This video is so helpful for a new teacher like me! You have given me a lot of great ideas to set up my classroom. Thank you! I hope you post more videos!
What does number 6 say on your chart? The tubs were blocking the last 2 lines
Wow
I've wondered what my child's classroom might look like. I hope like this. Great job, Misty.
This is great! There are not enough videos for sub separate classrooms. This year will be my first year teaching and I will have a sub-separate k-2 classroom in Boston. I am excited but definitely nervous! Thank you for your videos, very helpful! (:
Brittany good same here! K-2 Autistic support first year teacher!
Brittany good - Hi Brittany! Thank you. I will be posting more videos in about 3 weeks. I have moved to a new school and will be setting my classroom. I wish you luck this year!

This is a really good video. I really love the 1:1 station and limited distraction. I like how you have maximize every space.
I was in special ed when I was in school for only like 25% of my day but it helped as lot cause if it was not for special ed classes I would of never graduated in the top 20 of my whole class so thank you for being special ed teacher
Kiddly3000 being in special Ed means that you look at things in a unique way, and you had the teachers to help you find success. Bravo to you and you're teachers
I really enjoyed your video!
Do you have students only come in for certain classes
Gabby Say - no I have the same students most of the day. My class size is limited to 15 students and I have 2 aides. My students only go out for speciality classes( PE, Music, Art, Library, etc with general education students their age). The rest of their time, is spent in my class.
Love this! This gave me an idea for a center. Thanks and keep the vids coming!
I love your area to work one on one with a student. Great way to work on skills and collect data with the data binders near by.
Thank you so much, Misty! It was very helpful for me to see what other special ed teachers might be doing with lower grades since I was working with middle schoolers previously. Wow, you are a resourceful! Your school system and your kids are lucky to have someone like you. Have a wonderful year.
Thank you so much- I hope you have a good year as well!
Thank you for your kind words!
what population of students do you have? I also have a self contained k-2 classroom, and I want to apply some of these aspects to my classroom but I am not sure if it would be suited for BD and LD students.
I mostly have students with autism - one with ID, 2 with severe speech and language impairment.
I love your classroom. Can you please give me an idea of what you allow your para to do in the classroom and her schedule I am at a lost right now. She likes to read and does not like to take an initiatives in anything. She will sit there if I do not plan her day out for her. I need help please . Also do you designate a particular time or day when you play educational or hands on board games with your students .
