    youre going to learn soon that a sprinter van is a mechanical nightmare. total junk.

    Brilliant work guys. With the leaky handle, can you not remove it and seal behind it with silicone and then use some around it once its refitted?

    • @MelissaandKyle
      @MelissaandKyle 4 дні тому

      I thought about that. The problem I’ve run into is I bought a new rubber seal ring that goes around the hole. Because it wasn’t a OEM part the fit was a little tighter, which made it seal from water. However because it was tighter the handle wouldn’t go back in on its own. So I guess it’s trying to find a solution that tows the line of being to right of a seal and enough that the handle closes on its own

    Nice content! However, the music is super annyoning and tiring. Pronounced beats are not a good idea as a background for speech. If you use music, at least put some real music, instrumental, not this cheap artificial electro computer nonsense. Otherwise, this channel is inspiring!

    Great job on the build and welcome to #vanlife. I have to ask, where did you hear that from about mold. We've owned RVs for years and never experienced that. The question is, why would your mattress be wet on the bottom. Holes in your wood is to make it lighter. It will not help with mold. Just FYI.

    • @MelissaandKyle
      @MelissaandKyle Місяць тому

      You must be lucky because we have seen dozens of posts of people who got mold at the bottom of their mattress. The holes are to allow the mattress to have room for condensation to escape on the bottom.

    Also, any electrical connection you should wrap with electrical tape, especially when you’re using those kind of connectors

    • @MelissaandKyle
      @MelissaandKyle 2 місяці тому

      Do you mean for the wago connectors? They do not need electrical tape

    You’re not supposed to use house installation on a car or a vehicle you need to remove all that and use foam otherwise you’re gonna be dealing with mold problems in the future

    • @MelissaandKyle
      @MelissaandKyle 2 місяці тому

      Havelock wool is made for use in vans. Wool is moisture wicking and hydrophobic so mold does not grow on it.

    You didn't show any sealant around the wire gland on the roof. From experience 8d put some around it and possibly underneath it too as theyre prone to leaking. Also, rubber grommet for the wires to pass through the hole in the roof to stop them rubbing the sharp edges and cutting

    • @MelissaandKyle
      @MelissaandKyle 2 місяці тому

      Thanks for the tip! We actually put both of those on, it just didn’t make the video, but if you look at when we’re screwing them down you can see butyl tape getting pushed out from underneath the gland. And a rubber grommet was used on the hole in the metal!
