How can we set up an appointment with you!
For everyone saying that the fact he brought god into it put them off is ridiculous. He clearly trying to say that counselling is providing support for everyday problems whereas as a therapist you are trying to support clients by fostering growth and development by going into the depths of themselves and supporting them with finding their power and strength to use it to manage their difficulties. Like take out the God bit and read the context of what he's trying to say. Also it makes me think if you have clients who have this same reglious stance how are you going to work with them if your ready to saying I can't listen to this guys because he got God into the picture
Wow! Thank you, Sir
0:44 Counseling 1:10 Therapy
I respectfully disagree, we could just read the Bible in our language and it's the same love letter with the same meaning. Religion says we have to learn the original language, yet many scholars who were more proficient than any of us translated the Bible into our language. God created man, therefore God is the God of all language. I will stick with English and use a Strongs Concordance when I want to know a Greek or Hebrew literal meaning. I can learn so much more from studying the Bible which will produce a transformation in my life,. Think about how much more value you could be to yourself and others if you put as much time into the word of God and not the languages used to communicate that word. There is no 11th commandment thou shall be proficient in Greek and Hebrew to show your self approved. Christianity is about studying the life and teachings of Jesus, not what language He spoke and what the Bible was written in. Religion will be religious, I challenge everyone who takes Greek and Hebews to feel educated or well-studied to master the languages if they are vital for you to learn. You also need to add Aramaic to make sure you become a master translator. If you want to study it because you enjoy it, then great, but a lot of academics try to act like it's imperative to study these languages or your degree program is lacking..... Maybe they have become so religious and linguist masters that they missed the simplicity of the gospel, Furthermore, I'm willing to go out on a limb and say the professors of the languages miss the Great Commission of Jesus and don't win souls or win many souls, I will also say they haven't won ONE soul using Greek or Hebrew! This is religion vs relationship and the perfect picture to put the proper perspective of God vs man's thoughts and mind in place. An M.Div is about studying religion (Not being religious like the Sadducees and Pharisees) and theology. What is theology, a good definition is the study of the sayings and reasoning of God. know this will cause a lot of people who studied these languages to manifest, as they will hate hearing this, but that proves my point even more. Check your hearts if you think studying Greek and Hebrew is a must, then check God's. I'm not trying to come across as rude or disrespectful but I know my writing can be taken that way as I speak direct.
New on there's
And I am going to therapy as well
Wonderful explanation
An MDiv degree today (online, including books) in going to run you about $40k. On campus, much more.
Once churches begin requiring their leaders to have a degree to serve. You know that their church is a business and lost its original intention. It’s unfortunate because the message they unknowingly spread is, “if you don’t have a degree you can’t teach Bible, you can’t know Bible. So let me tell you what to think because I have this paper and you don’t”
Thank you. I realize from this video that I'm not interested with working with people at the level of therapy. I think I'm more interested in being a counsellor.
A degree not worth the paper it's printed on. We're in the 21st century now. Feel free to join us at any time.
Love your explanation. Also want to add that the Mdiv is primarily for w2 employee pastoral work. Dont need it for entrepreneurial pastoral work. However, the subjects of the mdiv program should still be studied at least at the personal study non schooling level.
Good to see you again!
I see that the MDiv is now 72 credits. Is there any particular reason 6 credits have been removed?
Amazingly clarifying. Thank you!
PRAISE THE LORD HALLELUJAH!! JESUS WON!
You chatting about the kairos project with Sioux Falls?
How can you find out if a school is credited?
If you take a masters of arts in ministry as an example, can those credits transfer over to the master of divinity ?
#7 can help prevent suicides.
Therapy should not have religion attached to it.
God is not a religion.
Hello Sir...In Bachelor of divinity how much percentage is required to join in Master of Divinity
In Bachelor of divinity how much percentage is required to join in Master of Divinity in USA
Having pastored across denominational lines and having an ecumenical ministry of sorts, I can say this with all honesty. If and when you go into a denomination, Avoid being put in a box by Any Denomination. Be accountable first to God and He will direct your path. Learn to be abased and learn to abound. Be comfortable and confident in your own walk with God if you have a pulpit or if you don’t, in ministry or not. You are first and foremost a minister before God. Truth will lead you beyond your Denomination’s theological stance and that’s OK. Don’t substitute your own walk with God for being a Company man. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Denominations can provide a lot of support but they can also take a lot, if not all, the personal experiences with God and replace it with a neatly wrapped box with a bow on it devoid of any spirituality. Polity is not the same as “Thus sayeth the Lord.” So be flexible. For the 11th commandment could have been, blessed are the flexible for they shall not be broken. Study sermons from other denominations than your own. You will become a better preacher for it.
Stop listening when he mentioned God 😂
Counselor - Firefighter vs Therapist - Fire Investigator.
I learned that Counselling is about helping people with usual life difficulties and therapy is about treating people with mental illnesses.
Need more counseling sites
"Counselor" was used in reference to Jesus. The distinction between counselor and therapist was not quite clear for me. Systemic in stead of individualistic care is also practiced by secular counselors and therapists. I do think that most professionals now practice care for the individual as part of the whole. I am a professional counselor and what was explained as the role of a therapist, is what I do. As Christians, it is not our wisdom but rather God's wisdom and when God steps into a situation everything changes. We are merely the agents of change. This is how I would distinguish between Christian and secular mental health care.
You almost literally say a whole lot of nothing, crappy video explaining the difference between the two
I want to pursue Phd should I go for M.div or Master of Arts in theology and biblical studies? Please help me
Master of Arts in Theology and Biblical Studies will be more appropriate. M.div is more practical. this is for those who would like to pastor churches.
Sir is MA in psychology bter r is msc in counseling and family therapy better
This is so beautiful information.
No offense but if we all believed in God we wouldn't need therapy
What makes you say that?
Not true.

A "Master of Divinity" graduate just got stabbed multiple times and burned because she was a Master of Divinity, the kind that focuses on Divinity but close minded about Evil Craftsmanship existence.
,,,,👁,,,. . . Unless you have established harmonious relation of everyday life with issues like Jesus turning water to wine , Turning the other chick, "Giving off" your second coat, and Logos, ,,,, never mind, don't even open your mouth at attempting to (preach) anyone anywhere ever.
Hello I’m Dr. Adam Everett from Scroggins Texas.

Is an MDiv degree at Liberty University a good choice?
This is so awesome! You bring out the very reason of helping others. Spiritual connection is a must! This is so beautiful
Thank you so much. This is what I want to learn to help those in challenges to get connection of biblical values
Unfortunately biblical values has brought a lot of pain for many. I just say it because it's a moral obligation. Just the Judeo-Christian guilt has done a lot of damage.
This was no help whatsoever. Instead of explaining the various differences between the two, he just dismissed counseling as a whole and then turned the video into a religious lecture. I recognize that he's in the Christian therapy field but if you're gonna explain the differences from a Christian perspective, say so in the title. Us non Christians would like to be educated on secular subjects from a secular angle.
Dude this channel is called “evangelical seminary” what did you expect?
That is exactly what I'm listening he did not explain counseling I would assume he is a therapist
This was a good academic explanation. On my channel I explained the many types of mental health providers in a Canadian context. This is a great video 👍🏽
Im confused, divinity is witchcraft. So why is it used inthis context in colleges?
Presbyterian pastor? Yes!
The church must take off her dirty hands from the people. In italy we are still legally bound to them in some way. We all hate it and you should realize why. The Church does not care for the wellbeing of the people, but for dogmatism instead. No place for dogmas in the therapeautic relation. Edit: Jeshua brought the sword to free the people and fight oppression, why all these people chose to ignore this aspect of their lord? By introducing god this way in therapy you only cage your client. Source: i'm a university student of psychology and this makes me want to gouge my eyes out.
I got accepted into Dallas Theological Seminary for a Master's in Theology. However, I cannot afford it even with the scholarships/grants. Thanks for the video! This was something I was concerned about when looking for an alternative.
Good info! Thanks!
Thank you so much for sharing this information.
Malachy your life is a testimony of God's love in action and our journey of transformation. Thank you for being such a good and faithful servant.
