    Greetings from Mexico. May God bless you for this teaching. I am currently an elder in training. Thanks to this video my personal curriculum. Unfortunately there is no mentor is willing to invest in the next generation as mentioned in the last video. Already downloaded a few of the resources mentioned.

    Protestants love the titles, reverend and of course the most well known ‘pastor’. The world loves titles too, You’l see these lovers at work . Maybe it’s good to have boards and committees at work, believers and unbelieving alike are quite lawless. It’s ridiculous to hear of ‘board’ elders, or committees among believers. When I address believers who are used to being addressed as rabbi, reverend, pastor, bishop and a few others, they try to hide the shock ‘addressest thou the high priest thus?’ If we judged ourselves, we would not be judged. The best and brightest among the throngs of professors are ‘worms and not men’. Your ‘pastor’ has all the same proclivities as you towards sin.

    The strict view of divorce BEFORE you became a new man is not biblical, it is self righteous and be a Pharisee. According to scripture, which you follow if you are a real Christian, GOD forgives ALL sin when you come to Him as a new man, the old man dies and the new man is born. GOD forgives your sins, casting them as far as the east is from the west. So mr. Pharisee, ask yourself, do you follow The Gospel, do you follow GOD or do you put yourself before GOD by not forgiving a past sin which GOD has forgiven? Simply, do you obey GOD?

    It’s important to remark that Paul’s mindset was quite a jewish one. So as the elder is set as a model for the church Lev 21:7 would be the reference in this matter.

    There’s no biblical grounds for divorce if we consider the standard the Lord Jesus just stablished. The only possibility would be Pornea. By pornea we know that only a non married couple would fit that relationship. So for married people the only possibility is the unconditional love practicing the forgive onto one another. Remarriage, being the other spouse alive is adultery (Moichea)

    3:90 I had a preaching professor years ago say some things that have stuck in my mind. He said that you should be deep in study Monday morning for what you will preach the next Sunday. He also said that many preachers say they don't know what to preach about until Friday or Saturday. He said if you don't know what to preach about just randomly open your Bible on Monday morning and place your finger on a text. Study that passage and preach it. It is the word of God and it will speak to God's people. Always thought those words were such simple brilliance. What I have found over the years is that if you simply pick a book of the bible and preach through it verse by verse, you will never be in want for what to preach. Just preach God's word true to the text and it will speak to God's people.

    What a blessing to hear the truth about church leadership ,always thought the one pastor leadership,didn't seem good for the church ,because one man made all decisions and didn't listen to the members, concerning many subjects even when they were biblical .such as discipline, and other issues. It was I'm the pastor if you don't like it you can leave. Thank you for bringing this truth to my heart,I'm going to try to bring this to his attention. This is all the members know we're we come from all congregations are one man led

    I agree that young men should be challenged to grow in faith and doctrine. But it takes many years of walking with Christ before a man is genuinely qualified for eldership. It's not simply a matter of biblical knowledge but also the ability to live a disciplined life.

    This is an excellent video. I agree with you how people can't always blame parents for not managing their household well when they have rebellious kids. Some people think that when the Bible says that pastors need to manage their household well, it means that people with rebellious kids aren't fit to be pastors, but that's not what the verse is saying. Managing your household well means being a good parent, leading the household well, handling discipline issues appropriately, etc. If a pastor has rebellious kids, it's not their fault unless the pastor isn't handling the rebellious behavior in appropriate ways.

    Where can I find the first 2 parts of this teaching???

  • @mchristr
    @mchristr 2 роки тому

    I've purposely stayed away from the issue of church polity because it didn't directly touch my life. I've thus far convinced myself that I'm not called to the pastorate but may be called to be an elder. But if they're synonomous terms, I can't any longer neglect the issue. With fear and trepidation I'll be approaching the men in leadership to ask them about these essential passages.

    This is an excellent video. I agree with what you say in this video. I definitely agree how it's great to have reasonable safeguards to prevent adultery from happening. A lot of times when people have affairs, they say things like "I didn't mean for this affair to happen; it just happened". Many people that have affairs don't intentionally plan to have affairs. Having reasonable safeguards to prevent adultery from occurring definitely helps prevent affairs from happening. I do agree with you how it's best that when a married woman is having marriage problems and wants to talk to a male friend about her marriage problems that it's best if the male friend's wife is with them or some other trusted person is with them while they're talking about the marriage problems because when a person is having marriage problems, that's when they're most vulnerable, extremely likely, etc to have an affair. When a married woman is talking to a male friend about her marriage problems and the male friend helps her out, it can easily lead to an unhealthy emotional attachment, it can easily lead to the married woman feeling like she's falling in love with another man, etc, which can easily lead to an affair taking place even when they didn't plan on having an affair. There's nothing wrong with a married person having opposite sex friends, but married people should definitely avoid friendships with opposite sex people that are too close because when a married person has an opposite sex friend where the two of them are "too close", it can easily lead to an unhealthy emotional attachment, which can result in an affair even when they never intentionally planned on having an affair. When a married man and a female friend are going out to lunch together just the two of them several times a week, talking on the phone together several times a day, getting too close in regards to their friendship, etc, it can easily lead to an affair taking place even when they didn't intentionally plan on having an affair. Keep up the great work with your videos. I wish you the best.
