I love the fact that despite living on a small country on the other side of the Atlantic, I can relate in so many ways on what has been talked here. I have no idea how serious the issue is in America but I know that some of it has been brought with the industry to Portugal. Piercing has been a part of my healing journey during the last 12-ish years, and now I'm at a point where a lot of things have been "fixed" (not the best way to put it but hopefully the intention goes through) and I'm trying to get into it, and it really hurts my soul as a human being to notice that the trauma dump that you guys talked about is really present here. Nobody wants new apprentices, nobody wants to see people bringing things into the community, you notice most people will only help you if they get something out of it, it's all about money money money and trashing out people that are doing their best to be a part of this art form and become good professionals and trying to do Body Piercing as a way to bring a bit more love into this world and be a part of a universal healing process. It becomes hard to learn, to get good info, and you feel like you are basically on your own. That being said, thank you guys for this podcast, it's really conforting to know that this shift in counsciousness, not just as professionals but as human beings, it's happening all over, and it really warms my heart. Lynn, I've been following your work for a while and probably read all of your articles, and thank you for doing what you are doing. I've heard some of the biggest barbarities (not sure if it's a word in English) being said and practiced by "experienced piercers" where I live, and your share of knowledge as helped me to see what's not right about what the industry here is doing, and thank you for that, keep it up, I truly believe you are part of the change. Sorry for the rambling, not the best person in the world to express myself writing 😅 Much love to all of you✌✌

Immensely impressed with your candor and your articulation with your processing and sharing. I too, am almost 2 yr in. I am subscribe, duly based on the fact you so poignantly described the fear of release. This is pervasive in my thoughts as well. Unceasing battle on the daily at times, monkey brain rattles cage. I like how you give explanations to some of the reasons for the function of the addiction in the brain. I wish I were more educated on subject. Knowledge is power, so please share the wealth. I hope you make more vids concerning subject, as gentle reminders lead to solid victories. I am not in AA or any groups and have always had curiosity whether this is something that would hinder, hurt or help. I am an atheist. So found the 12 step program and big book difficult pill to swallow. If want to share any thoughts on your AA experience, and it's validity.. Don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you dear 7%. Feels good to have a fellow brother in this percentile but in my regard, there is always the how long will it last. Life should have been easier than this.

AA in ineffective. It promotes codependency and belief in magic. THERE IS NO DATA ABOUT SUCCESS TO BE REAPED FROM AN ANONYMOUS GROUP. THERE IS ONLY INGROUP ANECDOTAL STORIES. DONT BELIEVE THE CULT PROPAGANDA.

Yeh but is he just manipulating everyone again to milk attention. ? Ive followed him for yrs but , i dont trust him anymore, sadly. He went sober at 17. Hes in his 50s now. I feel that he got brainwashed by this constant A.A threat of relapse vibe , addict for life shit.....its nuanced i know . But i cant help but feel that the war on drugs lead to cases where ppl stay sober for 25yrs, they smoke some weed and everyone freaks out. Reduced to a childlike state. I think bobby acts like a big baby, but i also know his stories of childhood abuse. I guess im jaded, impatient at those who i feel maybe using 'im an addict' victimhood to get attention when they need it....im speaking from experience of heroin + meth + alcohol addiction. If bobby is for real, ive got his back. I dont know why i was so mistrusting of this latest 'Bobby Relapse' (2nd in 30yrs?!)

Thank you for this, well done. You did a great job of breaking this down in a way non-addicts can understand the root of the issue and the struggle we face.

What I suggest, to some degree for 'suffering' sobriety or addiction or being in the verge of relapse, Go to a distant place, stay there until your visa runs out, a friend of mine traveled to small villages in Turkey for 3 months, when he was relapsing, he literally cleaned his mind out, and it was way affordable than you would imagine. when he came back he was (so far) free from all attachments of his addiction. People need to change scenery for a while, really wake up to a different environment, find a local map and walk and hitchhike stay in small villages and visit ancient Roman ruins for few months to clear their minds. while I realize it may not work for everyone, I have a feeling it may do wonders for a lot of people out there. Just saying...

That's an interesting point you made about being "good at drinking," because I used to do the same thing. It was exciting to me, to get people to think I wasn't drunk, except I usually would get too cocky and start getting to the point of blacking out. I'm two years, going on 3 years sober. Wishing you the best!
