A space for my tunes, this channel was made to be able to document the tunes and riffs I make, jam sessions I have, as well as some covers. So far it is pretty much just like a blog of my guitar learning journey and a way I can share my tunes to family and friends, but I might broaden it to more music production or making songs on other instruments in the future. I often use the description section of my videos to explain backstory, hindsight, and technical information of the tune as well as link to other related videos for the tune, such as tutorial videos, variations, or back to the original recording from those branches.
(Demo) Tune no. 129 - Chill Chords | December 25, 2024
In DADF#BE tuning, capo 2. This one has a lot of potential. I kept it short because my phone was so low on storage. Something I started doing off-tape for the 5th fret bar is adding my pinky over the two strings (B and E) instead of just E when I add my pinky to the 7th fret, and I feel like that sounds the best for the upstrokes. I also realized this tune sounds kinda like Elliott Smith's "Clementine", and the tuning is pretty similar as well in terms of intervals. Beautiful :)

Tune no. 128 - Fun Riffs in DADF#BD | December 25, 2024

Phone ran out of storage at the end, but I captured everything I needed. This tune is so fun! Still think the transition back from the bridge is pretty rusty, but maybe I can just chill on the A chord doing some ragtime alternating basslines and then start reintroducing the intro hammer-on notes until it gets back to how it starts. But yeah that bridge part is so beautiful! Especially the part ...

Banjo fingerpicking chord progression in sawmill tuning gDGCD. Loops between a few chords and stays in mostly the same key I think, so it is easy to hum melodies over it. Tab below: Chords g D G C D - 3 2 0 - - - 2 2 0 - - - 5 4 - - 0 / - 5 4 2 - - - 2 0h4 - - -

Beautiful and fun fingerpicking riffs to do in sawmill tuning (gDGCD). I still have some practicing to do to get it down perfectly, but then it will be a very pleasant loop to play. There is also room for expanding it by adding a C part or something

Different Ways to Play "The Butterfly" Irish tune | December 5, 2024

Whoops. Didn't mean to make this the longest video on my channel but this is good. I'm learning different ways to play "The Butterfly." I first heard this tune in the soundtrack to the film Roan Inish, and it has stuck with me as one of my favorite melodies of all time. It's so beautiful and fun to play, and since I have learned both the melody as well as the chords, I can jam along to the tune...

Recorded 10:12am Thanksgiving day. Some ideas. First one is some chords that reminds me of old Coldplay, and then I have a cool riff that reminds me of some Buckley guitar a bit.

Standard tuning capo 1. Really beautiful tune; I'm proud of this one, especially the chorus. I can't think of a better name for it so I'll just say it's a lullaby for now. It could definitely function that way with how calming the melody is. Also I thought I recorded a tutorial for this one but it seems I did not. I will record a tutorial soon and then link it here. There are some nuances that ...

Drop D capo 2. Beautiful new tune I made. I really like this one; it's so pure and fun to play. I nicknamed this tune "A view to stay" because the chords and melody has such a nostalgic sound, and reminds me of watching the Colorado sunset with my brothers and some random kids from Texas who were chilling on the cliff with us. It was our last night in Colorado, and we would head home first thin...

This is a cool and very open tune that I made. It's a lot of soloing melodies while maintaining the simple bass note progression loop. In the tutorial video, I explain my thought processes with the things I do, and I showcase a core melody which I was trying to achieve in this video at some points. Thanks for not answering! 😞
Sorry dude. Didn't mean to offend you. Been busy with life. I don't have a lot of time for interacting with this channel, and it mostly serves as an archive for my tunes so I can go back to them if I forget how to play them. I don't have much to say apart from the music. That's what I'm here for.
Here are the tabs, in both note name format and number format based off 17-note C-major kalimba. @@KPTunespace Thanks! I write fiction books.
@@matthewwilliams1187 Nice! That's my favorite class of books. So fun to get immersed into a fictional world and visualize scenes with just your imagination from the words off the page. keep goin man, it sounds nice ♥
Thank you! I really appreciate the encouragement. Check out the tab in the description if you want to learn this simple tune. It also includes some variations which I do when I play it now.
Nice, dude. Subscribed...
Thank you so much, I don't play guitar that much anymore and I've been looking for the tabs of this song for years !!! 🥺❤️
You’re welcome! Glad I could help :) I will try to post written tabs as well when I get the chance.
Well played!
Check video description (three menu dots) for more info on this. Again, big shoutout to @mattcan9552 and @nicholasnorrie1637 for their covers & tabs for this as they've helped me out a lot with figuring this out. I highly recommend checking out their covers of this track if you like how it sounds :)
Dont give up dude. Guitar is a fucking journey,
Noice 👌
You seem to have a pretty good feeling for "notes in between". Do me a favor please, buy some thimbles, and try playing with them. I think with a lot practice it should even be possible to play the guitar like usual, but without ever pressing strings down. It would be the same as what you're doing right now, but instead of touching all strings together at the same neck position / fret with a TV remote, you could address each string individually at different neck positions, and you could play chords including everything in between the standard 12 edo chords. With even more practice and either with specially designed thimbles, or with a scalloped guitar neck, you might even be able to do string bends!
yeah I was thinking about that too. I think thimbles would be too course and cause a lot of static, but if I could find glass ones that might work. definitely interested in trying it out!
@@KPTunespace I found a video here on yt called "Thimble Guitar Solo". The player is using a metal thimble on an electric guitar, so static doesn't seem to be an issue. He only uses one thimble, and not for notes in between, so it would be something new.
Thanks for the interesting lesson. I enjoyed it. Cool trick at 3:40 when you rotate your wrist to play around with the harmonics.
🎉👍
keep it up
Sounds cool dud
Thanks for sharing this video! Have fun on the journey becoming a better guitarist as time passes. God bless and much love! ❤
