Seriously though I think it’s great to teach officers hand to hand combat and toughen them up so they don’t shoot a lady with a pot of boiling water in the head.

The top says no hand to hand for most officers and some get less than 20 hours a year . Sad brother . I do the video work on my breaks thank . Because of my title I can do this .

@@Sifujonrister That's something I ponder every day. I do definitely have faith that it's not totally lost . There are stil many people and parents that teach children truth, virtue, honor, and respect. The single biggest challenge is adults that lack all of the 4 principles. Those examples and influences , especially in this day are getting harder for children to feel and sense that it's wrong, especially further when they live in abusive environments .The biggest single difference they need ( in my opinion) is a sense of goodness, worthiness of ...being good /feeling .....good. Thus actually feeling some sense of goodness....that will eventually become a sense of truth through their own discernment of good and bad. Which when applied to .... rising above, can have astonishing results . The power of feeling good ...true positive thinking.....does beget....optimism. All of these combined create.......problem solving. Not to leave out some people that teach this to adults as well that are ready to learn it in the path of their lives. In the sense of teaching martial arts ....I think that every student can have that ....FIRE. It just depends on thier own ability to to let go and have a sensitivity for that ....FIRE. OUR....ace in the hole is ....that fire isnt necessarily 100% intrinsic....it can be taught. We have .... goodness to thank for that! 🔥⚡🤞✳️🙏🇺🇸

@@obs1888 actually it has much more than dealing with actual contact . There is preventing the contact , confronting the situation which may mean running or hiding (I’m not a fan of that as a blanket statement ) MMA usually doesn’t deal with firearms and or tools . You have to have other than combat skills and know when to actually act . I really appreciate your well thought out comment . We have a study under way right now in which we review cases of violence . Many are multiple attackers and often weapons are involved . Many people think of self defense as being able to “fight “ well think about this , who are you fighting , where are you fighting , when are you fighting , why are you fighting and with what . @@SifujonristerI get what you mean by self defense training, though my point still stands. Self defense is an objective, and MMA is a system of techniques to help you achieve a self defense scenario. Indeed, self defense training Includes realistic scenarios with mental notes on approaching irrational behaviors. You are in Filipino MMA which is still a mixed martial art which includes different sets of techniques for self defense. Your MMA is just a different form of self defense while using similar techniques

@@obs1888 it’s not bro I have taught FMA for 37 years and most of the stuff people teach is not ready to go . Most of it needs some tweaking for example most people will do things like two sticks against two , one stick vs one, one knife against one . Then empty hands is vs same . So now we have to adjust how it is seen and used . I have met people who were teaching who just don’t even know how to strike effectively . These are the people I’m talking about . Again thank you because your comments are good discussion and yes to a degree that is what one would think . However many people I know or know of , yeah not hitting it . Everyone has something to offer and good skill is a start .
