How to install 1.0 Injora Beadlock Brass Wheels and Tires
Get the tricks I used to install the tires on the Injora Brass Beadlock Wheels. It was difficult until I figured out what to do. I also included running the rig on the latest track that I recently finished.

    Bro that lube made all the difference in the world. I put it on horizontal flat of the inner piece outer pieces and the rim on both sides of the middle piece. And horizontal of bead on tire .. not alot. I just put a little on Qtip and it went together like magic , no pushing the inner and outer rim pieces to get it to start screwing together, it just fell in place pretty much . Just a little kpl "knife pivot lube"

    Oh heck yea!! Awesome brass wheels. Looks so good with that silver finish and has that awesome negative offset. One thing I like to do with the wheels is along that inner ring, add some sticky lead weights and make em even heavier. Got a set on the glad with the tire up to 86grams per wheel. Lowest widest place to put the weight. :) If you found these difficult to mount, DO NOT buy tires from BoomRacing, theeeee worst tires to mount unless you buy their wheel. They arent 1.0's but a bit smaller so they dont like going on 1.0 wheels. They dont tell u this either, sucks to waste money on a tire that is nearly impossible to mount up without ripping it. One tire u might like are the 64mm SwampKings from LGRPs, unreal awesome, so sticky and look amazing, super aggressive :) Also good run, seemed to handle that place like it nothing with that extra weight.

    Love what you're doing with this scale scenery build, I haven't seen many others that took an indoor rock crawling layout to this level. The chipping brush trick is brilliant! It really looks the part, but hot glue on top of your finished scenery base has the potential to end up ruined with a few hits from your rig since the only thing holding it in place is a small patch of glue. Taking a tip from model railroading, use superglue to put a finish nail, pin, or even a thin wooden dowel on the bottom of your cut down chipping brush. Wait for it to fully cure and then use wood glue or even Elmer's glue, and push it through your scenery base. If you use a wooden dowel, be sure to drill a small hole for a tight fit so you don't destroy the scenery around the "bush" when pushing it through your scenery base. This will give your "bush" a nice root that will make it much more durable. Cheers!

    • @rcredrockUT
      @rcredrockUT 8 місяців тому

      Yea. I hear you. The hill climb on the inner side is one. The pole bridge is another especially going around the turn. And for the most part you can’t just blow through the track. I didn’t get some video but will when I get back into town but the turns are off camber and perhaps a bit more challenging than you think. I had some friends over and the guy didn’t think you could climb the hill, I was able to show him that you could. Happy to make some changes to it though, what would you change in the flat areas?

    • @VetteWay2Fast
      @VetteWay2Fast 8 місяців тому

      @@rcredrockUT I prefer fairly challenging obstacles that sometimes require backing up and rethinking the line, kind of formulating a plan if you know what I mean. For this course, could have a few 1 to 2 inch stair type rocks and more elevation changes aside from the ramps. A really nice video with some good ideas is... "AC:RC My backyard micro crawler course". To each their own though, if you have fun with it, that's all that matters. Just from my experience, I went to easy on my first build and got bored and redid it. I would think if a 10' section of course can be done in under a few minutes, it may be a little to easy and not have the replay value.

      @@rcredrockUT So with these lil lipo batteries, dont leave em plugged in and use the power button to turn it off as it will drain the battery lower then it should go and it wont charge up anymore. I use mine like if its plugged in its ready to rock, if it sits for a bit I unplug it. Also just letting it sit uses a lot more power then ud think, like if you are testing the lines on the track and have to adjust something, unplug it, its gonig to drain it down past that 3volts or w/e the chargers need to see it deem it worthy of charging. :) Ive gone thru about 6 batteries this way, just forget that Ive left em in there and boom, another 25bucks gone to the wind.

    I’m north of you in SLC so I understand your snow and cold comments. yes, I’d consider going to places that have decent crawler courses and pay a nominal amount for some playtime. However, I’ve inspired me to create my own realistic red rock course. When I was in Moab last month, I got a bunch of raw materials for it. Currently, I’m experimenting with different techniques and materials from trash, card board, foam, bottles, you name it. I loved the idea of plaster of Paris with sand for gritty texture then just painting it. It’ll be way faster than Mod Podge, sand sprinkling, repeat, repeat…. It looks great and works great for my Lion’s Back hill climb replica, but I am hoping my next project using your technique will save me a ton of time! Great vids. Then drape em over some crumpled up baking sheets on a wooden frame, even pallets or something and make a sweet next level carpet mountain. That way its amazingly strong, maybe even use the carpet mountain as a mold or w/e. Put down some thin plastic and drape it over and let it dry in decent sized sections so anyone can have the same track as me :)

      Something like that is coming after paint. Check out the other finished track build.

      @@rcredrockUT Oh I have, its a deadly track!! I think having the stone mixed in before hand would add depth and make it more rock like, more so in valleys and for climbing certain areas. Might even make it more aesthetic. I think the crushed granite would be the kewlest looking : P

      @@rcredrockUT Like chicken grit style, nice and small stuff. Its around the size of pepper corns. Get it a nearly any farm supply store.

    Fun series of videos and a very unique course you've built! Sorry if I missed it, but what's the total size of the build? Is it based on a full 4'x8' sheet of OSB?

    • @rcredrockUT
      @rcredrockUT 10 місяців тому

      Exactly. 4’x8’ osb with some overhang. At one end that part that goes up and a few inches on the front from the styrofoam. I am currently building another one on a smaller footprint. Should have a new video out on Sunday.

    Nice crawling. I got a front axle and a servo inverter and modded my scx24 deadbolt to 4WS. The inverter means the rear wheels always steer opposite the front, but meant I kept the stock receiver/ESC. Really nice on my first tiny track, created with expanding foam, at only 2x3 feet approx.

    Try cheesecloth and drywall mud (the powdered type)

    • @rcredrockUT
      @rcredrockUT Рік тому

      Sounds like a good idea. Some projects I’ve done with drywall mud has cracked. But I’ve not tried the powdered type. I’ll try it next track. Thanks for the suggestion.

      @rcredrockUT the hot mud is much better and you can get 5 to 90 minute work times. I like to mix in concrete dye so chips don't show.

      @@joshheitzenroder365 I definitely need to try that. Finishing up with a new method for underside but it was time consuming and a lot of work.
