Thanks for this. My HPD20 has been sitting alone for a long time simply because IMO the kits etc are not as good as they were on the HPD15 where you also had loops you could play along to. Rather than mess around with old school MIDI programming with that, it makes perfect sense to replace the kits. Even after filling the User slots 80pc of the rest I would be happy to replace. And I have XO, just never put 2 and 2 together lol. This is today's task!

10 minutes later and my MC6/RC600 is completely set up and ready to roll. UNREAL!!!! This has got to be the most helpful video I've seen on UA-cam on this topic, and trust me, I have been looking!! It helped me not only set up my gear, but, as a newcomer to midi-world, I learned so much! THANK YOU!

Thanks for sharing! I just went from the HPD-15 to the 20. The 3-band equalizer is very similar to my TD-17. So, I'm going to tweak the EQ and see if I can make the drum sounds come more alive. thanks! I just got the HPD20. Am I right that in order to save a kit you created, you also have to use that 'copy' function? Sounds weird, but for the life of me I could not find a 'save' option in the manual...I can't see the logic behind this :)

Thanks for sharing! You know of any way i can properly adjust the individual volume level of the chime sample? I own the 15 and 20 and have never been able to balance the volume level of the chime with the other instruments in a kit. I normally balance the volume levels of all the instruments in a kit, with enough headroom to be able to turn up the volume, depending on situation, or system i play through. No matter how i adjust the volume level of the chimes, they either play too low to be heard properly with the rest of the kit, or so high it distorts. Have played with a number of settings in both Handsonics with no luck. Am i missing something? Importing another sample fix this?? Anyone??

Can you try using the batch process of 24-bit to 16-bit WAV files in Foobar2000 and see if the HPD-20 will read the converted WAV files?

Thank you for a great video, everything is working except switch "E", memory down. It doesn't respond when I press it, most of the time, and sometimes goes up. I set up cc to 80 in Morningstar editor, and in SY-200 in MIDI under 5/7 80 is CTL1 cc, 81 is CTL2 cc and 82 is CTL3 cc. If you have any idea where to look for mistakes please let me know. Thank you

Im interested in assigning single bass notes to the small pads individually as well. I guess this could work that way too. Last question if i may.
