Yes, there are options to buy parts in greater quantity and at lower prices: bricklink.com, for example, is a website that brings together buyers and sellers of Lego, new and used parts. Other options are the so-called Brick Walls that are available at official Lego stores. Basically you can fill cups with parts available in stock, but in this case you have to be lucky to find the parts you need. And another option would be to buy directly from Lego, on the official Lego website, on the Pick a Brick service. Basically you can choose different pieces by type, color and quantity, but unfortunately this service is not available in all countries, for example in Brazil, where I live, it is not possible to buy directly from Lego, but in the USA it is possible.
