Your Ante really should protect you Pairs Plus and 6 card bets. So it needs to be at least double your outside bets. $5 on PP and 6 card- then at least $10 on the ante. Then you will push more instead of listing $5 every time the dealer doesn’t qualify.

Wizard of Odds has a good point and I've been using his site to learn how to play many of the pit games I don't know how to play. I've always seen side bets as discretionary and your bankroll should be adjusted to account for it. It's why if I don't play the side bets in--say--$5 Three Card Poker--I'll buy on for only $200 (Ante and Play) whereas if I am, I'll buy in for $400 (Ante, Play, Pair Plus, 6 Card Bonus).

+$15 is alot better than -$300! Much thanks for the Reverse Let It Ride action! 😁

Why do you check a pair? I thought only check 2s. And then you check an Ace? Why bother playing. It worked out for you anyway since the dealer screwed your surprise surprise.
