hang of all the angles and weight distribution after lots of practice. A bit scary at first, but it starts to make sense as your confidence increases with your racing speed.

The G-Force or centripetal force if you will kind of helps keep the rider on the bike when they are making a turn sharp enough to lean down that low

I was always told at track training to think more about bringing your chest towards the bars rather than the tank. Think forces you to bend your elbows correctly without flaring them out sideways.

The problem with this method is gravity. It doesnt give the feeling of lean angle......it gives a feeling of having to hold on tight to the bike. When ur going around a corner....u dont feel gravity like you would if u were still and leaning over.
