Here's to our second annual Campsgiving! We came here to enjoy the great outdoors & eat some good food. Allan got to test out his new chainsaw and it made collecting firewood a whole lot easier. We were attempting to get away form the summertime heat, so we decided to make a last-minute trip to Big Sur in hopes for cooler weather. We have been wanting to camp out in the snow ever since we got our trucks last year. This trip to San Bernardino National Forest was one for the books. We found a great campsite, had awesome food, and were able to stay warm all night! And of course, the Tacoma is always getting stuck in the snow, so guess who had to rescue it? We spent Thanksgiving at Mount Pinos Campground and had fun making a holiday meal. We were one of the only ones here, so it was great to have the scenery all to ourselves. This location has been on our radar since the time we got our trucks. The trail was rated as difficult because of all the displaced rocks and boulders we had to maneuver through. It took us nearly 2 hours to drive 12 miles and Tacoma did an awesome job getting us there! What was supposed to be a half day trip ended up taking until night fall to get home. We took the 4Runner and Tacoma. It was our first time taking our trucks into snowy terrain, let alone during a snow storm!
