Respect and thank you
Wish I was able to serve, wish even more to have been able to shake his hand. Three Medal of Honor recommendations. Rest in peace sir. You are a model that All Americans should strive to achieve

Would’ve had 3 Medals of Honor. But 2 of them would’ve been from covert fighting in Cambodia during the Vietnam war, which wasn’t “supposed” to be happening. 8 Purple Hearts ….
This needs to be aired on live TV.
True warrior.
This was my grandpa! He sadly died in 2021. He was a great man. A hero! It's so nice to hear his voice again
What an absolute legend!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fortitude beyond imagined. [Lee Greenwood sings 'Proud to be an American ']

Wow. Just Wow.
Robert Howard has the character Joe Biden pretends to have.
We stand on the backs of GIANTS. R.I.P. Colonel Howard.
Col. Howard ........ LEGENDARY
Literally, a Legend among legends.
I would love to have a beer with this great man
All of our heroes are such humble warriors. I was decorated for heroic service; I feel I wasn't worthy. We love our country.
Marines and their relatives tell me the US Army is a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great man. He is the most decorated soldier in History ❤🙏
Col. Robert Howard was a man amongst men.
I love Col. Howard. He represents the true Honor, Respect and Bravery of all Vietnam veterans. It was the Vietnam veteran who trained me when I went to Basic training. Thank you for saving my life. US Army is the best.
To ALL who Now serve or have EVER SERVED in our Military or Police, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE. And THANK YOU for My FREEDOM. 🇺🇸😎
I was best friends with his son but unfortunately his son passed away in 2022
That’s genuinely one of the best if not the best speeches I’ve ever seen. The dude is the epitome of a badass
He had me at no disrespect to the politicians and media but you’ll need to tell the truth, half truths don’t cut it anymore,
One of the most decorated veterans in US history, I’m proud to know his history and to continue sharing his story. Robert “Bob” Howard is in my mind a part of the rare breed, may we all veteran and civilian mold ourselves in his image. I would stand and salute you any day sir, may god richly bless your family. I hope that as you stated before the Medal of Honor gave you some of the earned family respect you deserve (his father and all of his uncles were KIA in WWII).
David Gregory I was also at Kelley Barracks 1984 - 1986
).
He was Recommended for the medal THREE Times...And every man whom served with him said he deserved EVERY ONE....
THERE WAS AMAN!! PERIOD!!
Cpt Robert L. Howard was my company commander in 1975-76, at Ft. Lewis, WA. I was the Anti-Tank Section Leader, "A" Company, 2nd Bn, 75th Infantry, (RANGER). This man was more than just a soldier. He was a matchless leader who motivated every soldier in our battalion. Just by talking to him, he made you determined to be the very best you could be. He lead by example. His words were prophetic. No other human being has EVER impacted my life like this heroic man. I consider it a great honor to have known him, and served under his guidance. Rest in peace sir. Your tour of duty is up. Standing at attention and saluting you sir. Rest in God's arms. Staff Sergeant Russ Reed RANGERS LEAD THE WAY, OOOOOAH SIR
Very good to see this kind of thing. We need true patriotism in our country. As a young man I knew a little about Communism and idolized my brother who was in the Navy and loved the pictures in a book of our World War II planes in action. However I wasn't too keen about our involvement in Vietnam. When I was drafted, I was ambivalent and even refused to raise my hand to swear the oath. Rather than go to jail, I changed my mind and went for basic training. Luckily my unit needed a clerk and I knew how to type, spell, and read. I spent thirteen months in the 'Nam and came back to a civilian job. Now I am thankful for the training I had and my experiences because now I can see what it is to want to fight for your country and our country needs that now more than ever. We have a fight to the death now because the Communists are inside our own government. So thank you, Colonel, for your service and bravery. Curahee!
The Vietnamese is great chefs and brew awesome alcomoholic beverages
His C I B is practically sitting on top of his unit crest.
My friend was one of the last one's off the roof in Saigon, 1975. We served together in Hawaii, Viet Nam, Ft Campbell. He lost his wife and son during the evacuation at Tan Son Knut evacuating orphans. He is my age but now suffers from dementia. We stayed in contact for over 53 years.
I worked with him in 1975, at Gen . HQ, G1, Fort Lewis Washington, he was waiting for his orders going to attend the University, he was using cane because of his battle wounds, he was very humble, didnt talk much, very kind, I didnt know him, much I found out when he was leaving, when I type his another award I found out he was a Medal of Honor recipients
