Quick Video on how to remove the instrument cluster without having to remove the steering wheel as these can be a pain to remove sometimes. You may have to remove the steering wheel in some cases but the process is similar. The parts were taken from a donor car to replace my broken instrument cluster. More videos coming soon! How do you bleed the system when u add coolant?
hola me puedes desir por que se me ensiende la lus que trae yn autoy tiene unax
Just about to start mine...wish me luck .....
Hey, I'm also charging mine too. My question is, how did you loosen the bolts from the pulley/Wheel without making the whole belt spin. Tryed the otherday but with the wrong tools, but they were screwed on pretty hard. Any tips would help. Thanks!
Thanks for the video, seems really clear! Do you have any tips for then the coolant doesn't want to drain from the petcock? There is enough in the system and I have opened the reservoir but it just doesn't want to come out.
The drain pipe could be blocked. The petcock will come right out leaving a bigger hole. It has a couple of little 'sprags' on it holding it in, just make sure it's fully unscrewed and then pull. Watch the little O rings when you put it back in.
My thermostat is brand new and I still got the error P0597?
Me too, I had a reputable garage fit a new T Stat (as seen here) so I feel sure it's not that, must be a sensor, probably just corrosion on the connector. My P0597 has - "Coolant Thermostat Valve Circuit Open (04) - Present"
Just genial and easy! Thanks from México.

Brilliant video! Clear, concise and accurate and a great pity others don't follow your example. Thanks!
Is it ever an o2 sensor on heater system or just plain old Thermo and housing. Thanks

We look forward much more videos. I Appreciate your kind efforts. Thank You.
thanks
This error is not caused by the thermostat itself. It is one of the two temp sensors that fails.
2 temp sensors - where are they? There is something electrical about 5cm away mounted on the top of the black plastic housing that T stat mounts, where is the other? I can only find one (a sensor of some sort) on the lowest corner of the rad. It is quite exposed to road dirt.
That engine needs a new set of camshaft pulleys fitting to it. And a new timing belt. That rattle is coming from that. I noticed it at the end when your engine was running. ua-cam.com/video/gIEBDfn4TBg/v-deo.html
Nothing wrong with his, sounds normal
My 2013, 1.7d Ecoflex, takes ages to get up to operating temperature, so I'm thinking my thermostat maybe stuck open. But, wouldn't that trigger an EML? I have no faults coming up on the dash. Also, my DPF is constantly being forced into a regeneration. Would low coolant temperatures prevent the engine from getting warm enough to keep the DPF clean naturally?
I have a code come up for this when doing pedal test but no engine management light is on? Does mine still need doing?
Did you find an answer to this bro I have the same.

hello Aaron you seem to know a bit about waterpumps and astras haha, i have had very bad luck this weekend, i have a astra 1.4 very similar engine and setup to yours, the car was on motorway and just randomly when driving it just fully died on me with no warnings, no overheating message or anything and smoke starting pouring out the bonnet and black smoke came out the exhaust a lot of it, i got to hard shoulder and opened bonnet and smoke was coming from everywhere the intake, the engine, just about everywhere, i check the coolant tank and it was completely bone dry empty even though i regularly check everything and it had almost a full tank , and after getting towed and leaving on my road, i come back to car day after and the car cranks but wont start, i also filled in some water where the coolant goes to see where all the coolant went and it was slow dripping from middle bottom of the engine, the engine oil wasn't milky looks fine, the water i think was coming out the waterpump pipe my question is, is my engine been destroyed or could it just be i need to replace water pump and it will fix the engine, is there any test i can do to see the condition of the engine, what im thinking is maybe from overheating the car engine might have broken but i don't know how to check this without the help of a mechanic
It's best to do a compression test first as this will tell you the condition of the engine, you can get these on eBay pretty cheap and then go from there. This video shows how to do one on an Astra ua-cam.com/video/JtJRK8m_XDw/v-deo.html
@@aaronhenderson836 thank you boss apprieciate it
@@MrWaheedulHaque what are you doing on a motorway with a 1.4L astra on the motorway in the first place! It sounds like you have overheated your engine as there was no water or coolant in the engine and therefore the internals have most likely damaged as a result. Sorry to hear this.
Thanks. I'll be replacing mine this weekend.
Hi, very helpful video. Can you recommend any particular/brand of water pump for this job.
Go for Airtex water pump 👍
