The sectioning clip in the mouth is a bit gross, but the sectioning and cutting techniques are superb. Exactly how I learned to cut a bob.

The shears are too short and there's at best minimal comb through of the sections prior to making the cut, which is poorly done in itself as the hand moves along the section. Also, the thumb is what operates the shears. Hear the cutter's fingers and thumb pinch. If you were to cross check this cut you'd spend 10 minutes removing the points.

Sorry but this isn't even basic Sassoon precision.

This is by far the best bob cutting video I have seen. It was easy to follow and do my own hair at home using mirrors. I don't cut bangs anymore though. lol I get a lot of compliments from this style too. Thanks for posting 🌻

ABC cutting method arrived in 2005. This is not from the 1980s or 1990s. Tim Hartleys last year or so at Sassoon!

From more recent interviews, Tim has professed that he doesn't believe in the ABC method of cutting hair! In an interview, he did with Antony Whitaker's podcast. Bothered me since he headed Sassoon in creating this method of cutting hair based on the history of Sassoon... I suppose we all evolve and grow and change our minds? Just wish He was a bit more kind towards a method that has helped many hairdressers improve their cutting skill set! It certainly inspired me! Hairdressers, both large and small, have to learn to let go of their snobbery!

I studied at Paul Mitchell. We also use precision cutting techniques. Paul Mitchell’s cutting system was based on Vidal Sassoon. I would’ve attended Sassoon academy if there was one in Colorado where I lived, but there wasn’t. So I decided to go to Paul Mitchell and I loved every minute of it. Now I live in New York and work at a salon Manhattan. On a side note, long before I became a hairstylist worked for Vidal Sassoon in L.A. in the 90’s. I met Vidal a couple of times. He was very friendly and down to earth. I was impressed by the level of pride the people working for him had. They all loved and respected him. He was the greatest

I loved Vidal Sassoon’s hair styles from his earliest days. They were so precise and seemed very chic and hip. I always thought his haircuts looked their best on brunettes..like Liza Minnelli…

The cutting takes much quicker these days, Did this on my Mother, took 3 hours. No2 blend on neck to occibital
