Then Gabe has his own solo stuff which has a bit more 80s maximalism to it which is cool. I've heard rumblings FF MIGHT be making a new record soon too as well! Never seen them live either so hopefully catch them on tour one day!!!

    I thought she said it was kind of like a joke song that her and the band would listen to before going on stage when the audience would be quietly waiting for them to come on stage. It was like an in joke for the band then they ended up recording it.

      Aw thanks so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! On the free challenge, maybe the bit about arrangement is a bit more Ableton specific, but the parts on mixing and mastering would work on any DAW! :) It's free so feel free to sign up here and I am also at the end of the emails to clarify anything too. I mainly use Ableton, but I also use logic on a daily basis at the college I work at so can definitely answer most questions on logic too :) happy to help and thanks for watching and liking the video!!! www.tonicnoteaudio.co.uk/try-it-for-free

      Ah yeah well this approach might not work for everyone I guess but I'm sure you've found or will find a way that works best for you! Try lots of different techniques is my main advice - and a lot of people I've researched seem to use a variety of approaches over the years of their music career :)

    • @whiskyandsynths
      @whiskyandsynths 3 місяці тому

      Well yeah it might not have been the exact first synth James used, but They use a huge array of gear, and to this day have a microkorg on stage. I literally saw it on stage at all points east a few weeks ago. They also got a custom built unit for Nacy that incorporates 4 microkorgs plus other stuff into one mega synth. You should look it up. Microkorgs and LCD are like this 🤞

Thrill K!ll Kult and many more. I currently am working on improving my sound quality as that was an area where I sadly was lacking. You mentioned a lack of budget. Allow me to reccomend a page called Play PM. He always has great tips for recording programs. Thank you for the video

    You hear this a lot on The Campfire Headphase, tracks like 84 Pontiac dream and Oscar see through Red Eye have these one shot samples that almost sound like old children’s show tunes. Another interesting production technique I have learned just by listening to them is that a lot of the time their drums are heavily layered. Julie and Candy is a great example of this. It has lots of elements that disappear and reappear and accent certain hits of the main drum groove. I also notice that between the main hits there are lots of off beat percussion sounds like on Peacock Tail and Slow this Bird down. A lot of the time their tracks do just rely on loops than hammer themselves into your brain but because they are so layered and change slightly every time it never really gets boring. Most of their songs are in 4/4 but kind of have a different sound than what you might think of with 4/4 because they use odd length loops. Like on In a Beautiful Place out in the Country where the loop is 5 bars long. Overall I think there music is all about bringing very simple elements together and to make complex music and breaking norms and what’s “correct” to make unique music.

    • @whiskyandsynths
      @whiskyandsynths 9 місяців тому

      Hi! I don't think the pss 390 can have samples loaded into it. There are no inputs on the keyboard - no midi, usb or audio inputs. As far as I am aware all of the sounds are synthesized in it apart from maybe the drums. You might need to look at other options for this!
